You can already do that in EHM. That's one of those things you learn playing in online leagues. I don't know which league you're in, but ask the commish and he'll tell you the secret.

What could be cool is the "phone" thing Dabo showed us. Online it could be pretty cool to "phone" other people live in the game, don't know if it could be possible though.

Changing offer privacy is not a secret.

Click Yes or No where it says 'Make Offer Public'. It's right under the Contract Type and contract length settings on the contract offer screen.

That's actually already something in EHM (chatting), so maybe it won't be too far out of the question.

Hmmmm
So someone erased my post?
I thought it was a polite attempt to express what I felt was an important element of EHM.

Sorry if I wasn't helpful.
](*,)

Let me be a little more direct.
An online sports game in the year 2010 must have online capability. One of the reasons people didn't buy EHM 2007 was because it took a bad online function and made it impossible.

They actually went backwards in interactive/online function, which is about a bad a move as a gaming company can make.

So if you guys all want to erase every post that suggests online function is important, if not critical, go right ahead.

Just know that it will be EHMtheblueline, the people who claim to carry the torch for EHM, who are helping make sure that all of Dabo's work is good for nothing.

Dabo, if you're interested in any online features that I feel would be helpful, send me a private message.

Actually, I believe the purpose of this thread is to openly discuss features people feel would be helpful with regard to online capabilities. So I would suggest you do that here rather than via PM.

What I think people are getting bugged by are discussions about how important an online function is. Dabo's already said it's in the plan - just a later stage. No further discussion on it's importance should be needed then. He's even provided for the possibility that he may need help with it to get it done in an earlier phase. What more do you want than that?

There. That's my $0.02.

If they are bugged by what I wrote, then they have issues.
As a long time EHM guy I wanted to state my opinion on what is important to me.

People think hidden attributes are important. Others don't.
Having a picture of what the potential audience likes is important.

There was no just cause to erase my harmless post and doing so only creates needless acrimony.

Sorry about the missing post, newsguyone. I think your previous post was an unfortunate casualty. This thread has been derailed into an argument over the importance of online, and was beginning to get aggressive, with insults beginning to be thrown. As a result, posts had to be removed to prevent it from getting worse.

I read your previous post, and I think it was fine - So don't worry, I don't think it's removal was anything against you or what you wanted to say.

Newsguyone - sorry, it's not my intention to censor anybody on TBL. As Brian has explained, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your post. It was an unfortunate casualty of my trashing the posts that were discussing whether online play is better than offline play or vice versa. This thread has become completely derailed and I have been trying for nearly a week to encourage users to get back on track. As I have said many times this week, everybody is entitled to their own opinion as to how they want to play EHM. I don't want to censor users but I unfortunately I have had to take control and try and steer this thread away from the confrontation and needless aggression that has ensued. I initially had no problem with users discussing how much of a priority online play has but it has resulted in too much aggression/confrontation/etc thus I request that we put an end to that line of discussion. So I hope you can understand the motivation behind this. Regardless, I have reinstated your post as you are right - it's not contentious.

==========================================================================

I hope this is the last of any discussion about whether online/offline is good/bad. One user has been given a permanent ban from TBL as not only he has refused to calm down but he posted a very offensive PM to one of our Mods (I have never seen anything like it in the six years of running this site). I hate banning people but sometimes they leave us with no choice. We spend a great deal of time and effort running this site for free and we don't need any of the kinds of insults that the offending PM included. Thus for the sake of harmony I am asking that we now move on to the topic of what features we would like to see added to DHM or any future hockey management game.
