Phoenix Coyotes Errors/Omissions
So nice to see Lidas 2.0 out. Great work!
Some tweaks for the Coyotes:
* Grant Fuhr is now in prospect development and not a coach. Possibly move him to a director of personnel position.
* Sean Burke is now goaltender coach.
* The Coyotes' farm system only has the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) and San Antonio Rampage (AHL). Phoenix "shares" the Rampage affiliation with the Ducks. Phoenix is no longer affiliated with either Laredo Bucks or Arizona Sundogs.
* Missing prospects: Igor Samoilov (D)
* Wayne Gretzky is no longer the managing director of the Phoenix Coyotes.
* John Muckler is no longer Director of Personnel. The closest position in the current management team is "Director of Hockey Administration" which is filled by Chris O'Hearn.
* Head scout should be Frank Effinger.
* Patrik Augusta and Robert Nordmark are no longer scouting for the Coyotes.
* Add John Bernal as a trainer. Jukka Nieminen is technically a massage therapist and not a trainer but doesn't hurt to keep him in.

Forgot to add - as for player ratings they're all spot on IMO except for Zbynek Michalek. Michalek is an assistant captain this year so an influence and teamwork rating of 10-10 seems low. If it were me I would adjust determination to be at least 15, influence to 15, and teamwork to at least 16. The rest of his ratings are completely subjective of course but I think those tweaks would bring him more in line with the way the actual team considers him.
As for Fuhr/Burke, it just occurred to me that you could just switch them so Burke is with Phx. and Fuhr is with San Antonio.

Couple of small things I've noticed thus far:
*Daniel Rahimi's rights are still with the Canucks, he should be with the Sharks.
*Several players, including Brad Boyes, Phil Kessel, etc are listed as centers when they both play RW. Center should probably be set as their secondary position.
*Peter Forsberg is a UFA in the game. I understand why, but it kind of upsets the balance of the game. I think he should probably be retired in this version of the DB until an NHL team actually signs him.
*Lorne Henning is listed as a scout for the Canucks. Technically, he is an Assistant GM, but I can see why you can't implement that.
Thank you so much for all the hard work you put in to this, Lidas! I'll be sure to make a donation later.

The San Antonio affiliation will kept shared with ANH since they have loaned a couple of players there IRL. It really destroys a team in the game if they are kept with only an ECHL affiliation.

I gave the Forsberg issue a lot of thought, before I decided to keep him (greatly downgraded though). He has played with a Swedish team (MODO), he is playing with the national team right now, and a lot of NHL and KHL teams are chasing him, so I decided to keep him as a part of the database. He still has max injury proeness...

Sorry, I wasn't clear - I was making sure you knew about the PHX/ANH deal with SA. Naturally, I forgot to check the Ducks to confirm...Lidas wrote:Thanks, Ill fix your PHX changes for 2.1

One more thing - I don't know for sure the status of Aleksandr Tatarinov because a couple of KHL prospects aren't listed on the Coyotes' depth chart, but I THINK Phoenix might have released his rights.

One thing I hesitated to bring up but I may as well since I'm being so verbose
Steve Peters is actually the video coach for the Coyotes, so I'm wondering if he might actually be better placed as a scout (i.e. the "next opponent" scout) rather than an assistant coach. But that's a judgment call which I'll leave in your capable hands.

came here to post this very same thingCircularTheory wrote:Really quick thing:
Cam Fowler doesn't appear in the draft. In fact, I can sign him as an 18-year old defenseman with a 1-2 dman potential
also hejduk's extension isnt included, but apparently you did that on purpose
I also agree that forsberg should probably not be signable day 1 in the game, i signed him as the avs and just stuffed him on IR as soon as he got hurt in practice (sept 13th lol) so i will just keep him on IR until he signs with the avs later this season

