How have you managed without having an AHL team as an affiliate? Or are you using a different database to Lidas 2.3?

I've started a game as the Panthers, I'm unable to send any players to my two ECHL teams because of full rosters.

I've had trouble sending them to the ECHL, there seems to be some kind of time frame now.
If you don't have your players in the ECHL on say day A, by day B they have a full roster.

Entering the 2019/20 season now still looking for that first cup, I've finished top of the Western last 4 years, but my players always bottle it in the playoffs, only managed to make the SC final twice, lost both teams to Atlanta >.>

Atlanta have a stud team as well, even though they are usually average in the regular season.

Had to trade some top talent as I hit salary cap problems, *sniff*, some long serving players as well, have to trade my third line center as well, as he thinks he's a franchise C, and he probably is, but he's only my 3rd line C and I can't afford to pay him 4.5m , he has great stamina, hasn't missed a game for me since he made his debut for me 7 years ago :-o

Noping some of my younger players who have been developing in the AHL can step up and lead me to that elusive cup.

Hey, I might not be very good at this game, but I can't wait for that first cup :p
Update, end of my 2020/21 campaign, another useless playoff effort.

That being said I was missing 2 of my top 6 [including my best C] so I suppose we were at long odds anyway.

Our playoffs in 20/21 were just ridiculous, we lost all 4 games that went to OT in the playoffs out of the 11 games we played

Might trade away my 2 time Vezina winner, he was rubbish during the regular season posting up a 2.85 GAA and 0.903 SV%, he was better during the playoffs, but I need a goaltender who can keep the play up. Might give him one more season though given the awards he's won in the last couple of years.

I'll go round again and see if we can change our luck, thinking I'm gonna shake up my roster this offseason again, get some of my better performing prospects in, and some veteran presence in.

Fingers crossed!
Just finished the 21/22 season. I thought this was the season, hey my top line put up 87 points between them in 20 games, and we still somehow didn't get over the line, no matter what I do I can't get enough scoring out of my third line.

Went down to the very average Blackhawks in 7, in Game 3 is where it started to go wrong, was up 2-1 with 4 minutes to go, dman with the giveaway, they go on the breakaway and score. Then he gives up a penalty in the last minute and they score with 37 seconds left on the PP to win the game. I won game 4, then lost 3-1, 6-5 [OT] and 3-1. The officiating went from even to very pro Blackhawks as well, so frustrated. I'm destined not to win the cup I reckon

To rub salt into the wounds they agreed it was very poor officiating in game 7, but they took no action against him. Sigh.

Gotta make some roster changes this off-season and hopefully somehow in 2022/23 I can win the cup, fingers crossed once again!
Ok this game officially hates me. Barely 20 games into the season, my #1 center is out for 4 months with a UCL tear, my #1 Dman and captain is out for 4 months with...you guessed it a UCL tear. My LW power forward is out for 3 weeks with a fractured wrist. And my top RW and top goalscorer is suffering a fair bit as well.

All in all, I'll be happy to make playoffs!

Ok I could honestly cry at this game, right before the playoffs my #1 tender goes down with....you guessed it, a UCL tear! So have to call my young backup into the fray and what happens next is ridiculous. I go up 3-0 in the series against the Kings, end up losing 4-3 after they scored 9 seconds left in Game 7 to win it. Epic collapse is epic.

I must of had the worst luck ever, 5 of the 7 games NHL agreed reffing was terrible and the referee was dropped / under review, ironically the Kings won 4 of those 5 games. This game just hates me.

Don't know what I can do really! PP goes from 22% in the season to 10% in the playoffs, PK drops from 88% to 70% in the playoffs, we just decide to play terribly! I give up :-D

Oh yeah out of the 8 playoff series in the NHL [4 west 4 east] 3 teams lost from 3-0 up [me, Flames and Rangers], while the Blues were 3-1 and ended up winning 4-3. Has that ever happened? haha

I don't know is this the best topic for this, but my (San Jose) goalie prospect Taylor Dakers has good season in ECHL: last month he won 4 awards at same day: ECHL Saver of the Month, ECHL Rookie of the Month, ECHL Performer of the Month and ECHL Player of the Month 8-) He has won 19 games of 33 and he has 7 shutouts, conceding 1.83 goals average.

My 2nd fastest hattrick: 'Canes Tuomo Ruutu scored 3 goals in 2:28 8-) He also assisted one goal made by Eric Belanger.

However, I lost 4-5 to Maple Leafs :-(

Running the Flames, only moves I've made are a few cap relief moves with the biggest being a trade with NJ for Zubrus.

