I was considering ponying up to get to see the Senators and Avalanche play in Stockholm this fall but the prices are so high.

I have no idea what the cheapest single game tickets are here in Edmonton now (it's so complicated to figure out now...they even change the prices depending on the team the Oilers are playing), but I'm pretty sure the worst seats are close to (or over?) $100 US and then it just goes up massively from there; apparently the Oilers average ticket price is currently $207 http://blog.tiqiq.com/2016/10/2013-14-n ... /#comments
According to the data in the link above, only three teams (Ducks, Panthers, Coyotes) have an average ticket price under $100 & the NHL average ticket price is $159

I was considering the trip as well but it the minimum stay was 4 nights + flight tickets + game tickets...nino33 wrote:How much?Manimal wrote:I was considering ponying up to get to see the Senators and Avalanche play in Stockholm this fall but the prices are so high.

I think, decent (game) tickets were like 150-200$, mby more.
They played games in Germany several years ago, hopefully, they won't wait that long and will visit a country closer to me.

With today's prices if you want a hockey + the hotel and do some tourist you need to save money just like you save some to go around the world.

The Avalanche will buy out Beauchemin's last year on his contract. Good move to free some cap space IMO. I'm a bit sad it ended up that way though. I was really happy when they signed him but I guess his age and the weak team made him look bad compared to what he did with Anaheim...oh well!

Good team spirit for everyone who's removing the "No Trade Clause"! Well except Phaneuf!

Girardi got bought out. Surprises? Anyone? No... ok.

It was more of a tactical thing as it frees a slot in the upcoming expansion draft. Would probably have stayed if there wasn't an expansion draft.philou21 wrote:The Avalanche will buy out Beauchemin's last year on his contract. Good move to free some cap space IMO. Because of his age, his cap hit will remain with the Avs.philou21 wrote:The Avalanche will buy out Beauchemin's last year on his contract. Good move to free some cap space IMO. The trade seems pretty balanced to me which is something you don't see often in the NHL

Re: Official NHL Season 2016-2017 Thread
I clearly did not see that one coming. I thought that with Subban gone and Markov getting older Sergachev was the futur of the team in defense. Maybe they saw something during the season the did not like...I'm not really sure I like the trade. Sure Drouin is good but he still hasn't prove anything....on top of that MTL always play defensively and players with offensive talent can't never fully express themselves. This is going to be interesting!

Six years right off the bat for Drouin with a 6 years worth 33 millions deal. At 5.5 per year for 6 years I think it's a decent contract if Drouin keeps getting better!

Re: Official NHL Season 2016-2017 Thread
The trade can be good. It's hard to say yet. But that contract is a hell of a risk! It's very rare that contracts like this are good when signing a player who doesn't have any experience with the team yet, and he's young and not so much to show for YET, he has the potential though. But I guess he likes it more now when he's closer to home?! That salary requires him to be that 50+ point scorer each year. As he will not help much in defence.philou21 wrote:Six years right off the bat for Drouin with a 6 years worth 33 millions deal. Re: Official NHL Season 2016-2017 Thread
Yeah I agree.Like Isaid he hasn't prove anything. If he keeps putting 50-60 pts season and plus this contract is good. I just can't get out of my head the attitude problem he had in Tampa. That's where it's risky for me. Mtl already have a bit of a problem with that.
I heard Galchenyuk is in a cure for alcool and that Beaulieu was asked to do one too and he refused. It's not getting any better for Beaulieu if it's true. He was already close to being traded but I guess with Sergachev gone they planned on keeping him.

That's first I've heard of it. That's.... something if true. Take it with a grain of salt though.philou21 wrote:I heard Galchenyuk is in a cure for alcool and that Beaulieu was asked to do one too and he refused. I do find it amusing/sad that Subban was traded for "attitude" but that MTL is potentially just giving all kinds of chances for players needing rehab, or at least other potential attitude and distraction problems.

I'm not taking it that seriously about Galchenyuk because people always talk too much...but the number of times him and Beaulieu were seen in the clubs in MTL partying. I wouldn't be surprised.

Re: Official NHL Season 2016-2017 Thread
Galchenyuk entered rehab back in 2011 when he was part of the Sarnia Sting.
Beaulieu has also had his problems. He and his father plead guilty back in 2013 for destroying hockey memorabilia at a house in Strathroy. His dad lost his job with the Sarnia Sting because of it.
That's not to say that they're still continuing to have problems. Just saying that they have had issues in the past.

They also signed him a 6 year deal worth north of $30 million (not sure of the exact amount)nino33 wrote:The Habs have traded Mikhail Sergachev to Tampa Bay for Jonathan Drouin https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/free ... lockbuster

That's a pretty big contract for a kid who has yet to prove himself on a consistent basis in the NHL.

Oops! The ones directly above my post referenced Galchenyuk and substance abuse, and I guess that resulted in my ending my "reading back" (and then I stumbled across the trade announcement when looking at something unrelated and so posted)philou21 wrote:Nino is blind it seems!
