Do you have any great ideas that would take the Eastside-franchise to a whole new level? Post them here! Archibalduk will then pass the details on to Riz.

Summary of what has been asked for made by shanamaj , big thanks!

Code: Select all

I took the liberty to go through all thread and sumarize sugggestions in a list. Maybe topic starter or Archibalduk can update their initial post with this and continue maintenance? Feel free to move around or re-group, doubt my categories are the optimal ones.

Color red means further elaboration would be helpful as I at least was not sure what was meant. If you have input to give in relation to these items please do.

I tried to merge similar suggestions and ignored bug references as they should be reported to SI rather. Apologies if I missed anything.

Heh I meant in relation to online gameplay! :D But go on then, post any suggestions here and I'll compile a list (although I wouldn't be surprised if Riz came across this thread anyway).

Customisable attribute colours would be a big thing for me, as well as more leagues. A pre-game editor would be very nice, and generally stealing the best bits of the interface from either FM or OOTP would be good.

Winter Classics
UK Leagues (Also I'm sure Archi has this sorted)
Asia League (pretty please!)
More media interaction - No Football Manager style but a little more hype in the big leagues would be nice.
Build new arenas - if it's the same as EHM07 wasn't this almost impossible? Being able to relocate if your arena is rented would be nice!
Set up new affiliates - Like in Football Manager.

However I am MORE THAN HAPPY THAT I HAVE EHM BACK IN MY LIFE!! :notworthy:

One thing i really want is the opportunity to have more then 2 forward-pairings in the PK and OT, it's so unrealistic to only have 4 forwards playing on the PK, most teams rotate 6-8 forwards on the PK.

Practice >
Induvidual schedules for each player - in style of the personal tactics tab
Development report after each season(~mid June) of the players from the head coach, also for team affilates. See example below.
"Alex Tuch is not developing as we have hoped, maybe you should consider a ligher schedule. *Random sentence about various statistics and attributes*"
More options when customizing a practice schedule

Training camp >
Open camp default off
Head coach auto cut option/preffered roster
Button for auto inviting all owned prospects

Tactics >
Make your own Power Play setups
Remove shift length and replace with prefered game minutes per game per line
3rd Powerplay line

Scouting and player search >
Permanent NHL draft scout
Season report of owned prospects from the head scout. See example.
"We should defintley consider giving this guy a shot! *Random sentence about various statistics and attributes*"
Scouted players database
Different draft rankings, ISS and your own scouts ranking

Statistics >
Shot covering

Player attributes >
Make more of the hidden attributes visible. This should be visible for well known players.

Staff and their attributes >
More staff, nowadays teams have titles as: "Dir. of Player Development" and "Dir. of Player Personnel"
A video coach, an important asset for the head coach to review the teams misstakes. I guess you understand the general idea here
Conditioning coach

Other >
"Tweet-system" generally more interaction with the media. Maybe a real Media Pundit this time?
Human controlled GMs has stas(just for fun)
Advice from Ass. GM, primarly for new players
Set up new affiliates
EHM 2007 skin
NCAA
Fog of war should be even more hazy

And almost most important:
SYNONYMS FOR THE MESSAGES, AFTER 8 YEARS WITH THIS GAME I'M SICK OF HEARING THAT THE COACHING STAFF WERE RINKSIDE EVALUATING THE PLAYERS PERFORMANCE AND AGREED THAT x PUT IN THE BEST PERFORMANCE, WITH Y AND Z ALSO PUTTING IN A GOOD EFFORT

I'd love to see advanced stats in EHM. In text based management sims, the more stats the better. Being able to see a players Corsi (or SAT, as the NHL now calls it) and whatnot would add a whole new layer of depth to the game and would likely be a big help when playing with attributes hidden.

So excited for a new version of this game... don't have much time tonight but here's a short list of things, mainly carry-overs from EHM 2007

- ability to name captains outside of tactics, perhaps similar to how you name the Head Scout
- improved scouting lists ... for example, the ability to maintain multiple shortlists, and one for staff as well
- ability to filter which stat categories display while looking at a scouting list, similar to how it works for attributes

Generally, more filter options when looking at lists of players. When deciding who to draft in late rounds the decisive factor could be anything, and the more tools we have to look at whatever player info we want in table format (ie draft screen) the better.

Thanks, I'm sure I'll have much more as I get into the game over the weekend and the vast majority of my life's non-work hours from here on out...

This. I hope they add a windowed mode soon, and preferably take away the black bars at the side of the screen. Otherwise, the presentation is really easy to read and takes the good parts from the Football Manager experience.

There is a windowed mode, only 1 size though.

I've played about 4 hours and I have to say, I'm loving it. I'd never heard of EHM until today and I'm a big fan of FM so I was really happy to play this game. I have a couple of things I'd like added by the devs:

- I'd love them to add hockey sweater graphics into the info screens just like in FM.
- Media interaction, press conferences and player chats like in FM.
- Data editor.

Yeh I know, but it's tiny because of the resolution. That's more what I meant.

I'm not sure if this has been tweaked already, but the one big issue I've always had with EHM 2007 was the way players regressed as they aged. It always seemed as though players would last far longer than they should, with your typical mediocre replacement-level player being serviceable until his late 30's, top-6 F's/top-4 D's into their 40's, etc. The game would be a lot more challenging if players peaked earlier and most were pretty much done by their mid 30's, save for the legit top liners and whatnot.
