Hello!

Playing the game with these GM-options...

* Coach games yourself - No
* Use Current tactics - No
* Use current team selections when possible - Yes
* Use current lines when possible - Yes

Is there a good way to see how the head coach matching the lines vs different opponents?

Thanks for your time!

I came here to also post about linematching, I don't think there is a way except for watching the highlights.

My question is could someone explain advantages and disadvantages of matching lines like for like, i.e. 1st v 1st, 2nd v 2nd etc, and matching 1st v 3rd etc.

What is the most common method? What scenarios/situations would you use different matchup combinations?

Hi, I personally use 1vs3, 2vs2, 3vs1, 4vs4

as you can see my 3rd line is my defensive line that will play against they're best players.

I also use "personnal Tactics" or "individual", for my def line. I will have my center cover their's Center, my LW their Rw and RW their Lw but just with my 3rd line.

It made a difference when I started using the individual tactics.

I also sometimes switch players from line to line. Good players on a slump can go to 4th line with young prospect and they start producing.

Thanks for replying, sorry, what do you mean exactly by: " I will have my center cover their's Center, my LW their Rw and RW their Lw but just with my 3rd line."??

Example; I have Patrice Bergeron as my center on my defensive line, in this case my 3rd line center.

I have him checking the 1st line center of the opposite team. (1vs3, 2vs2, 3vs1, 4vs4)

I do that in the tactic screen, individual tactic, player to check (something like that), there will be all the players of the other team then you choose the center of their first line to be check.

Also the opposite LW (left winger) as to be check by your RW (right winger) because his facing him on the ice.

*My third line is matching their first line but also I have my players on that line assigned to watch specific players on the opposite line :-k hum, hopes it helps

Thanks for your answers.

When playing the game like I do with no tactics (leaving this to the H.C) and of course i don't watching the games, highlights could be the best option. You could also have a hint looking at icetime when thinking about it. Also looking at plus/minus could give a hint.

If anyone else have more input - feel free to enlightening me.
