Just giving this a bump since NBHL hasn't had much if any interest in the past little while.

We're really a great group of guys and have a couple openings (such as the ever popular Toronto Maple Leafs and the absolute powerhouse Washington Capitals) if anyone is interested. We're not as big and as well known as the DM but essentially you're getting the same thing here, which is a great online experience.

We're also fairly early in the game world (08-09 playoffs about the start) so you won't have to adjust to random weird names and stuff.

So if you have any interest at all in online EHM, why not start here!

So some of you are juggling with two online teams at the same time? How time consuming it is? :-k

Its really, you get what you put into it really.

NB is a bit more time consuming as they do more live sims where they coach. They do them everyday whereas in DM we do them once a week. However, you do not HAVE to attend these.

I would be in both if I had the capacity to but since I run DMA on my computer, the game needs to be running 24/7 and I can't log into NB. I used to be in both when I had a work laptop.

We used to have a really big cross over of GM's between the leagues, so people obviously were finding time to do both. However, having said that, the cross over is becoming less and less.

I hope that helps.

You could setup a virtual machine using Virtual Box and install EHM05 in the virtual machine thus enabling you to run mutiple instances of the game.

I'll have a chat with you on MSN about it when I get the chance. This seems interesting.

Is there any information about the league? What version of EHM do you use, and are any teams available besides the above named (Leafs/Capitals)?

Well I could be interested to join at some point, but not really with either of those teams. I'm not big fan of either of these teams so.

We use EHM 2005, with the most current patch, since it allows us to utilize all 30 teams. As is the case for the DM, the downloaded trial version is fine as only the hosts computer actually moves forward on the calendar thus moving beyond the free trial period.

We are about to wrap up the '08-'09 conference finals and have two open teams at the moment - the New York Islanders and a loaded Washington Capitals team. The 2009 draft will be next Saturday, February 5th, so if you're interested in joining now would be a great time to sign up. NB Sign Up found here

Having managed a team in both leagues (NB and DM) for a number of seasons I would say that the most obvious difference is the number of live sims. While DM purposefully limits this to once a week, the NB attempts to have a live sim (4 days in game) every day of the week. Typically these sims begin between 5:30 and 7:00 pm est during the week and 11am est on weekends. Largely a result of the volume of live sims (which are not required to attend and 3 of the 4 conference finalists do not regularly attend them) the activity level tends to be a little higher across the board, which can be observed most notably in the volume of trades of course this cycles periodically anytime a new GM comes in and looks to put his stamp on the team.

So if you're interested I'd encourage you to check out the NBHL Main Page here and feel free to ask one of the many guys who play in both leagues so are registered on TBL - myself, Dano, Lloyd, and Bill would all be great places to start as we've been in both leagues for many seasons.

When I first joined, there was only 1 team available and I took it even though I wasn't much of a fan of them (it was the Islanders). Over time, vacancies opened up for teams that I actually did like IRL, but I stayed with the Isle because I had already built and developed the team so much. I even have a soft spot of the Islanders IRL now ;)

Now in NBHL2, similar situation, I took the Oilers because that's all that was available. And I don't like Canadian teams much at all (other than the Leafs). I had a chance to switch the Oilers with the Leafs and I couldn't do it, you get so attached to the team you built yourself.

In the end, the team you GM doesn't matter at all. All it is is a conference, division, a name and a logo. Please don't let the available teams dictate whether or not you join.

Totally agree. My fave team is the Leafs and I've never got to play as them online. I've played as the Thrashers, Blues and Rangers mostly. At one point I was in three leagues and I was either the Thrash or Rags in all of them so I could keep it straight what team I was susf.

Please check it out when its convenience for you.. http://www.nbhl.info

Look forward to having some competitive GM's step forward.

Cheers

Heh.
Not me.
But I could see why people thought that. He even did award voting!
That dude made a kick-ass site. I saw that and wanted a team right away, just to write about it.
Then I remembered that I intentionally got myself banned to the 10th level

It's cool you guys are pumpin' along. Waiting list of 5 is impressive.
Amazing that the DM is going and has a DM2 or whatever, too.

How's Windsor these days?
I played in the WFCU summer ball hockey league last summer and realized I'm way too old and slow for that league. What a great arena though.

No BS Hockey League (NBHL) [EHM 2005]

Post by drewst18 »

We are looking for active TBL Users to sign up for our EHM 05 league.

Check out http://www.NBHL.info for our league site.

We are entering our sixth season and as you can see by the site it is full of activity and provides lots of excitement. We have some different elements in the league like a twitter feed for trade rumors, league previews, mock drafts, league voted awards and HoF. It is an active league with 30 GMs and we are looking to add to that activity!

You can check out season preview out at http://nbhl.info/index.php?option=com_c ... 30&catid=1

We are different from the DMHNL which is more of a slower paced league. We are upfront that more time is required in NBHL than in DMHNL to truly experience all that our league has to offer. You can join with the plan of checking daily, but it will be hard to be successful.

While our league is not in need of GMs. (Currently have a decent sized wait list) We are always looking to grow with active GMs. There is a reason why we have a list, and get on it now and get in the league as soon as you can!!
