General Leagues of the world info

Post by BlackCats101 »

I don't know if anyone agrees, but I would like to see a section on TBL about different leagues of the world, how they work, a little bit of team history, rules regarding promoting players and transfers etc. This might not only make game of EHM more interesting, as you would know a little about the equivalent league in real life, but also encourage new players of the game and thus more followers of Ice Hockey in general.

Is anyone interested/willing to help?
P.S I didn't know which section to put this in, but I though perhaps just General EHM chat, as this is where most newcomers would head first...:dunno:

Thanks archi.

I would welcome input from anyone. Kidhander I know you know a fair bit about Russian leagues ;), so If you're willing to donate info I'll be happy. If you have a particular nations leagues that yopu would like to write about post in here and we'll divide it up. I might pick a more obscure league to start with, perhaps Austria. Preferably we will get the playable EHM leagues written about first of all, then we'll move on to others of interest.

Aye good idea!

I might chip in by writing the Finnish guide, but I'll let you take the initiative and make the first guide, so I can follow your lead on the layout and such.

I was thinking of re-starting to write the team guides anyhows, so this comes at a good time to get me started again. Assuming theres empty slots in my busy-busy schedule (most likely there will be). :)

great idea. A background on all the playable league would be pretty cool.

I think maybe to expand on this eventaully we could look at

Regular updates of the latest results , league tables, transfers etc

Also a play test of that league if someone played it maybe give a summary with how they got on. This could be great as depending on what sort of challenge someone wants they will have a better idea of what league and team suits them best.

If that proved to be a hit go on to more less known leagues that are not currently playable. Could be a good way to ease people into looking into leagues and potentially researchers.

I should have the UK facepack out soon and I'm already working on SPHL and LNAH in North America so hopefully that will raise some intrest in those areas.

kidhanders maps were pretty cool maybe they could be used on the profiles for the leagues.

This is starting to sound like a really good project

As I said to Blackcats, I'm developing a new articles system that shall be integrated into the Forums. It's all installed and set up but I'm just finishing off copying and formatting our articles from the old system. I think the new system will be perfect as it will allow users to add to other users' articles.

I'm gonna try to get the ball rolling tomorrow by putting together everyone's ideas into a template that we can then discuss and build upon. We can then use the template to write the guides

This project isn't dead, but I am still busy with other things at the moment so it could be a while. Keep researching!
