14.1 Trading players
This is the method used by North American leagues.
There are two methods of approaching to trade. Firstly, the ‘approach to trade’ option may be selected from the action menu of the Player Profile Screen. Secondly, the same option may be selected from the action menu of a team’s Roster Screen.
It says to do this, but when I go to that screen, the choice "approach to trade", is not there. Just about everything you can do to a player to be included in a transaction is there, like waiving him or buying his contract out. I know I just started the game and its on its 2nd day of the season, but I see other teams making trade offers, so why can't I? Thanks.

It would seem from your comments that you are on your own team's page, you need to go to the opposing teams and select the option to 'approach to trade' with one of them... go to another team's roster page and you should find it. It does dissappear during a trade freeeze/after the deadline but since you say you're on day 2 there is no trade freeze on for the NHL.

This is true and I think it lowers their trade value as well.munky wrote:You can't approach to trade your own guys, but you can put them on the market. Go to 'Set Status' and select one of the 'Available' options. I haven't had a whole lot of success with that though. I hardly ever get offers, the only thing that happens for me is the player's morale drops.
