Getting your drafted players from Russia

Post by bashbros30 »

Hello all,

long time player of EHM. first time poster.

In my save using the NHL36 most recent roster, I have just completed the draft. My first round pick was a player from Russia. He is contracted to Salavat Yulaev in the KHL. I was wondering if there is any way to bring him over to the NHL for his draft +1 year. he is contracted until May 12 of that year though. Is there anything I can do or is he just stuck there till his contract is up? It's currently June 27.

Someone might know a better answer, but unless his contract has a NHL release clause, then yes, you need to wait. You can always try to sign him to a ELC and see what the infopanel says.

EHMAssistant would let you cancel his contract, otherwise it's really hard to get players from Europe back to North America (harder the first time). Even canceling contracts isn't always enough. Often I have to crank up their adaptability and list my team as their favorite AND give them three staff they love here. Anything less will more oft than not see my offer rejected.
