I really liked the intensity and the transition game last night though. Sens got extremely lucky to get one point out of that. Patrice is quite the warrior

I missed the game last night. I was checking the score on my phone though. I flipped when I saw that the Sens tied it up with 20 seconds left. At least the B's got 2 points out of it. I heard that there was a bit of a scare with Bergeron leaving the game after blocking a shot or something. I hope he's okay. They can't afford to lose him!

Yeah he blew a tire on the PK and was in an awkward position when he blocked that point shot, so basically the Sens ended up with a 5 on 3 since Patrice couldn't even get up to his knees, and they scored. Everybody seems to have lost focus on the play and was more concerned with what's happened to him, those were some strange moments right before and after the goal, even Jack and Brick seemed very casual with their call on the goal. He returned right away but had to quit his shift and walk it off, everything seemed fine after that though. :dunno:
Oh and if you're a huge Timmeh fan please don't watch the tying goal :-D
On another note, this was very reminiscent of the Penguins game, they had the puck for about half a minute in the Sens zone right before the goal and just couldn't score into an empty net, at least 4 missed attempts

Matt Cooke banned for 2 games

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXixraReToU

Bit disappointed by the call, wasn't a "deliberate check to the head" in my opinion, he had his head down, he got leveled.

Ovechkin thrown out of the game again for going knee on knee on Gleason. Looks like him injured himself anyway.
Weird incident in the Atlanta vs Florida game, Ballard got angry after being scored on, wanted to smash his stick on the crossbar and hit Vokoun's melon who had to be taken off the ice with a head injury.

Yep. Ovenchicken gonna get a suspension for sure for that one. As for Vokoun, are you sure the head injury was not before that? cause he let in 2 on like 5 shots.

Funny how tsn, nhl.com etc are reporting Ovechkin had to leave the game because of an injury. No, that's not why he had to leave. Report it how it is you morons.

Ballard = Total idiot.

As for Ovechkin, the injury looked quite bad. As soon as his knee touched Gleason it just collapsed underneath him.

batdad - Ovechkin doesnt get suspended. One rule for superstars state they aren't allowed to be... Didn't he get a misconduct for nailing someone headfirst into the boards the other day and nothing more was ever said. Yet Patrick Kaleta does the same thing 2 days later and is suspended for 2 games... :dunno:

This time he will. Too much publicity on all the things he has done dirty in the last little while. Now will it be what he deserves.....no. But it will be a game or two.

Ballard should be suspended too, 20 games for unsportsmanlike conduct causing injury to a teammate. Hopefully the Panthers sit him out for a bit. Nice lesson for the kiddoes.

As for Patrick Kaleta...lets not go thinking he is an okay guy. He is as big a goof/jerk (cannot use what I really want to call the little dork) as Cooke is. he deserves 20000 games

This hit wasn't really from behind and plus Kaleta is an idiot. Go to youtube and write is name and you will see so much dirty hit from him...i was surprise myself! He is a dirty player and that's why he get suspended and Ovy....not, he pleased alot of other player in the NHL by doing this and the NHL knew it. For the tonight incident, he should get suspended but you know...a star is a star...

Maybe he is... But if Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin etc. do the same thing as him. They should be punished the same as him...

Maybe Kaleta is an idiot? Man, you need to watch some more hockey. The guy is actually the biggest joke in the NHL. At least Ovenchicken has some skill. Kalata runs around like a maniac and delivers cheap shots..and then hides behind Gaustad or someone who will scrap. He is the absolute best example of everything that is wrong with the instigator. Guys need to grab ahold of him (teammates) and beat the living daylights out of him. Too bad that Ballard did not hit him with a stick in the head.

Ovechkin screwed up. he is dirty and plays over the edge. Two things...One he gets a suspension (although if he does not, it has nothing to do with him..that is Buttman/Campbell problem). Second, I betcha he may even apologize...a guy like Kaleta will just try and do exactly the same thing to the same guy next game.

To summarize: Matt Cooke and Patrik Kaleta---Great big pieces of chicken Dung.
Alex Ovechkin--Not a clean player by any means, but still the best player in the NHL.

Oh and and didn't say ''maybe he is an idiot''. I said he is an idiot, so no need to watch more hockey, it's just my way to tell he is a jerk. Not as good as you to find the good words for him. :-D

By "The other guy", i guess you mean me...

I'm not saying that Kaleta isn't a "goof/jerk", i'm not after Ovechkins head and i'm not saying that the NHL is being too hard on Kaleta, so please don't put words into my sentences that weren't there. You are calling Ovechkin "dirty" and Kaleta a "goof/jerk". If they make the same goon plays, then they should be punished equally, despite the fact that Ovechkin may be the best player in the league and has skill and scores. That shouldn't matter! The fact is they both could have seriously injured someone and should not be making these hits.

The NHL should not have one rule for Patrick Kaleta and one rule for Alexander Ovechkin.

To be honest I'm not a big fan of double standards either. As much as I detest Kaleta that's no excuse for not punishing any star player to the same extent some punk was punished. Make no mistake, Ovechkin is a repeat offender, the league just didn't have the balls to suspend him appropriately yet (which of course is not his problem). And a suspension should never depend on the player's skills/role IMO. Consistency/credibility is a major issue in hockey.