I noticed a couple of NTCs are missing, including Brian Campbell, Robyn Regehr, Sean Avery (he was moved by waivers, still has an NTC though), Scott Hannan, Stephen Weiss and Roberto Luongo, among others.
On the issue of extensions, I think that if the extension doesn't significantly change their cap hit, it should be implemented in the game. For example, Luongo's extension has a $5.33M cap hit whereas hit contract for this season has a $6.75M cap hit. The difference there is pretty significant, so I would reccomend not adding that one, however you should add in his NTC which kicks in at the end of this season.
On the other hand, guys like Tuukka Rask and Rich Peverley got extensions that have relatively insignificant cap difference - Rask has a cap hit gain of about $0.4M, and Peverley has a cap hit gain of $0.8M. I think that if an extension does not increase the cap hit by more then $1M, it should be implemented into the DB by taking the average of every salary year (as if one were calculating cap hit on that contract if the pre-extension and post-extension salaries were averaged). That way one still gets to have some players with extensions to at least make the game somewhat more accurate. While it may be annoying to possibly see guys like Rick Nash and Luongo become UFAs, it would really screw up cap numbers for some teams and possibly unbalance some teams.
Speaking of which, Rick Nash is set to actually become an RFA in this game. He should be set to become a UFA, but I'm not sure how to change that without changing his age.
Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add NTCs in the pre-game editor. Could you possibly explain how to do that, Lidas? Thanks a lot.

Just some things in Färjestad.
A. Pihlström - Squad # 41.
K. McDonell - Squad # 15.
R. Sterner - Squad # 18.
G. Thorell - Squad # 26.
M. Nygren - Contract ends 2011 (2008 in game).
Jens Skålberg is on loan to TPS (Turun Palloseura) this season from Färjestad. So maybe he should be contracted to Färjestad and not to TPS. Not a big issue though.

I have no ideas why the game does like this. He is created the same way as all other players. I have double-checked him, and can't find anything weird. Sorry, but there is nothing I can do about himCircularTheory wrote:Really quick thing:

I have added NTCs where possible (I believe I wrote that in the readme too). The game is created so that a player needs to be at least 32 years old to be eliglible to get a NTC.Canuckk wrote:I noticed a couple of NTCs are missing, including Brian Campbell, Robyn Regehr, Sean Avery (he was moved by waivers, still has an NTC though), Scott Hannan, Stephen Weiss and Roberto Luongo, among others.
I want to be consequent here, and skip ALL extentions. I dont think its right to implement some and skip some.Canuckk wrote:On the issue of extensions, I think that if the extension doesn't significantly change their cap hit, it should be implemented in the game. Took me a long time to figure this one out. If these three requirements are filled, the game will set a NTC.Canuckk wrote:Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add NTCs in the pre-game editor. Could you possibly explain how to do that, Lidas? Thanks a lot.
1. The players needs to be at least 32 years old.
2. The player needs to have a current reputation of at least 145.
3. The current needs to have a loyalty value of at least 16.

First off, thanks to Lidas for the awesome work. A couple of things I noticed for the Wings. I know I might be a noob about things but here it goes...
Daren Helm is listed as a 13 speed, with all of the hype about him, I would think he is at least a 18. If Datsyuk is a 17, I would think Helm would be as fast if not faster.
Erricson's shot is underrated I believe. I have heard reports his slap shot can touch triple digits.
Finally, looking at Brendan Smith, with a 7.5 c on hockeysfuture seems a bit underrated in the game.
Player ratings are for the most part a matter of opinion and this is just my .02, as I said thanks Lidas!

Regarding tweaks, I'll give my view of my favorite team IF Malmö Redhawks:
Jani Hurme is struggling and has been injured a lot, he's nowhere as good as he was before and should be downgraded a lot. Meanwhile, Markus Svensson has been the best player for Malmö and should be upgraded quite a lot.. one of the best, if not the best, keeper in SEL-2.

i want to thank you on your work lidas, but i have a few opinions.
for the game not to try and sign every ufa goalie you should set most starting goalies this season with ca 150 and over.
examples of goalie with to low ca is
craig anderson colorado
mike smith tampa
dan ellis nashville
pascal leclaire ottawa
semen varlamov washington.
ilya bryzgalov phoenix
jonas gustafsson toronto
and loui eriksson of dallas play rw, fabian brunnström plays rw
phil kessel is a rw/lw/c
danny briere is a C/rw
shane doan is a rw/lw

Actually, it's quite simple to fix this. All you have to do is create a clone of him and delete the original Cam Fowler and it works. I just did it myself, worked perfectly.Lidas wrote:I have no ideas why the game does like this. He is created the same way as all other players. Interesting info about the NTCs though, kind of silly actually how hard it is to make a player with an NTC. Thanks for letting me know though.
