Create Yourself

Post by Elias26 »

You need the Pre-Game Editor but it's a lot of fun. I made my cousine and myself on the Devils. I like to give myself a ton of potential and not so great starting stats and watch myself grow with the team. Anyone else ever make themself or am I crazy?

You're crazy, but I've done it too.

It's kinda fun to make yourself an NHL calibre star and put yourself on a EIHL team. I led Edinbrough in scoring with somewhere around 120 points one year.

If you played the regular game enough you should give it a try its a lot of fun. You can also pump up your favorite players.

I'm not going to exclude you from the wierd category on this small amount of evidence... I mean it's very possible you are wierd independant of not using an editor. ;) but I too would rather play the game balanced/designed as it is meant to be. Otherwise you are creating ripple effects all accross the game universe and the longer you play to more changes multiply/disrupt things.

I hear what you are saying and most of the time I play it like that but sometimes It's just fun to see your creation grow.

Watching the "Legends of Hockey" show, I am inspired to create myself as a Bobby Orr-type clone to man the St. Louis Blues blueline. Thing is, I'm waiting for the next patch to fix some of the issue, but if that isn't happening then I'll revert back to the pre-salary cap version.

I'm 99% sure there is no more patches for the current EHM as they are working on the new game already.

They're close to opening testing for the next version currently so I doubt there will be any more patches. :dunno:

I'm sure I could find this answer somewhere, but when is the next EHM version going to come out, approximately?

They will be releasing from now on before the season so yeah mid-late Sept would be about right I'd think.

It's a darn pain having to do that all the time! I've been caught out by that a few times now ](*,)

also remember, when using pre-game editor, to save a LOT. Confirm is meaningless if you don't save, and lots of times I've had a lot of things wiped out by errors while saving. So...save FREQUENTLY.

Personally, I really enjoy creating myself for EHM, too... although I try to get it as close to realistic as possible. I usually make me as good(or bad) as I am in real-life, and then put me on a low junior team - usually Fort Erie, since Erie is only on the other side of my home state of Pennsylvania. Then I can keep an on my player an see how his career turns out.

Although... now that I think of it, I'm not in my newest game because I forgot to re-create me in the new NCAA/Unfake database... rubbish!

EDIT: Does anyone else get errors when trying to confirm a new player? I always get some access violation, which seems to freeze the editor.
