Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
I've had this before and it's impossible to fix as far as I can tell. Are you able to re-download the database and recreate your player?

I changed the places of dallas stars to minnesota north stars and hurricanes to whalers and also created 6 new players. in my old save it worked great.
But yea i forgot to mention that i tried to make it work on my friends computer, he got windows 7 home premium. but still i think i did everything like in my own computer.

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
If you did it and it worked before, I'm guessing you already know to avoid overwriting (deleting) teams (as the game will look for them at start-up and crash if they aren't there)...and I'm guessing you already know to click Confirm and Save after making edits, and to avoid a low Reputation and use a Full database size to ensure created players show up in-game...HHokari wrote:in my old save it worked great.
Did you right click and select "Run as Administrator" when opening the Editor? Windows 7 can cause huge headaches if you don't...HHokari wrote:i tried to make it work on my friends computer, he got windows 7 home premium.
If that's not the issue, perhaps you can find your answer in the TBL Technical Support Forum http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... .php?f=117

Re: Pre Game Editor problem
You should have a place on the bottom of the opening page of the pre-game editor where you see a "Load Database". Make sure you have the correct path there, before attempting to open via "File-Load-etc.."

Have you selected the database folder where index.dat is located?

I have looked around for an answer to my question but haven't found any. Is there a tool that will allow you to add player info from a file to the game? It is a pain in the rear to have to add "made up" player data every time there is a revision.

What player info? Do you mean the Player Info tab in the Pre Game Editor? If so, this is what you'd need: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =88&t=9213flint wrote:I have looked around for an answer to my question but haven't found any. Or do you mean using something like Excel to create new players? If so, this is it (v0.3.8 of the EHM Updater): http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 22#p142122
Or have I misunderstood the question?

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
Thanks for the quick reply Archibalduk. Sorry mine is late ... work interrupted.
I have players (friends, family) created to use for fun using the excel spreadsheet that I believe I got off this site. Is there any way to import them into a new database without having to manually type them in? You mentioned the EHM updater. Would that allow me to add them without retyping everything?
Or is there a spreadsheet or something I could use to put multiple players info on and then import?
Thanks for the help.

That would be the EHM Updater! Creating new players in game (via importing a soreadsheet) is just one of the many functions of the EHM Updater!flint wrote: is there a spreadsheet or something I could use to put multiple players info on and then import?

Might be a stupid question, but I'm definitely new to this.
So I'm trying to add to the "National Competitions" "History" data in the editor, specifically to add the 2012 results to the World Junior Championships U-18. I seriously cannot figure out how to do this, is there even any way to do it? I think I've tried everything.

Welcome to The Blue Line!
No, I'm afraid competition history cannot be added via the Pre Game Editor. It can however be done using the EHM Updater. The latest download link can be found in the quote below. I have used the Updater to add all of the 2006/07-2010/11 competition histories to the Manimal DB and will shortly be adding the 2011/12 histories for the next release - again, using the Updater.

Status: In progress (high priority). This is a large project and will take quite a length of time. Beta versions for testing will be available from time to time.
Description: This will convert spreadsheets of research and apply them to the database. This was previously known as the Staff Updater but will now cover additional areas (such as competition history updating). Currently I have the following features planned:
- Contract details (done)
- Player attributes (done)
- Staff career history (done)
- Competition history (done)
- Player awards history (done)
- Remove player attributes for non-players (done)
- Incorporate the Date of First Pro Contract fix (done)
- Creating new players/staff (done)
- Ability to remove/delete all retired and invalid staff from the database (done)
- Possibly incorporate the player info generator with a Date of First Pro Contract generator (in progress)
- Draft history and/or team rights
- Ability to retire/invalidate players
- Incorporate the Retired Numbers Updater
- Incorporate the Nations Updater/Extractor
- Non-player attribute updating
- Ability to change a non-player's job type using the contract updating spreadsheet

Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea
You would need to improve the quality of the existing Danish players in the database. The game generates new youth players when older players retire - the Potential Ability rating of the new player depends upon the Current Ability rating of the retired player IIRC.

There are a lot of young players in Denmark there have a big potential.
Thanks for the hjelp

I thought the PA of the new player was the same as the PA of the old/retiring player?archibalduk wrote:game generates new youth players when older players retire - the Potential Ability rating of the new player depends upon the Current Ability rating of the retired player IIRC.

That's probably right. I couldn't remember which one it was (hence the "IIRC" at the end of my post).nino33 wrote:I thought the PA of the new player was the same as the PA of the old/retiring player?archibalduk wrote:game generates new youth players when older players retire - the Potential Ability rating of the new player depends upon the Current Ability rating of the retired player IIRC.

This summer I've got the brillant idea to move some teams like Nordiques, etc. Now, I'm downloading the 4.2 rosters, but when a create a new game, Nordiques are still there, as the other teams. I would like to know if theres a way to cancel the changes I've made with divisions etc.
Thanks
Thanks

Once you've saved the changes you can't undo them, other than each change by it's own.cecede123 wrote:This summer I've got the brillant idea to move some teams like Nordiques, etc. Now, I'm downloading the 4.2 rosters, but when a create a new game, Nordiques are still there, as the other teams.
