Re: Lidas Rosters 2010-11; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks etc.
A few things..
For Manimal, WHL is about 40% done. I'll have it done by mid-May. The update will be of the rosters that the WHL teams ended the season with. The WHL Bantam Draft is this week and the Draft results will NOT be in this update because 3.1 is for the 2010-11 season. As soon as I am done with the WHL update, I will add Bantam Draft and CHL Import Draft rights for the 2011-12 season for Lidas 4.0 update.
Some things for the 2012 NHL Draft:
Nail Yakupov is looking like the top contender for the #1 overall pick in 2012. Nail lead the OHL in rookie scoring and was 4th in the league with 101 points and finished 3rd in the league with 49 goals. The most points by a rookie in the OHL since the 2005/06 season. At the U-18 World Championships, he lead Russia to a win with a hat trick in the Bronze medal game over Canada and had 6 goals and 13 points in 7 games as a 17 year old. Nail has excellent skating ability and acceleration as well as "the best hands since Ovechkin" and a pretty good wrist shot. He is still growing defensively, but improved throughout the season. "Yakupov is a game breaker," an NHL scout said earlier this week. "He's got a lot of speed, agility and can make all his moves when going balls out. He's got a natural knack for scoring and is a threat to score every single time he's out there. The defense is only so-so, but when you're talking about a player as dangerous as he is, you can live with that."

I have been a huge advocate of Mikhail Grigorenko since initial reports in 2009 out of Russia were that this kid was the next Alex Ovechkin. I've followed his career since he was 13, always playing on teams that were older than his age limit, but still dominating. At the age of 13, he had 115 goals and 211 points in 55 games in Russia's equivalent to AAA Midget Hockey in Canada. This year, in his first year as an MHL player at the age of 16, Mikhail had 13 goals and 38 points in 30 games playing 2nd line minutes. In the U-18 World Championships, he was the 2nd overall scorer behind teammate Nikita Kucherov with 4 goals and 18 points in just 7 games.
What makes Grigorenko such a great prospect is his great hockey sense and ability in the offensive zone. His hockey sense has been compared to Igor Larionov with the body and skills of Evgeni Malkin. He's a strong 6'2" 183lbs and uses his body well when stickhandling in and out of traffic. Some of the softest hands in the 2012 NHL Draft, comparable and possibly better than Nail Yakupov. His awareness in the offensive zone with and without the puck and his strong passing ability makes Grigorenko a Top Ten if not Top 5 prospect for the 2012 NHL Draft.
Looking ahead to 2012, which players do you foresee pushing to be the No. 1 pick out of next years draft class?
International Scouting Services Head Scout Ross MacLean: I can’t get enough of Mikhail Grigorenko. To me he is Joe Thornton’s clone. He might even be a bit better actually. The first round will be loaded with defensemen. Matt Dumba, Morgan Reilly, Griffin Reinhart, the list goes on and on and on. Filip Forsberg and Nail Yakupov also have shots at being a number 1 pick. It is going to be a very strong crop with a lot of potential number 1’s. But right now, none of those players has been as impressive as Grigorenko in my opinion.: : I can’t get enough of Mikhail Grigorenko.

I'd love to see some of these guys that are going to be in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft included in 3.1 and 4.0 as well. I think it would be a lot of fun to have real top players appear in not just the first draft in game but the second. If we've got researchers giving us at least a decent idea of these prospects' abilities, they can only add to the game.

Old news so you might have it, but the New York Rangers signed Tommy Grant to a 2-year deal at $625,000/year that starts for the 2011-2012, however he has an ATO in place so he can play for the Connecticut Whale now.

I couldn't find either player in 3.0 update so I guess I'll add them here..
Stephane Da Costa signed an ELC in Ottawa after two good years with Merrimack College.

Pat Cannone signed an ELC with Ottawa after four years with Miami University

I have created Da Costa, but the others were already in the DB. Players that have signed contracts for 11-12 and on will be with their old teamsubbestubben wrote:I couldn't find either player in 3.0 update so I guess I'll add them here..

With my WHL update, I am adding Bantam prospects who are 14-15-16 and have NHL Draft years of 2014, 2015, 2016.. I hope to eventually do this with every league because I have the same desire to play with real players instead of the regens.bruins72 wrote:I'd love to see some of these guys that are going to be in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft included in 3.1 and 4.0 as well. First, let me apologize if you have already covered this. I did not read this entire thread. That being said, I feel that it is important that we get the players' weights correct in the next update. The game engine uses the player's weight when calculating hits, and a lot of the players are too light. I made a post on the game knowledge discussion about hitting and size/weight vs. aggression/strength/hitting. Now this correction may make some players "godly" and we could then tweak their CA/PA accordingly.
Also, if you need some examples, just let me know.

The Phoenix Coyotes acquired junior centre Ethan Werek from the New York Rangers on Sunday in exchange for Swedish centre Oscar Lindberg.

Hopefully for 4.0 you will have the Red Wings in the East and Atlanta moved to Winnipeg. That is if everything with the Coyotes goes according to Glendale's plans.

It will be done when it is done. Why don't you ask what you can do to help out and make it faster instead of posting when it gonna be done?
Oh and MANIMAL--come on hurry the heck up. These guys are getting itchy to have all the work done again. I mean how come you cannot get it out like yesterday, or last week. Geez...so slow. The masses are restless. I am sure that a pack of them will rise up and take over the update.
