Most of the regens from the very beginning of the game have somewhat random potentials. They have a certain number that will create the regen between a certain range of Potential Abilities. Try searching this:hcdfanatic83 wrote:ok, i just learned about the regens and i looked for one in the draft. Its only the 09 draft but the guy i saw is a european so i thougt he can be a regen right?
To make it sure i searched for him in the pregame editor and he wasnt there, so he has to be a regen! but now i start the saved game editor and see this:
Country: Sweden
PA:160
Primary Position: Center
can anybody help me?
-14 Potential will be between 90-160 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)
-15 Potential will be between 110-190 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)
It comes from here on the forum: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... al+ability
Hope that helps

this helped alot! thx
when i search with -15
Peter Forsberg is the only result, but he is too small and too heavy 6ft 1in and 207lbs
-14 results
jonas johnson 6ft2in and 184lbs
jörgen jönsson 6ft and 196lbs
mats sundin (unlikely) 6ft 4in 229lbs
johan sundström
6ft 2in 196 lbs
REGEN is 6ft 2in 170lbs at 18 years
can left or right handed change for the regen? if no then sundin and sundström are out.
everyone has 17 consistency
i would tend to jonas johnson...
why do the early regens have random potential anyways?

In my experience, i've never found a regen with a different height or weight from the original player.
sometimes finding a regen is tricky. Another point to help you try to pinpoint who the regen is, with the saved and pre game editors, on the same page as height and weight, you can see the players offensive and defensive roles(# between 0-20). That will always stay the same as well.

What I am noticing is on the regens their PA (Potential ability) is not as high as the original. Is that because they start out with such high stas in most cases? I am using Lida 3.0.
And I find it quite simple to figure out who is a regen of who...
And I find it quite simple to figure out who is a regen of who...
- Look up player in question in your saved game editor
Then open the pre-game editor
Filter pregame editor to nationality and main position to fit the player in question
Also start to filter potential ability with -15 to -15
Then compare the players found in the pregame to the player in question.
(If no player is found, change to -14 to -14, or 140 to 200, etc...you get the idea.

Weight
Shoot/Catches
Position value (LD,RD, LW, C, RW)

EXACTLY what i do as well. It's full proof and almost never incorrect. But i use this scale when searching the pregame editor:blueshirtnParis wrote:What I am noticing is on the regens their PA (Potential ability) is not as high as the original. -1 Potential will be between 1-20 (the worst young players, they will likely retire at a young age and keep getting recycled back into the regen pool)
-2 Potential will be between 10-40
-3 Potential will be between 30-60
-4 Potential will be between 50-80
-5 Potential will be between 70-100
-6 Potential will be between 90-120
-7 Potential will be between 110-140 (quite rare – a good prospect with a decent chance of being a regular NHL player)
-8 Potential will be between 130-160 (rare – a top prospect with a good chance of being a talented NHL player)
-9 Potential will be between 150-180 (very rare – a top 10 prospect who is considered a can’t miss NHL talent)
-10 Potential will be between 170-200 (extremely rare – the top player available in a draft, but not every year)
-11 Potential will be between 20-80 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)

Is it just me or do regens of good players start off somewhat ridiculously?
There's a 16 year old Russian in the CHL Import that has all greens for skating and a dynamite wrist shot (Bure??) at 18. The guy pretty much already has NHL attributes!
Same for some really good up and coming players in the WHL Bantam draft. Pretty much the entire top 50 of the draft has better attributes than many NHL players.
I am using the 2011 roster package, so I do wonder if perhaps this large influx is making up for a few years gone missing? Either way I am in the WHL (Oil Kings) and frothing at the mouth over the prospects available compared to the previous year!

I just drafted a Swedish Defenseman named Oliver Venturi
He's from Stokholm, plays left defense, has a consistency of 18.
His green stats:
Acceleration:17
Balance:20
Speed:17
Stamina:17
Bravery:18
Teamwork:17
Workrate:18
At first i thought it may be Lidstrom but he retired in 09-10 season and I am in 10-11 season. Any idea who this may be? Or is this an actual player?
