NHL re-rating of attributes

Post by Manimal »

I am swamped with roster work right now and would like any of you guys to update the attributes of the NHL-players.

Start by reading through this topichttp://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =13&t=4920
I find it very good(thanks Selne for it) as it explains attributes and things regarding it.

Choose a team from the list.
Then take the excel-sheet attached to this post and put down the changes from Lidas 3.2 you'd like to see. This saves me valuable time
Please, also rate the offensive/defensive role of the players
If you want anything other changed, feel free to say so
You can also grade a non-player you think needs up- or downgrading.

PLEASE, NO HOMERISM!
I cannot read xlsx-files so please save as xls before you send them to me

If I could have all teams done before the season starts, then I'd be very happy

It sure is! Thanks.

BTW, can we put this thread a news so it shows on the start page? It might generate more interest

Hi, I've downloaded the spreadsheet and have one question. Am I just re-rating the players assigned to tampa on this spreadsheet or am I doing their new additions as well. For example, Sean Bergenheim has moved on but is still listed as being at Tampa on your spread sheet and Ryan Shannon (a new addition) is still listed as a Senator. Do I update both, just Bergenheim or just Shannon? Sorry for the long-winded question just wanted some clarification :) Thanks!

They are listed with the teams they played last year with.
I want you to rate the players that are with Tampa now.

Great! Now we are focusing on the NHL-signed players. Prospects can also be done if you want to

I'm almost done, but just to clarify, we're rating this based on the 3.2 roster?

You don't have to base the research on any given db. Just put the values you see fit

I can take Detroit.

Just so I understand what needs to be done, I need to update the player and staff changes with anything that I see that needs an update from version 3.2, is that correct?

I have already done the player movement so I am only looking for attribute and ability- values. List everything you think needs change

I can take the last 3 teams on your list - Vancouver, Washington, and Winnepeg and will turn them around in a week.

Some good prospect information sites:
http://www.redwingscentral.com/
http://www.theleftwinglock.com/

I would do the Red Wings, but now that the WHL season has started I can nail down the rosters for that league, finally!

Hey, I would be happy to help. I will take the NY Rangers.

I guess what has me confused (and maybe others) is you say 'changes' but changed from what? Can we take the latest player database and consider if any player' attributes need to be changed from what they are? Seems to me the easiest way to do it would be to scan their current attributes and suggest changes to the ones that we feel are not correct.

Also, are we looking to change current ability? In the spreadsheet you say not to touch CA but take Gaborik for example. You have him listed as a 156CA but in the Attribute guide he is specifically listed as an example for a 180CA guy. At the very least he is a 170 - 1st liner type player.

Also, can we alter PA?

Sorry if I asked to many questions, I want to get this right.

That is the easiest way and probably the best way.

The examples in the attribute guide are probably a bit dated. The values in the sheet are based on last years stats. I agree that Gaborik is more of a 170-player - when he's on. Set his CA to 170 and have his consistency not so high, and then he'll be like IRL, I think.

I'll do Montreal. I already have half the team done for the db i'm playing now. Also, since the pre-season games are televised it's easier to get a good look/evaluation of the prospects and fringe players.

Can anyone confirm that the maximum number of scouts contracted to a team is 15 (including the head scout position)?

Much appreciated!
