No problem. Just let me know what his email is, and I'll send him an invite. And sorry for the lateness on this one - there's a bit of thing brewing in the MHL that I've been dealing with.

Just a reminder for everyone, the draft is tomorrow afternoon. Saturday October 1st at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The draft room will open one hour before the draft, so try to get there early so you have time to get the draft app up and running.

when the draft starts, I believe the first 10 rounds will go by automatically as the AI selects our keepers. We'll then pick up at round 11, and draft like usual, with 90 seconds per pick.

Thanks Brian! His email is csimpson05@hotmail.com

if one of the existing teams is available, it would be better for him to take that over as opposed to starting from scratch. If all of last years teams are accounted for, how is this years draft going to work for him? does he have to select only from what is available?

let me know!! thanks again!

He's been invited

As for the draft, I'm actually not sure, to be honest. I don't think I've ever added teams to a keeper league in progress.

I do know, however, that the first x rounds (10 in our case) are "reserved for keeper selection". I believe this is where the AI goes through and picks everyone's keepers. I'm going to guess that maybe he'll be participating in these rounds. That's juts a guess, though... we'll have to wait till this afternoon, and see what it does.

Thanks a lot brian!

yeah i guess we'll have to see...if he gets to participate during the AI rounds, hes going to have the most stacked team in the league :( lol
i'm hoping he gets first pick after the 10 AI picks...that would even it out a little more.

Alas the draft was a bit of a struggle for me...a lot of lag (and I was using the "Lite" version of the draft)...I did OK the first few pics, then some pics were made for me (forwards R. Whitney and P. Berglund) and I often had only seconds on others.....ah technology!

So I get that guys I don't want I can waive/release.....right?

And...when I "sign" a Free Agent (undrafted), does that player immediately fill the roster spot of the player I just got rid of?

:-)

Hello
I've made a handful of moves in the last few days (and I thought they were my first roster moves ever), and went to the "TransCounter" section to see if I was close to a weekly limit and I was very surpised to see the numbers.....it says 16 ACQ, 14 DROP, 19 ACTIVATE (my totals are pretty much what all other teams total up to!).....I don't believe I've made all these moves, or I really don't understand how things work...
I moved players around weeks before the draft as practice and for fun...have I now messed things up for myself? I never imagined such moves would "count" (or is it something else? and I just don't understand)

You can safely ignore those numbers. From my experience, the Transaction Counter is pretty much just something to look at.

As you can see at the bottom of that counter page, they have fees listed. Some leagues can get pretty serious, and charge real money to do various things in the league, and have more restricting transaction rules. For these leagues, the Transaction Counter probably comes in handy, but for us, it's just cosmetic.

As for why your numbers are higher, I would assume it is in fact counting the moves you made before the draft.

In the end, the only acquisition number you really need to watch is the Matchup Acquisitions. This should be shown in the "Current Matchup" box, on your "My Team" page.

I was actively involved (checking in multiple times weekly) until right before the league playoffs; during the year it seemed to me that only a couple/few GMs were actually managing their team…....

I basically lost interest in response to the negativity in the Minstrel thread at the time….I don’t have much interest in trading, and I don’t like the combination of a system that requires GM involvement and GMs that don’t feel they have to be involved (plus of course the lack of active Octavian League GMs in general)…..so I decided this was another “online game” (like the DMHL) that wasn’t for me, and I stopped checking in (I have no idea who won)

We are pulling the plug on this league. There simply isn't enough interest to warrant having two leagues. If any of the OHL GMs are interested to join the MHL please post in that league thread
