Kuulapaa, I'm really surprised that Mason made the Top Ten Goalies list. That's got to be a nice thing.
I'm surprised you lost Lever on your farm team. Then again, I replaced him right away in my game. I hired Bob Francis to be the head coach for my Chicago team. Lever wasn't bad but Francis was better and I thought he'd be great for my youngsters. I also got him some great assistants. We rely so heavily on developing our own talent, it's important to have the best people training our prospects.
I'm just wrapping up a fairly successful pre-season and I'm about to start the regular season. We'll see how my tactics work and keep our fingers crossed hoping everyone stays healthy!

Enström has struggled for me as well, Oduya though had a great second season with +16 and 7.04. He is missing the third season wich is very bad for my ambitions.blueshirtnParis wrote:Oduya has been pretty bad for me -7 and a 6.58. Thought not as bad as -16 for Enstrom. In fact I got no D in the +
I picked up Backman as well for AGM.

I think I remember something like that happening earlier... Young players turning UFA in spite of them being offered contracts. What do we do if something like this comes up, under the Challenge rules? Would be painful to see your prospects just walk away...Daelh wrote:Oh and Kane and Ladd did not resign for me after season two, and hold on guys. EVANDER KANE BECAME UFA.... wich means that i could't resign him because of him wanted 3.5p/y... stupid game... thats not fair at all.

I guess we'd need some sort of proof (screenshots) that they were supposed to RFAs. Maybe show a screen of the qualifying offer. If you can show that, they we could allow you to try to sign that player (as a UFA) without them counting as a UFA signing. Beyond that, there's not much else that can be done.Círyatan wrote:I think I remember something like that happening earlier... Young players turning UFA in spite of them being offered contracts. Has anyone else run into this? It's also possible that Daelh offered Kane a contract but it wasn't enough to be a qualifying contract. It might not have been enough. He could have already been over budget and his board might not have let him offer the qualifying amount.

I can definitely remember something like this happening to me during the Avalanche Challenge. It was some fringe player that time, like Dupuis or Mercier, can't remember now. No-one as important as Kane. I also remember some other participant signing Kyle Turris for their second season (yes, I am aware that signing Under-24 UFAs is illegal under Challenge rules), which might have also been related to this issue (it's difficult for me to imagine the Coyotes letting go of Turris, though I've seen stranger things happening in EHM
).
Maybe keeping the screenshot of the last expiring contracts summary would be a good idea?

My budget was at 50m/y and my caphit at 43 when i tried to sign Kane to a new contract. I tried to sign a new contract with him all year long but he didnt want to negoiate a new one. Then i thought that, yeah well he will be RFA so I can sign him then, but I lost my rights to him the same day that he became FA.... I dont know why it turned out that way.bruins72 wrote:I guess we'd need some sort of proof (screenshots) that they were supposed to RFAs. Maybe show a screen of the qualifying offer. I'm surprised I was able to squeeze into the playoffs in my first season. Andrew Ladd and Antropov basically carried my team. Then When I called up Klingberg in the playoffs he did not fail to produce. Kane came out in the second half of the season, after shuffling him between the third and second line. I kept him on the second line with Dawes and Little and he semed to do fine there.

So at the 20 game mark of season 1, we're holding our own. We were ranked 30th in the season preview but are sitting 7th in the East. Antropov is leading every category. Enstrom was injured for 3 weeks so he's played in 8 games but he has 2 assists and is a plus 6.
Chicago is really clicking now after a slow start. Drew McIntyre is a horse (10-3). and Klingberg is doing very well. Chicago is leading the division at 10-4.
I sent Pasquale, Burmistrov, O'Dell, and Paquette all back to juniors because I figured they would get more playing time there than in Chicago or Gwinett, even though they are all overagers. Paquette is the only one that seems to be struggling.

Burmistrov can play two seasons in Barrie and not beeing overaged. Landed 160 points in his second year with Barrie and in his first season with my Thrashers(season 3) he has 45 points in 55 games so far, centering the second line with Slater and Bergfors.Loosie wrote:So at the 20 game mark of season 1, we're holding our own. Just finished season 1, came 12th in the east with 38-41-3. Byfuglen won the Hart and Norris despite not playing D at even strength or shorthanded, Antropov won the Pearson and he and Byfuglen were first team all stars.
My PK killed me as we allowed over 100 PP goals throughout the season. I was pretty happy with the results as we finished with an even 298 gf/298 ga.

I am preparing for this challange waaaaay slower then usual. Yesterday I did set up my training and started entering players data i spred sheet. Anyway, did any of you sign your prospects in first season?
Looking at standings those with over 50% in first year did really great. I have also noticed that pp is never higher then 20%. Did you disregard setting good pp tactic or we just lack players for it?
I hope that in next few days I will finally start playing

You should really look at your training/practice schedules and now many minutes per game that you play these guys. I wonder if you're overdoing it.blueshirtnParis wrote:And there goes Bergfors out for 4 monthsblueshirtnParis wrote:Ugh, Ladd out 4 months and Mason out 1 month. Rough start for me.![]()

Helloooooo lottery pick!!!
Mason was broken arm in game> Cant really play him less then 60 per game
Bergfors ACL in game as well> Avg 15min per game
Just bad breaks (or tears) I think.
I dont let anyone go under 92% is practice without getting a rest or light schedule>

It took me to the 4th game of the season to get my first win. I lost the first 2 games by a goal in regulation. Then the 3rd game I lost in OT. Then I finally won my 4th game, again by just 1 goal, against the Bruins. Of course, at this time I lost Eager to an injury. He's gone for 2 weeks. Then the next day I lose Stewart for a few days (he's playable). Oh and in the first game of the season, Buffy got a game misconduct for a cross check and was suspended for 2 games. Zubarev came up in relief.

And down goes Ladd for another 3 weeks. In game rotator cuff strain, 3min into game. Ive been playing this game for years and have never seen so many key long term injuries. I have to think its bad luck, or maybe this team just hits too much>blueshirtnParis wrote:And there goes Bergfors out for 4 monthsblueshirtnParis wrote:Ugh, Ladd out 4 months and Mason out 1 month. Helloooooo lottery pick!!!
So 25th in entire league, 8 games to play, only 3 points ahead of 29th place.
Something had to give so out goes Ramsey and in comes the AGM Per Backman. Marc Crawford steps in as AGM and coach in waiting.

Are you still in your first season? Has it been at least 6 months since Backman has been hired? Any new head coach must have already been with the team for 6 months before becoming head coach.blueshirtnParis wrote: Something had to give so out goes Ramsey and in comes the AGM Per Backman.
