Very excited to see Wilson out for 20 games. Good riddance!
I will not be able to watch but I'm curious to see how Kotkaniemi will do tonight in his first NHL game.

It's his 4th suspension in the last 104 or 105 NHL games (I forget which, I saw the number earlier). 4 suspensions in a season and a half. With that in mind, 20 is not nearly enough I think.

Seeing it that way you're kinda right but I still thought the NHL would give him less.

Wonder how much the next possible suspension will be

Very happy to see the Flyers start the season off with a solid win in Vegas, the offensive potential that this team has gives me hope for the future

He did really great, had smart plays. For a first NHL game really good! I'm a bit afraid he'll be like Mikeal Granlund as a Center man. High hockey IQ but too small to be a C.

Kotkaniemi won only 1 faceoff out of... like MANY in that game.
And yesterday I watched Miro Heiskanen play for the Stars. What a super D-man for a first NHL game. I had a blast watching him.
And Canucks Elias Pettersson is a beast!
One of these youngsters will for sure be a Calder nominee (or winner).

Talking about Wilson. I'd like to transfer him back to the 90's and take some from Scott Stevens, Chris Pronger, Eric Lindros, Darius Kasparaitis. And then fight Tie Domi and Bob Probert

Philly has done some very good drafts the past few years. They have a very bright future! I can assure that. And with Carter Hart, possible the best Goalie prospect in the world right now.

I maybe wouldn't call him the best goalie prospect in the world but he definitely has the potential to become one of the best goalies in the league. I hope we can rely on Elliott a bit more this season so as to not rush Hart into the league and let him properly develop, as that's also the way Hextall wants to do it.

Kotkaniemi is not THAT small. He's 6'1 and already weights 185 pounds I think. He can get to 200 easily in 1 or 2 years.

No, he's not that small. But "weak" might be the right word. And his foot speed is not the best either. Which reminds me of Granlund also. But that's something you can easily work on.

Well 2-0 for the Stars so far. Hopefully this will be a good season of health for Bishop. I'm still worried about the depth behind the top line, but so far so good

Glad to see that Rantanen and MacKinnon still have their chemistry. It's gonna be an awesome season!

I've seen a couple Leaf games on HNIC and I've been watching all of the NHL's "condensed games" highlight packages (currently watching last night's games); still early in the season...I've enjoyed what I've seen so far; lots of young talent!

2 in Top5 are Finns in scoring league leaders.

Don't think I've seen that before.

Rantanen is ahead of MacKinnon which is amazing. He's having a great start so far!
And how about Aho. Picked him in my fantasy team since he had a nice season last year but did not expected him to play with more than a ppg this year! I don't know if he'll keep the rythm but at least Carolina seems to have a decent team for once.

I don't have cable TV, just the internet, so the only full regular season games I watch are the HNIC games on Saturday night (online for free on CBC)...tonight's game between the Jets and Leafs was a very good game!
Best part was maybe at the end when Byfuglien could easily be heard loudly shouting "you gotta move!" at Laine when they were trying to break out of their own end

Laine has an amazing shot, but nothing else impresses me at all (he's almost always looks like one of the worst/slowest skaters I've ever seen in the NHL)
Matthews left the game early due to injury (good/clean hit by Trouba I thought); hopefully Matthews isn't seriously hurt

Laine can skate, when he wants to. He just seems very lazy. I've always thought that.

I've heard both about him actually. If he really wanted to skate with his shot, he would be unstoppable.

Pettersson is one hell of a player! He put to shame MacK and Rantanen.

I'm glad to have picked him in my fantasy team as well.

Really disappointed that Quenneville gets fired. It's Bowman who should get fired. Joel is one of the best coaches in the league it doesn't make sense.
Also has people seen the video where some Sens players are bashing the coaching staff? Seeing Duchene being part of that group isn't a big surprise. I'm so glad he's out of Colorado.

This truly sums it all up. CHI is in the position they are now because of Bowman, not much Quenneville could do about that. Bowman should have been fired some time ago. CHI mortgaged so much of their future for so long... and that's on Bowman.
