This past weekend I began making player cards for the mod that I was going to use for myself. But after finishing the first team, the Chicago Blackhawks, I though it would be good to share these, and now with Pens okay, here we go!
Building on all the work Pen did, I take the players he created fro each team he modded and make cards for them. So using Chicago I made the 22 player cards. I popped them into a zipped team pack and BOOM, we have a download!
I will also make cards for the Russian Free Agents after NHL teams are done
Now this first pack was simple. Straight pictures with no additional graphics. Out of the 22 players I managed to find 21 pictures of the actual players, 18 of them in the correct Hawks unis. For three they were in different unis and the one player I couldn’t find any graphic of I simply used a different Hawk from the same era and there is the pack. The read me actually lists who is correct and who is in what uni ect ect for those who care!
Now noticing a lot of you prefer the card templates with bells and whistles. I took 20 minutes this am and did a rough template that can also be used for the mod. So below is version 1 examples of the template. Using the O-Pee-Chee cards from 79/80 as a guide I came up with what you see. Theres still a little fine tuning, but you get the idea.
I had to trade off a couple of things in starting the template, otherwise I feel its just too busy, but Ill reiterate, its VERY early in the template part of this project.
I would prefer to make straight pictures as players do get traded, but after doing all the teams I may go back and do them with the template as well. At the very least Ill make the template available when done.