Also traded Henrik Karlsson for Patrick Lalime - a steal!

Brent Sutter is coaching all my games and running practice, its working really well so far, 20-11-2 record 3rd in the West.

Sutter's Flames:

Iginla-Zubrus-Tanguay
Bourque-Morrison-Hagman
Glencross-Backland-Stajan
Primeau-Conroy-Jackman

Giordano-Bouwmeester
Babchuk-Sarich
Pardy-Staios

Kipper
Lalime

Sorry that this is so long winded....

I just purchased the game recently, so I'm in my first season and I play as the Penguins, who, beyond their core players of Fleury, Malkin, Crosby, and Staal aren't really that good in this game.

With the core locked up for several seasons, not to mention the poor draft class in '07, in my opinion, I've made a couple trades - Godard for a 5th rounder, first and second rounders to secure a little more D - I landed Nick Boynton from the Hawks and Tyler Myers from the Sabres. With those trades I also lost Tyler Kennedy and Chris Kunitz (cap hit and team worst -15 was the reason he had to go).

Forwards: Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Dupuis, Cooke, Tangradi (out for 3 months), Letestu, Adams, Rupp, Talbot, Comrie (bust), and Asham. I think the farm is rather thin (at least in the game it is). Staal is having a ROY type season and Malkin is actually trailing him in points.

D: Martin, Michalek, Orpik, Boynton, Myers, Goligoski, Letang on the bench and Lovejoy at the AHL level. Unfortunately, Engelland has horrible attributes in this game - He's at the ECHL.

Netminders: Fleury and Johnson. Fleury can be really good at times and really bad at times...just like real life! Johnson sucks in the game (he's won once in 7 games if I recall correctly with a GAA over 4) while Fleury is around a 2.50 and .910-.920 save % - What stands out to me is he's second in shutouts with 6.

I signed Bylsma to an extension and also grabbed a couple fired head coaches (Jacques Martin and the other has slipped my mind at the moment) and signed them as assistants as the Pens didn't have the greatest staff to begin with.

Right now, I'm hovering in and out of the playoff picture - I have a few games in hand on a few teams that are also on the bubble, so I should be able to sneak in, probably as the 5 or 6 seed - Just depends on how the rest of the season goes (I'm 50 couple games in). Somehow, I'm top 10 in goals scored, goals allowed, PK%, PP%, and I'm on the bubble!!?? :dunno:

I made it to the second round of the playoffs and lost 4 games to 1 to the Detroit Red Wings, they went on to defeat the Devils in 6 to win the Stanley Cup.

Pretty mad that I only made it to the second round after finishing 2nd in the West and winning my division by a mile, but I'm going to re-tool a bit (adding a first line center) during the offseason and come back strong next year.

I pretty much did the same, except I'm in the East and I lost in the first round of the play offs. It was to a Penguins team that only qualified for the play offs on their last game. They beat me 4-2 in the series. Oh, I'm the Rangers incase anyone was wondering.

Ovechkin had an amazing season for the Capitals. Other people have seen players have better seasons, but I haven't seen anyone perform this well before. The Capitals won the Presidents Trophy and the Stanley Cup.

I finished 9th in my first full season with the Pens. I was 3rd about half way through the season, but some how I tanked all the way out of the playoffs. The Flyers snagged the 8th and final spot over me by one point...bummer.

Just went trade crazy with 3.0 DB. So use to playing with challenge rules and stuff I wanted to have some fun. Picked up a ton of regen draft picks. Got Larsson in the first draft.

Also playing another save just for the sake of having a redicously awesome team. Someone had made an all invalid roster, I took that and then made myself as a player with all 20's. Picked myself in the draft and now after 21 seasons I have 7000 odd points. The game completely makes it's own players, but they suck. Like really badly haha.

Left NY Rangers after nine seasons as GM, just lost the 2017-18 cup to BlackHawks. Did win three cups during my time there.
Just took over Skelleftea in the Allsvenskan, they were almost relegated last season. Brought in three ex-ranger farmhands, including the would-be starting goalie (4th round pick in 2012). Struggling around the halfway point of the season, barely keeping out of the bottom three (for relegation).
Unlike my NHL time, I’m trying to do the tactics. That’s not working too well, at one point my goals against was highest in the league by wide margin. Recently won 4 out of 6, so I’m hoping things are turning around. I need some depth at center and apparently a new goalie.

So, I was in my third or fourth season. I was Detroit Red Wings, Grand Rapids Griffins and Tampa Bay Lightning. Then the game got destroyed during a saving process...and Franzén had started that season with 22 games played, 28 goals and 54 points...

