2010-11 Fantasy Hockey Sign-up
ESPN should be cutting the ribbon any minute now on 2010 Fantasy Hockey.
And so... sign-up is officially open for TBL fantasy hockey! Applications will be for the Octavian Hockey League, our tier-two league. It's a brand new league, so we have up to 14 teams available (3 places reserved for last year's relegated GMs. If you're one of those three relegated last year, just post here with everyone else if you wish to keep playing, otherwise your reserved spot will go public).
Just post here if you want to play with us this year! And if you don't have an e-mail address listed in your TBL profile, please post it here when you post your interest, so I have somewhere to send the invite.
Also note: Should the need arise, applicants will be favored according to TBL post-count. But with a full 14 teams to work with, I really don't think we'll be that full.
So, Let's get it on! Sign-ups are open!
Current Sign-ups, as of 19 September:

Current OHL sign-ups and TBL post counts:
1. LoXish ... pending
2. Andyjayp ... pending
---
3. timmy_t ... 546
4. visualdarkness ... 412
5. rottamies ... 85
6. macdman ... 17
*Our top two users will have priority regardless of post count, since they were two of our three relegated GMs last year. If they decide to play again this year, they'll be guaranteed a team.

Yes, it's certainly possible to stop playing during the year. However, our main goal is to keep the league active so it remains fun and competitive; we (me especially) wouldn't want people planning to leave in the middle of the season.Flying_Buffalo26 wrote:It's long ago I was in here, but I am looking forward to the new season and would like to participate... I'd like to know if it's possible to leave the fantasy league during the year? I think i posted my email at my profile, if not pls let me know,
Thanks
That would mean I'd have to hunt someone down in the middle of the year to take over an already existing team for only the remainder of the season. That may not be too attractive, or fun, to a lot of people... which runs the risk of no one wanting to take the spot, and everyone else being stuck with a dead team in the league. Plus, I can see there being a few complaints from other GM's regarding the competitiveness of anyone who doesn't plan to be there at the end.

Obviously It's not my purpose to leave the league halfway into it. Anyways, I am sure that you can understand that sometimes you can't put into it too much time, this year will be a pretty tough one, got to study a lot.B. However, the worst thing that can happen is that I won't have so much time, but I will try to be there as much as possible/necessary...
I would still appreciate to participate,
THanks for your fast reply and regards

Good news, I've sent all of you an invite to the Octavian Hockey League using the email provided in your profiles.
I figured I'd throw out the idea of giving priority to TBL post count. There's only a couple weeks left before the draft, and plenty of spots left to be had, so I really doubt we'll need it. So, sign-up will now be first-come-first-served.
Sign-up will close a few days before the draft on the 3rd of October, or when the league is full.

Agreed. ty.B. Stinson wrote:I appreciate the extra interest, however, being so heavily based here at TBL, I'd prefer to keep the leagues restricted to TBL users only. I think it just keeps things more appealing and fun for the other GM's when everyone contributes to the activity here in the forums.
