Hmmm maybe I have misunderstood how the database works. I was under the impression I had to locate the 9.6 and edit it in the editor.

But does it work the way that every new update (9.5, 9.6 etc) automatically updates the database in the content (plus numbers) folder? and after I edit that I have to start a new game and choose the default (2016) database?

If not, I am at a loss :)

Just copy and paste the database files into a new sub-folder of your databases folder.

Hey Guy,

I am having trouble creating new players with the pre game editor. Every player I create, will not show up in the game itself. I am using the latest pre game editor and ehm game.

You need to click again on role for player (on the right). When you created him, exit from his profile (just click on another player) then get back and ensure that he is a player and has a team. If not, input those values again.

I clicked on a role for the player and make sure he also had a team. I clicked on a another player and back onto my created player. His info stayed the same, but when I created a new game he did not show up. I checked back to the editor and his team was back to free agent.

Hmmm...did you start by right clicking and using "Run as Administrator" when you opened the Editor? did you remember to save the database after you made your edits?

I just tried right clicking on the editor to run it as administrator. I saved as and saved right after my edit, yet still no dice. Every time I close the editor and re open it, the created player is always a free agent to.

It's a bug in the Editor (which I have already fixed as Alessandro noted the same issue - and I think it links to the issue Named previously mentioned).

The problem is that the Editor uses a non-existent default value for the Job For Club setting when creating a new person. As the value does not exist, the drop-menu exhibits undefined behaviour - that is, it shows "Player" even though the underlying value does not actually correspond to being a player. The temporary fix is to change the Job For Club to Invalid or Retired and then switch it back to Player.

I tried to search but could not find this answer.

Can you change affiliations for a saved game or only for a database?

I have a new version of the Editor pretty much good for release but there is one bug which I just cannot figure out: Creating a new active team and adding it to a league causes a crash. Regardless of how simple the league structure is, I still get a crash (I have been trying the BeNeLiga as it draws clubs straight from the Club settings). I'm going to ask Riz about this one because I'm not getting anywhere with it... ](*,)

If this can be of any help, it crashes on the current version as well.

I tested using version 9.2 of the TBL Rosters. Added using the Editor. It should work regardless. I've asked Riz to see if he can diagnose the issue with the database.

For current 9.6 release we have made a few missing clubs in editor directly and no crash with them. But they are in non-playable league so its only one difference.

Archi talked about active clubs. We created some teams for histories purposes, therefore inactive. If you try to add an active team, the game crashes.

The solution might be to wait for the next version. I fixed an issue with large spreadsheets which would take a very long time to import - I expect your issue is the same.

Compare? No, there is no comparison function. You can export certain aspects to spreadsheets and then compare using Excel.

Combine? No, but you could export data to spreadsheets and import into your chosen DB,
