Caps on the other hand beat Buffalo 3-2, and had their fourth win! Steve Eminger has been on fire. This young (22 yrs) defender made two assists in this game and has now a total of 2+5 = 7 points on 9 games! Looks like Ovechkin is not alone afterall. 8-)

Leafs 0 -8 Sens \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

And what O'neille did in the last seconds, slashing Chara ..... isnt't that the kind of thing Pat Quinn complained after the Atalanta game calling the Atlanta coach a bush-league coach ? Does this mean based on his teams actions he is one too ? Just a thought.

On a positive note, Ottawa finally has shown we are not intimidated by the blue nation anymore. Looking forward to the Philly game tonight. Should be a good one. Maybe as good as the Sens - Habs game on Thursday which was fantastic.

That's quite some thrashing :-o

The Bruins lost 4-5 to the Devils after a shootout. It's so frustrating - we were 3-1 up but then let our lead slip. We nearly got the winner towards the end too :

On a positive note, Thornton got 1G+3A

Given that it's Halloween weekend people were able to 'express themselves' more creatively during the series. There were four people in the full old tyme white with black stripes prison uniforms and they had a 'cell' they put in front of them during breaks complete with bars that said 'This Halloween we're going as Todd Bertuzzi'. 8-)

I do however feel that the fans at this point should take the lead of their team and just let it go.

I'd recorded that second game (and the first earlier) as well as TOR v OTT which was before it but didn't go back and watch the 8-0 game. I did watch the PHI v OTT game tonight and that one was no runaway for OTT. Good game overall but from OTT's view though they certainly didn't look invicible on their way to their 5-3 loss. They played well early but later on the majority of the play was carried even dominated by Philly.

Interesting that they overcame OTT mainly due to not being quite as reckless offensively and playing their D back more. I watched the crowning of a future Superstar in Carolina in their previous game when Staal scored a hat trick on them. That was the wildest darn game I've ever seen!!! :-o Phily scored twice in the final two minutes of the second to make it a 5-3 Flyer lead and Carolina score FIVE in the 3rd for an 8-6 win! :jawdrop:

That Carolina team is playing some amazingly gritty/desperate/110% effort hockey and Staal after that game led the entire league in scoring :-o Similarly playing their guts out are Columbus and Nashville. Before you'd probably have, like me, seen them on the schedule and said 'hmm.. next?' If you can catch any of their games though check them out. =D>

Hooray! The Bruins got another win! =D>

4-1 against the Panthers. Boyes got another goal :joy:

We're still really struggling in the Division, though. The Leafs and Sens have games in hand over us. If they win those then we'll be back at the bottom again :(

Crosby got his first two game. The Pens beat the Isles 5-1.

The New York Rangers

3rd in the Eastern Conference

1st in the Atlantic Conference

4th Penalty Kill 87.7%

9th PowerPlay 20.2%

NHL Leading Goalscorer - Jaromir Jagr

They are playing great great Hockey, and im very confident that for the first time in 8years there will be a NY Rangers Playoff game :)

No one expected this and its truly brilliant, 2 wins against New Jersey and it looks like a possible 3rd if they play well on saturday, with wins on the road at Philadelphia and Montreal, etc.

The emergence of Henrik Lundqvist and other youngsters like Dominic Moore and Petr Prucha, and the re-emergence of our Veteran players. Martin Straka, Martin Rucinsky, Michael Nylander and Marek Malik have been awesome, truly awesome!

HENRIK LUNDQVIST!!!!

Image

Its just great at the Moment and long may it continue!

On the Recent win at New Jersey it was excellent, they have owned us before, and now we own them!

I am still trying to forget the Hawks games I've watched recently. As everyone can see from the prediction league listings they got absolutely dismantled by Dallas. Ruutu has gone from having questionable knees to now having a questionable back that nobody is talking about but he's no longer travelling with the team even

I have adopted Carolina as my 'favorite team to watch' something you need to have when you are striken with this lifelong disease that is being a Hawks fan. I wish the Hawks would play with half, even a quarter of the intensity that the Canes have brought every game for 60 minutes every time I watch them.

As I said of the Dallas-Chicago game after two periods: "And so that ends the second period with the score 8-1. But don't let that score fool you, the game was nowhere near that close." :-x

The Hawks have traded a 2006 6th round pick for Bruins' Andy Hilbert.

Personally, I've never been a fan of him and so I'm glad to see the back of him. Imho he's AHL quality as he's nearly 25 yrs old - I don't see what the Hawks want him for.

You'd be amazed what a team change can do. In SM-Liiga, HIFK made a contract with Janne Hauhtonen, a former 3rd liner from JYP (another sm-liiga team). Now he's one of the top scorers, and he's second in the overall points. He has already made his new seasonal record - in only around 20 matches he has played. You might be right with Andy Hilbert, but you might want to wait a while before giving him the final judgement :)

Truly Hilbert cannot possibly make the team any worse so there's only upside there. With the team's injury situation combined with my much complained about lack of 'finish' anything resembling a goal scorer is a very welcome sight. Hell, they recently called up a guy who was signed by Norfolk (the AHL affil) and was scoring for them. :dunno:

Hilbert did a great job in the AHL last year, so good that he was convinced he was worth a slot on the Bruins which they wouldn't give him. So he demanded a trade. Poor guy probably didn't expect this though :-p However regarding the 'change of scenery' Steve Sullivan was obtained for even less; he was claimed off waivers! :-o

Well, after two good games in a row some fans were being finally talked down from the edge claiming they'd jump if Khabi didn't start doeing something looking more like goaltending and less like still photography. :-x Tonight though as the second of a back to back he let in four again with a not so impressive 0.852 sv%. It can't be underestimated that this is a baaaaaaaddddd team he is playing behind but they still need more from him. I of course didn't get to watch the game because it was at home. darn you Dollar Bill Wirtz!

So whose fave teams are playing tonight?

My Bruins are at the Isles. We haven't won at the Nassau Centre for four years. With out current run of form I doubt that will change. We lost to them earlier in the season 3-4 in OT.

We have five players on IR at the moment (including Leetch and Isbister) whereas the Isles only have Nokelainen on IR.

:-o I bet they've had this set since early on in the season but it was conditional on Sergei's return to the ice which dragged on a lot longer than anyone thought. Maybe that was part of the reason actually, they wanted to make sure he had zero chance of going out again once he came back. Another salary dump cpa-room clearer that's for sure.
Fedorov has been traded to Columbus from Anaheim in exchange for forward Tyler Wright and defenseman Francois Beauchemin, according to TSN.ca. The Blue Jackets also acquire a 2006 fifth-round pick in the deal.
Great move though by Columbus given their injuries, it also could make for a very interesting line of Vyborny-Federov-Zherdev :-k

Just to follow up on my own earlier mention of how much I've been impressed with Carolina's never-say-die attitude, Ottawa has been looking like they are playing against the Over 65 league recently, they've simply been destroying people but Carolina took 'em down 2-1!! Again! =D> Two of Ottawa's three losses this year are to Carolina. If you look at now, you'll see Carolina actually has a better record than the mighty Senators! :1st: Go Canes!!

The Coyotes got Dave Scatchard from the Bruins in exchange for David Tanabe.

When Petr Nedved comes back, you think it's possible that Mike Comrie gets traded?

It's nice to see us trying to bolster up our shakey defence. I wonder if he'll be playing tonight in the crunch game against the Sabres. It's quite a good trade financially too as Tanabe earns less than half of Scratchard's salary.
