We'll have to agree to disagree I don't think the League went after him hard at all
Lysiak got 20 games and didn't cause injury to the linesman, neither did Vermette's actions, but Wideman's did (likely ended the official's career); many players have been hit like Wideman was, I don't recall any of them ever doing what Wideman did

Wow. Hainsey is just an average D-men... not close to a 2nd round pick.
And that pretty much hurts Carolina this season being without Ron. They're only 10 points from the playoff spot with 3 games less played. So they're actually not so far away. But with this trade it seems like they gave up on that. Maybe they'll go fishing for a good draft pick..

If you get into Hainsey's advanced numbers, he's producing like a 3rd pairing guy while getting 1st pairing ice time. There's an argument to be made that Hainsey is responsible for some of Carolina's failures.
I am very surprised Pittsburgh gave up a 2nd for him. They apparently really are unhappy with their young d-men, to make this move now and still have time to possibly get another vet d-man. Seems early to make this move for one, so it lends credence to the idea they'll want a 2nd one as well.
Anaheim got Eaves for a second round pick that can become a first if Eaves plays 50% of the games of the first and second playoffs round of the Ducks Even a second round is already high imagine giving a first round pick for...Eaves.

He has had a great season. One and only. Alongside Jamie Benn. Darn foolish.
Some people are saying it is a "weak" draft year, I guess it is the reason, but I agree it is a bit high for Eaves.
Also, Blackhawks have traded a 3rd round pick for Red Wings' Thomas Jurco . I'm rather happy about this, I'd see him fit nicely with Hossa and Kruger in a 3rd line. He brings size and speed, kinda Panik's doppelganger.
Jurco trade is nice overall compared to the Hainsey and Eaves trade. Judging by Jurco's age compared to the other too he could've worth two first round pick.
He somehow was in the doghouse with two completely different coaching staffs.
I liked Jurco and have preached patience with him, because his puck skills would be so good.... but... it's been kinda' hard to see kids like Mantha, Athanasiou, and Larkin come in and command immediate NHL playing time... but Jurco never could somehow. That tells me something. I'm thinking CHI is going to discover the same thing, and I'm happy DET got something back for him instead of nothing on waivers like we thought was inevitable.
I am eager to see how he fits Chicago's team, especially since Quenneville doesn't seem to be ready to wait too much with newcomers (Daley, Ehrhoff, .. )
Hanzal goes to Minnesota. They gave ALOT for him IMO. The trades this year are crazy high so far. I doubt Duchene or Landeskog will move. The price would be astonishing.
I wonder how Bishop will turn out for the Kings, interesting situation there. Also, I wouldn't have thought people would actually give so much for Hanzal but, what do you know, someone actually did. I agree with philou, the prices for players seem very high this year.
Good for him if the change of air might be positive but the prospect they gave for him is a bad idea IMO. Fron your side though it's a nice acquisition.
Shattenkirk goes to Washington. For a first and a second pick plus a prospect I do not know. Nice addition for the Caps. Let's see if they can get far now.
After getting Jordie Benn, Bergevin just acquired Davidson from EDM for Desharnais. With Davidson MTL has way too many d-men now. I wonder what it might hides for tomorrow. Beaulieu is most likely gone IMO.
