Sweet! Thank you! Now I guess he just has to grow into it. (and maybe get on a team that wins. lol)

Is anyone else playing a game with the save from this? It's kind of fun just to pick up a team in the NHL now that players have retired and others have changed teams. The league looks much different. The fact that you can draft yourself and other TBLers is just an added bonus. This has been keeping me entertained while I wait for the new Lidas rosters.

I haven't been playing any EHM for a few months actually. Right after I downloaded the Jets db and was going to really get into that I got busy with real life stuff. And when I started having more time I just haven't gotten back into playing it.

I'm currently playing MechCommander 2 with a mod campaign. I'm thinking of starting to do a mod of MC2 as well, but since I don't know programming this will be a challenge. lol

It sure was, I went through it yesterday having thirteen picks after only having three in the first draft when I took over a demolished Red Wings system with half the team over 35 and only two decent prospects left. I made sure to draft my guy in 2010 but oddly enough I think I only ended up with a single TBLer in 2011 as well. Oh well, if Mullane puts up the same numbers for me as he's done in Calv's game I'll be happy anyway.

The first offseason was spent moving most of the old, expensive contracts (Rafalski and Nabokov stayed) for picks and replacing them with cheap grinders for one year deals. Eventually got knocked out in the conference semi-finals when an injury to Franzen broke the only quality scoring line we had (Z-D-F). At the season's end we reacquired Daniel Larsson from CBJ (who had Howard as well) for Nabokov. I'm sure we were the losers in that deal but atleast we dumped some salary and brought back a piece of the broken system. In the second offseason I tried to add a top six big body and a quality RD. I managed to snag Penner but had to settle for a bunch of depth D to battle it out for the open spot. The good news is that it left me with enough cap space to invite some veterans to camp where Cooke dominated and was awarded with a one year deal. Finnish unknown 30 year old Jussi Timonen came out on top for the sixth D spot while Matt Smaby stayed with the big club as number seven.

2011-2012 Red Wings:
Esche
Larsson

Kronwall-Eminger
Kindl-Fahey
Stuart-Timonen
(Smaby)

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Penner
Cooke-Filppula-Franzen
Leino-Bates-Mair
Bergenheim-Palmieri-Artyukhin
(Chimera)

Looking forward to the next update Calv, even if most of our guys should be reaching their potential by now.

I had similar issues when I took over the Bruins. Their defense was ancient! So many guys over 35 years old.

While I normally don't trade much in a regular game, I did do some trading for picks (and to move up in the draft) in this one. Did you draft any of the "easter egg" players? I couldn't resist doing everything I could do to get the top 3 picks in that draft.

Haha, sadly no I didn't, I didn't trade for any first round picks. Maybe I should have tried to make a trade to get Pork as my sixth D. :-D

Just went back and looked at the draft results and realized that none of my scouts recommended Roowah, turns out he has a consistency of 5 but was still picked at #4.

I got Pork, Luigi, and Fury, in that order. I couldn't resist.

Thanks Calv!

I do have one question though... How did I (brad mcgraw) go from the Lightning to the Thrashers? Free agency or trade? Thanks. :)

Ooh nice, looks like my guy has developed into a quality defenseman despite his poor skating ability. 50 points, +23 and 78 PIMS with the Canucks. 10 points and +10 in 19 playoff games too, who won the cup this season Calv?

I have faded to the obscurity of the AHL! Noooooo!

2 full seasons down... and my stats are only decreasing. For shame!
I have to admit I find it odd that a youngster with a shot like mine (17 wrist 17 slap) and pretty good physical stats... is struggling so hard.

Very tempted to download the DB and check my attribs ;)

I am kinda glad I am back in the AHL. I can dominate there vs. being a weak NHL backup at best. My hope is that I can spend a couple of full seasons in the AHL and maybe win a Calder.
