BU beat their biggest rival Boston College tonight to win the Hockey East Championship 2-1 in Overtime. It was a hard fought game until Yip scored the winning goal with less than 3 minutes left in the 1st overtime period.
Now, on to the NCAA Championship. I can't wait.
This BU team came from being unranked in the first 20 games of the season to be ranked 4th in the nation, finish first in the regular season, win the Beanpot, and now win the Hockey East Championship. I'm totally psyched.

Was that the Beanpot game??
Sorry about my ignorance about it...its hard to follow NCAA hockey over here!!!
I really hope I can follow a bit of the Frozen Four on a stream, would really like to see some college or Minor Junior league hockey, but its nearly impossible over here...
And by the way, are u BU or BC fan??
...and finally, who has a strong team this year??? I suppose that Minnesota with Kessel has a good one...

This was the Hockey East division Championship game. The Beanpot is a tournament that happens in February between the 4 local colleges here in Boston. It's Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University, and Harvard. You win a trophy for that tournament and bragging rights but that's about it. It's a lot of fun to watch though and the teams always play hard to win it.
The Hockey East division championship is a more official post-season tournament for college hockey. I believe the winner also gets an automatic seed in the NCAA national championship.
Minnesota has a very strong team, as does Wisconsin, Miami of Ohio (not Florida), Boston University, and Michigan State - just to round out the Top 5 ranked teams. I don't get to watch too much hockey from other parts of the country so I haven't seen many of the teams outside of the North East.
I went to Boston University and graduated from there, so I'm definitely a BU fan. The way the bracket is set up this year, BU could face BC again in the second round.
The NCAA basketball tournament gets all the TV coverage here, so we're lucky if we get to watch any of the first or second round matches in the hockey tournament as well. The Frozen Four is almost always broadcast. ESPN2 carried it the last few years.