Starting over with Detroit and Grand Rapids.

Lesson learned: get a good back up goalie.

We were up 3-0 in the 2042 Eastern Conference Finals when injuries started piling up. Our starter, top D and first line LW and C each had to sit out some of the remaining games... All the subs and the acquired deadline depth did at least good, except the back up goalie who blew two games by himself (4 goals in the first period anyone?)...

It looks like my homegrown 28 years-old starter will hit the free market July 1st. Might be time for a change between the pipes. The guy has been good, yet inconsistent. He has two Cup rings as backup when he was young. In his five years as starter, we have only made it once to the Finals (last year loss to San Jose).

Started a new game with Avalanche. My goal is to make new Avalanche dynasty. At the beginning, i hired some veteran players to the team, because almost everyone in this team is under 30 years old, and i would get raped in the playoffs.

After 18 games played, there has been some suprises:

T.Fleischmann leads team with 21 points (10+11)

Avalanche is leading Western confrence with 25 pts, as the Wings have 24 pts, and Kings 23 pts.

Anderson is just a BEAST. Sv% 0.927, and GAA 2.35. He has also 1 SO (Budaj has 1 also), and AVR 8.86 (Budaj 8.0).

Lines:

Fleischmann-Stastny-C.Stewart
Mueller-Duchene-Knuble
S.Walker-O`Reilly-Hejduk
Koci-Chubarov-D.Clarkson

Liles-Preissing
Quincey-Wilson
Hunwick-Foote

Anderson
Budaj

Backups: Cumiskey and Kaleta.

Statistics:
Name GP G A P PIM +/-
Tomas Fleischmann 18 10 11 21 10 5
Matt Duchene 18 7 12 19 18 4
Chris Stewart 18 10 9 19 29 13
Mike Knuble 13 6 10 16 10 9
Paul Stastny 13 4 10 14 12 13

Plus, Koci 108 PIM in 12 games, not bad :).

New game as Toronto Maple Leafs, during the regular season I acquired Mason Raymond, Jacob Markstrom, Jordan Eberle, Louis Leblanc and Zack Kassian in trades. From those trades I had to depart with Mike Zigomanis, Jonas Gustavsson, Mike Komisarek, Francois Beauchemin, Clarke MacArthur and 2 prospects but so far the future of my team looks bright :joy:

My team reached the first round of the Playoffs only to be knocked off 4-1 by the Buffalo Sabres . I blame my teams lack of depth in veteran defensemen and centers for our early dismissal. My number one player that season was Phil Kessel with season stats, GP 79 / G 46 / A 55 = P 101 and +/- 11

At the NHL Entry Draft 2007, I picked up Brandon Saad 22st overall along with some diamonds in the rough (Thank you so much EHM Scout). With the early Playoff snub still fresh on my mind, I was busy during the NHL Free Agency and we welcomed Brad Richards, Erik Cole and Simon Gagne to our team.

As of right now, the end of October is nearing but I still haven't found an answer to our defensemen dilemma but I'm going to continue riding on my high horse because our prospects are starting to shine :-D

Playing as the Islanders and their affiliates. Isles have totally sucked it up (like in real life!) and haven't made the playoffs. (14-3-2 thus far in 2010!)

Lost in the finals with both Bridgeport and Utah. Utah was ridiculous with Mikko Koskinen in net. I had a few guys score 70 points or more but nothing spectacular. It was all goaltending and defense that got me there. I lost to Springfield who probably had one of the most ridiculous seasons I have ever seen, losing less than 15 games. No way i was beating those guys. I think I won one game in the series.

Bridgeport battled through the playoffs, sweeping the first two rounds until eventually losing to Manitoba in 6. It was weird because they started off hot, then died and made a ridiculous run at the end to secure a playoff birth (last day of the season) and then get hot.

And now with the 2010 season upon us, a lot of the players on that playoff Bridgeport team are up with the Islanders JVR and Ryan O'Reilly being rookies, and the Islanders have started off well.

Bridgeport on the other hand is average. They are currently in sixth place, with Koskinen finally making the jump to the AHL but not fairing too well.

Utah is 17-2 right now with Mike Morrison as my goaltender. Ive sent John Tavares down there for experience and he is making me look like a hero (or an idiot) with his production. I'm trying to slow play him, he wasn't clicking with anyone in part of a season on the Island. So for now I'll let him rip up the East Coast before promoting him.

On a side note, last season the ECHL scoring leader was Radek Smolenak with 182 points!!! Smolenak is a horrible player in real life, to see him put up ridiculous points in this game was pretty funny.

