Lidas 3.0 Announcement

Post by Lidas »

Hi!

Over the last couple of months my free time has been greatly reduced, and I feel that I do not have time enough to provide you all a database of the same quality as I used to. Moving to a new country, starting a new job, taking care of my family is currently not possible to combine with spending 3 hours a day on the database as I used to.

Due to this, I am handing over the main responsibility of the database to Manimal, who has been working together with me with the DB for a long time.

If things changes, I might come back and help out with the database, but as it is now, its not possible for me to go on.

I hope you have all enjoyed what I have done for you over the years, and that the database will still continue beeing developed.

Yours,

Lidas

I for one can definitely say I appreciate the roster updates you've put out over the years. You've shown a lot of dedication to a game that has long since been forgotten about by most people, and stayed loyal to the remaining fanbase by being the main source of keeping the game alive. Thanks Lidas, and good luck. =D>

I totally understand your situation Lidas. Real life and family must come first! I, like everyone else, have really enjoyed the databases you've put so much work into and I seriously appreciate the amount of work you've done for this community. Just remember, ever though you're not doing the database anymore, you're still a welcome part of the community and you can participate in whatever ways you have time for (like the challenges).

As for Manimal taking over your work... I couldn't think of a better person to pick up the DB and keep it going. Good luck, Manimal!

I second B72's comments.

I can't thank you enough for all of the work you've put into your roster update over the past few years. Not only has it helped keep EHM alive but it has also kept TBL and the EHM community going. =D>

I truly believe Manimal is an excellent choice to continue your good work. I know he has made some really big contributions to your project. I am sure there are plenty of us here who will gladly help Manimal with the rosters.

First off, thank you Lidas! You have done a great job with the roster updates and we all appreciate it!
I am glad to be able to keep it going. In the past I have focused on the North American minor and junior- leagues and will continue to do so with the help of my "scouts".
I have just received the files from Lidas so I will add my research to it and complete the end of Lidas' work. Everyone, please let me know if there is a certain area or league you would like to help out with.

Before everyone asks, there is no timeframe available right now. I have not made up my mind as to what should be included in the first update. I dont want to release a bad version of it.

All help and opinions on the future of the Lidas roster update(yes, I hope he'll let me keep the name) is appreciated.

Let's make this awesome game even greater together!

Thank you Lidas AND Manimal :) Without your work and all the others who also contributed many of us, me included would probably not be playing EHM anymore or even hanging around the forums. I hope you eventually get the time to come back and be a part of things here, Lidas. Family and work certainly do come first though and don't forget that! :-D

There's not much to add to what everybody already have said here, so I'll only thank you for my part also. Your dedication has been admirable, good luck to your new work, to your moving to a new country and take care! I hope we will still see you here and hear how it all works out.

And thanks to Manimal too for taking charge of the db development! I don't know a thing of what involves in it, but if there's anything I could do, I have some spare time in the evenings every now and then...

Thank you Lidas for all the hard work! EHM would have been boring without your updates.

And to Manimal: Thank you for continuing the legacy of Lidas rosters.
