Action shots
I'v been doing mainly NHL/AHL level player actionshot and for some ECHL and other league players too. Now I have roughly 1100 jpg actionshots, but I would say 1000 is closer number due there are some non related actionshots in mix right now. Anyway here is a preview shot of the pack that I hope to finish someday. Not all the pictures are as good quality as in this preview, because finding pictures of some players is hard task itself, not to mention high quality ones. Anyway the quality is overally quite good. I think even better than my previous packs at susie. This preview pic is a bit compressed, so the actual quality is a bit higher.

Fantastic work as always Brother TWolf
Great to have you back on the scene! We've had a lot of people not experience problems uploading large file directly via the upload forms so when youa re ready give that a shot first. If it gives you problems send it up to YouSend and email/message me the link and I'll git 'er done
And yeah, these give you a great variety because you get a dual layer of player pics. In news instead of the cards you see these action shots if you have one (they go in your news/players folder instead of regular players folder where profile graphics go); very cool.

I'v done about 1700 actionshots. I might make a few more, but we will see. Most of the work is already done however. Some euroleague guys might be there, but I can't be bothered to track them down from the vast sea of pictures. It shouldn't take too long for me to finish this. I even found pictures for some guys of Omaha Knights and Iowa Stars. In the current state when packed it weighs about 76 megabytes.

Well they can be used in the place of the mugshots, but they are meant to used alongside news items related to the player. The default folder for them is the news\players folder.jockeh wrote:I have one question; When you look at the players, you know the info, will you see the pictures then? Or are they just for when you look at the news?
The pack is uploaded temporarily to yousendit, but it shouldn't be too long before the pack is here.

"Mugshot" is commonly used to describe pictures taken of people arrested. So since the 'card' type photos and the default photos are just face pictures people call them mugshots. Also, as in "Look at his mug" is a common slang usage so mugshots are the face pictures accompanying players' profiles (those are the pictures that we call "facepacks", and have thousands of them converted to the 'vintage hockey card' style).
These are alternate pictures that are action photos, not "posed" pictures. So these go into your 'players' folder in the News folder instead of the 'Pictures' folder. When you get news items dealing with a particular player you will have these action shots displayed instead of the standard profile pictures which are used if there is not alternate news picture available. Hope that clears things up.
I'm downloading the pics right now and as soon as I get them and send them up to our server I'll post a link, but it shouldn't be long now
EDIT: Strangely enough, two of the file messages made it to me and two I had to fish out of my spam folder

It appears this is actually an internet-wide problem; it's an UGLY day on the internet right now; if you notice that the site is running in slow-mo. I've mentioned this in General but if you ever wonder if the 'net is really bogged down or if it is just your connection or the site you are connecting to check this out:
http://www.internettrafficreport.com/
It lists the major servers that form the backbone of the 'net and right now things are running on a scale from 43-64 out of 100 scale which is actually the worst I've ever seen...

I've just been able to get on to d/l the files, after using their beta site instead of the regular site
It's four files but I've only grabbed 3 of the 4 yet as I'm still having problems accessing one; but I'm transferring them to the server now and make them available when ready. I'll fill in the E-K set when I am able to grab that one.
