No wonder it does not work. Wow. Ugh. Wow. I have no words....wow. Who knew I could have no words?
Tasku---Pass the puter and mashed potatoes and gravy please. I need it to run my game.

Tasku wrote:No worries. Should've seen it when you said the start date was 2003. You can get the 2007 version from the link in my post above yours. Then just do what we already instructed you to do: install the game, install the patch, install the rosters. Good luck and welcome to TBL!
I had my computer auto-troubleshoot, now its up. Its a trial version? huh?The Avenger wrote:Tasku wrote:No worries. Should've seen it when you said the start date was 2003. I installed
I downloaded patch to database
I downloaded update 4.1b to database, unzipped it
Double clicked on new icon to start game.......nothing.....like an empty icon.
I doubled clicked on icon in EHM folder....nothing
I don't have a heartbeat here.....
It's a trial version until you buy it! IIRC you get 6 months in-game for free to try it out...The Avenger wrote: Its a trial version? huh?

Ooops...FYI Avenger...some people are having success when they clich on purchase full version in game. Some are not.
And really curious how old you are...have you beat me and Cee BEe? Cee Bee is a little older than me...I am 42. (So old cannot recall how old he said he was...and that was just the other day...but I can remember what happened in 1976. Wow.

If you have a choice of databases when you select "New Game" the patch has worked.....if not, it hasn't
I'm not sure what you mean by minimal folder....if you mean the patch is in the Manimal 4.1b database folder, then I think you've got the patch in the wrong place! The Avenger wrote:My 3.04 patch sits in my minimal folder with the update stats
i double clicked the patch, it asks to choose the program to use to open this filenino33 wrote:I'm not sure what you mean by minimal folder....if you mean the patch is in the Manimal 4.1b database folder, then I think you've got the patch in the wrong place! The Avenger wrote:My 3.04 patch sits in my minimal folder with the update stats
IIRC the patch should go in C Drive/Program Files (x86)/Sports Interactive/NHL Eastside Hockey manager 2007....where you have the data folder, the manuals folder, the readme files and the ehm2007 Application should be there....then you double-click the patch
100% agree, i loved this game once upon a time. My kids are getting older and i got so free time on my hands when my wife isn't all over me. Thanks for the props.CeeBee wrote:I even remember the 50's though we didn't have a TV so I don't have a ton of hockey knowledge other than books, magazines and hockey night in Canada on CBC radio... BTW, welcome aboard Avenger. Hope you get things figured out cause this is an awesome game even if it's showing it's age, plus the work the guys are putting into the new Databases and other programs to improve the game are just downright IMPRESSIVE!!!!!![]()

I could be wrong, of course, but yes, I believe that's a bad thing. You might be OK renaming the folder, but you should probably avoid it if you can. Your PC installed and "registered" the application to a certain location, and then manually changing that location (by renaming the folder) could be mixing things up.The Avenger wrote:Does it matter that i re-named the folder to just Eastside Hockey Manager and that its its own folder, not in program86?
ok, i'm deleting EVERYthing one last time.B. Stinson wrote:I could be wrong, of course, but yes, I believe that's a bad thing. Also, I don't think it's a good idea to move applications out of the Program Files directory. I've never attempted it myself, so again, I could be wrong, but I would imagine you're seriously mixing things up by doing so.

The whole process in a few simple steps:
1) Download the demo and install it. It will run for six months (in-game), then you'll have to purchase the full version to play any further (if that's possible at all, don't know what the game's status at this point is to be honest).
2) Download the 3.04 patch (for example from here). It should be an .exe file, so just double-click it and follow the on-screen instructions. If it isn't, and it doesn't have any other extension, maybe you should just add the .exe for it to work. Until you have the game successfully patched I'd say it's not a good thing to move anything. EHM depends on a fixed folder structure, so something not being where it should be might impede running the game itself. After you double-click the patch you should see the dialogue boxes Stinson posted above. The patch should (I presume) detect the correct filepath to EHM (if it doesn't, you'll have to find it yourself).
3) After you patch the game, download the roster update (for example from here). You'll get a folder, with a Read Me file and another folder (with the actual updated database files) inside. You should put the second folder (the whole folder) INSIDE the existing database folder (filepath: whereveryouputEHM/NHL EHM 2007/data/database), alongside the original database files.
4) When you do that, the next time you hit the New Game button you should get an option to choose which database to use.
Try to do that and report back. If it doesn't work report back too and say at which point you're having problems (and what they might be). Good luck!