After a magnificent yet a busy year, I finished my first season with the Caps, ending up 2nd, losing the Stanley Cup final series 4-2 to the Flames.

I went with a pretty rebuilding tactic, probably more so than I thought, making a lot of transactions in the pre-season and before the playoffs, to strenghten my team.

Personally, I'd list Mike Cammalleri, Nikolai Zherdev, Mikhail Grabovski and José Theodore as the most important players I acquired, in addition to Mark Recchi and Dustin Penner who brought some decisive depth to my 3rd and 4rd lines just before the playoffs.

With 185 points, Ovy took the Maurice 'Rocket' Trophy, narrowly winning his team-, and linemates Bäckström and Semin who were the runner-ups for the Trophy with 150 points both.

It's still early in June and I'm looking forwards to adding some depth into the 4rd line and adding an experienced star defender as I clearly see the defense as the weakest part of my team.

After missing out on the playoffs in the first season with the Pens (in retrospect, I made some poor trades and had some poor tactic management) - I started over :-D That's the best thing about gaming - the "reset" button!

Things are going much better this time around. I took a lot of time setting my own lines (I let the coaches do it my first time around and they put Malkin, Crosby, and Staal all on the same line) setting unit and personal tactics, and figuring out the best line matching. Right now I'm 4th in the east (top 3 are devils, caps, and sens). Although I have a dozen more points than the senators, the devils are 5 points ahead of me and it looks like I'm going to need a little help as far as them hitting a losing streak or having an injury...I've got less than 15 games left to go in the season.

Kunitz was one of my top point scorers through the first 22 games (31 points) but went down with a 8 month injury. I've made multiple trades for both forwards and defense and it has paid off thus far. Malkin is leading the team in points (97), with both Cooke and Crosby close behind. Surprisingly, Dupuis has put up some decent numbers as well. Comrie is a bust (although he hasn't been injured this season) and I'm letting him walk after the season.

My current lines:
Cooke - Crosby - Dupuis
Hannula/Comrie - Staal - Malkin
Sutherby - Peterson - Rupp
Adams - Lundmark - Asham

Kunitz on IR, Nichol (great on faceoffs, not so much for anything else) at AHL

D-Men:
Martin, Michalek, Orpik, Babchuk, Seabrook, Boynton

Letang at AHL

Goalies: Fleury and Johnson - Johnson has filled in nicely - He's 8-2-2 - GAA is a little high though around 3

Traded away: Talbot, Kennedy, Goligoski, Tangradi, and some later round picks - I really didn't want to lose Goligoski and Tangradi, but I thought Seabrook (great atts in the game) was a good deadline day acquisition so I took my chances - He's not disappointed so far.

I'm seeing some issues with cap space already - Although my team average salary is about $5M below the cap and I'm spending less than my budget, my actual annual salaries are over the cap and from what I can tell (from my finances screen) I'm experiencing some "cap penalties". Hopefully the cap goes up the next season (some of my player salaries are going up next season).

I went on a small skid at the end of the season when Fleury went down and missed the final 4-5 games. Johnson didn't do so well in his place and I wound up going from the 4 seed to the 5 seed (Tampa Bay went ahead of me by 1 point).

First round of the playoffs I beat Tampa Bay in 6 games - Unfortunately for me, Malkin, my regular season point leader and eventual Calder winner, went down with a 2 month injury during the series.

Round two I faced the Devils, who got the upper hand in 6. In the two games I won, I scored 13 goals. In the four I lost, I only scored 5. Go figure...too bad I couldn't space out those two good games. The Devils went on to beat the Caps in 7 games and then beat the Flames for the Stanley Cup.

I realized, I really needed some more help on the 3rd and/or 4th lines as Toby Peterson, Jamie Lundmark, Mike Hannula, and Scott Nichol weren't really the answer. Original roster players Godard, Talbot, and Kennedy weren't doing the trick either, thus them being traded or AHL (Godard).

In the offseason, I made offers to several free agents, but only landed Randy Robitaille. I signed Joel Kwiatkowski the prior season and when he transferred over to the Pens, I put him on the left wing (I believe he's "competent" there, but didn't like his practice regimine, which was to retrain at lw).

Due to cap issues, I traded Martin and Michalek, who were both making a ton of money and only averaging a little over 7. Off hand, I don't recall who I picked up...

I'm currently in training camp and preseason games. I'm hoping for better results in the regular season and playoffs. I can't wait for Brodeur to retire, so I can own the division!! He dominates in this game!
