2011-12 Montreal Canadiens and Beyond

Post by Big T »

Hi, my name is Big T and I have been playing EHM 2007 since it came out. I have done several dynasties from out of the package default databases and I felt it was time to take advantage of the Lidas series of databases which I first want to give a huge thank you for.

I am a huge Montreal Canadiens fan, have been since the 1970's so I am going to take over the fabled franchise and attempt to bring them back to glory, after going through their very first decade without a Stanley Cup.

To update you, its August 31st, 2011. I am going to attempt to get thier training camp roster simular to where it is actually without worrying to much of getting training camp invitees such as Trotter, Gallagher, Beaulieu and Tinordi signed this season. There will be a time for them. But I am going to try to get Ryan White, Erik Cole, Chris Campoli, Josh Gorges and Peter Budaj signed and ready for camp in two weeks.

As well I will schedule an 8 game exhibition season as I will be looking to finalize the roster. Assuming I can get the names mentioned signed... The following players are going to have roster spots to start the season.

G Carey Price
D Josh Gorges (if he signs)
D Hal Gill
D Andre Markov
D PK Subban
D Jaroslav Spacek
F Erik Cole (if he signs)
F Mike Cammalleri
F Lars Eller
F Brian Gionta
F Scott Gomez
F Andrei Kostistyn
F Travis Moen
F Max Pacoretti
F Tomas Plekanec

That will leave 1 goalie spot for
Peter Budaj (if he signs)
Kari Ramo (if he signs)
Robert Mayer
Curtis Sanford

That will leave 2 defenseman spots for
Rafeal Diaz
Aleksei Emelin
Alex Hendry
Brendon Nash
Joe Stejskal
Yannick Weber
Chris Campoli (if he signs)

That will leave 5 forward spots for
Ryan White
Alexsander Avtsin
Hunter Bishop
Andrew Conboy
Mathieu Darche
David Desharnais
Gabriel Dumont
Andreas Engqvist
Olivier Fortier
Louis Leblanc
Phillippe Lefebvre
Dany Masse
Joonas Nattinen
Aaron Palushaj
Ian Schultz

The Habs have roughly $11,000,000 left to spend.

September 12th, 2011

Before we start the exhibition games, My philosophy is the 8 games are to determine my final selections for 4 forward spots, 2 defenseman and a goalie. So the regulars will get very little, if any exhibition action. Because I have only 4 goalies in camp, this season Price will get 4 (30 minutes per game) appearances. On defense, I have 7 guys going after 2 spots, so a regular defenseman will need to play every game to make up the 8 defense, while I have 15 forwards trying out for 4 spots, and I will have to rotate them in and out during the 8 exhibition games.
