Oct 4th: Edmonton starts on the right foot despite Getzlaf's suspension. The Oilers beat the Stars 4-3 in a shootout.

Oct 5th: Back to back victories to begin the season as Edmonton beat Vancouver 6-2. Garon was the tender for the Oilers. Horcoff scored two goals and an assist, as did Ryan, and Semin had a goal and an assist.

Oct 7th: Girard was named QMJHL Defensive Player of the Week. Horcoff was named NHL Offensive Player of the Week.

Oct 8th: Rask had 29 saves and was the first star in a battle of Alberta as Edmonton beat Calgary 2-1 in a shootout win. G. Moore had the only goal.

Oct 11th: As there is a 6 day break for the Oilers here are the lines for the next game. Cogliano, Tangradi, and Omark will be rotating the 3rd line until roster moves are made.

Oct 14th: Edmonton continues to work to save GM Cloutier and coach Hartley's job as they win 6-0 over Minnesota. Rask had 18 saves in his first shutout of the season while Fehr, Horcoff, Whitney, Boulton, and G. Moore each had a goal and an assist.

Oct 16th: Edmonton suffered its first win. The Blues shutout the Oilers 6-0. Rask was pulled after letting in 3 goals on 5 shots. Garon did not fair that much better letting in 3 goals on 17 shots.

Oct 18th: Edmonton obliterated Ottawa 7-1. Fehr had a hat trick and was named first star. A total of 5 players had a multiple point game.

Oct 19th: Garon proved to be a very reliable backup as he posted a shutout in a 3-0 victory over Montreal. He was named first star. The first offensive line each got two points.

Oct 21st: Buffalo was too strong as Edmonton was defeated 3-1. Getzlaf scored the only goal while Rask saved 22 of 24 shots.

Oct 23rd: Even 45 saves from Rask could not help Edmonton from losing 5-3 against Los Angeles. It is the first time the Oilers lose two straight games this season.

Oct 25th: In an effort to revitalize his team, coach Hartley removed Horcoff from the powerplay and added Omark, also moving T. Hall to center. Omark had 2 goals and was first star. Stewart was also very good with his 2 goal, 1 assist game that earned him the second star.

Oct 26th: Edmonton sent Patrick Kaleta to Buffalo for a 2nd round pick.

Oct 29th: In another blowout game Edmonton destroyed Vancouver 9-4. Getzlaf showed signs of the player the Oilers were looking for when they acquired him by getting 2 goals and 3 assists. Ryan, Semin, Whitney, and Pitkanen each got 3 points.

Oct 31st: The Oilers were impressive in their first month of the season with 8 wins and 3 loses. They are 2nd in the West. With 44 goals (4th) and 27 (7th) goals against, Edmonton is well on the way to earn forgiveness for last season.

Nov 1st: Nugent-Hopkins was named AHL Rookie of the Month. Chicago beat Edmonton 5-2 while Garon was in goal. The first line each had a goal and an assist for the Oilers.

Nov 2nd: Edmonton lost 2-1 in overtime against Nashville. Semin scored the Oilers only goal while Rask was their tender.

Nov 4th: Getzlaf was named NHL Offensive Player of the Week. Nugent-Hopkins was named AHL Player of the Week. Edmonton lost a third in a row, this time by the score of 3-2 to Calgary. They remain winless in 3 games in November.

Nov 7th: First place Los Angeles beat Edmonton by a score of 3-1. Getzlaf scored the only goal. This is the fourth loss in a row, erasing the good work done in October.

Nov 11th: Ewanyk was named WHL Player of the Week. Huberdeau was named QMJHL Offensive Player of the Week. Nugent-Hopkins was named AHL Player of the Week. Inspired play by Garon and the first line led to a 4-3 win in overtime win over Detroit. Semin scored the winner. Ryan and Boulton were injured and will be out for a few days.

Nov 13th: The injuries were not kind to the Oilers as they lost 6-4 to the Wild. Garon tried as best he could but allowed 5 goals on 37 shots while the last goal was in an empty net as Edmonton tried to tie.

Nov 15th: The absence of the injured showed again as Edmonton lost 6-1. Rask let in all 6 goals on 47 shots.

Nov 17th: Edmonton drops another even with the return of their injured although it was less of an embarrassment. Chicago won 3-2 in a shootout.

Nov 18th: Huberdeau was named the QMJHL Offensive Player of the Week. Edmonton lost an important match againts Vancouver in overtime by the score of 4-3.

Nov 20th: Oilers finally reunite themselves with the win column. After having sent T. Hall down to the minors because of his average play, Edmonton won 5-1 over Dallas.

Nov 22nd: Edmonton puts two together as the win 7-4 against Anaheim. Getzlaf was injured in the game. Six players had a multi-point game including 4 with 3 points and Semin with 4 (2 goals, 2 assists).

Nov 25th: Pitkanen was named NHL Defensive Player of the Week. Montoya was named AHL Player of the Week. Edmonton and Garon's winning streak was put to an end as Calgary won 6-3. Rask came in after 4 goals but was just as bad.

Nov 28th: When the first two lines are on, they are one. Edmonton won 5-1 against Colorado. First star went to Getzlaf (2 goals, 1 assist), second star was Ryan (2 goals, 1 assist), Omark (1 goal, 2 assists), Semin (2 assists), and Horcoff (2 assists) had a multi-point game. Fehr was injured and will likely miss up to 3 weeks.

Nov 30th: Edmonton won another as they beat Minnesota 4-3. It was Rasks return to the Oilers nets. Edmonton finishes November with a 5-6-3 record and finished 7th.

Dec 1st: Ewanyk was named WHL Player of the Month. Nugent-Hopkins was named AHL Player and Rookie of the Month.

Dec 2nd: Ewanyk was named WHL Player of the Week. Edmonton absolutely destroyed Calgary by a score of 9-1. Four players had a 3 point night.

Dec 5th: Edmonton is showing that it wants to put a slow November behind them. The Oilers beat the Blackhawks thanks to a 38 save shutout by Rask.

Dec 7th: After playing a few solid games Rask faltered and the Sharks beat the Oilers 5-3.

Dec 9th: Before the game Nugent-Hopkins was announced the AHL Player of the Week. The Oilers were rewarded in giving Rask a chance to save face after his last performance. Edmonton beat Los Angeles 2-1. Rask made 36 saves.

Dec 11th: Rask continued his performance yoyo as Edmonton lost 6-4 to Carolina. Getzlaf participated in every goal as he had a goal and an assist. Semin for his part got the other two goals as well as an assist.

Dec 13th: Fehr returned and Edmonton won 3-2 against Nashville in a shootout.

Dec 15th: Another shootout game this time went the other way as Minnesota won 3-2 over Edmonton. Ryan had a goal and an assist to be named first star.

Dec 17th: Rask gave possibly his worst performance of the season as St Louis beat Edmonton 5-2. Semin was injured during the game.

Dec 19th: The entire first line was the three stars of the game as Edmonton were the winners against Minnesota by a score of 5-3

Dec 21st: The Edmonton first line continued its domination as they were again the top three stars. The Oilers won 5-2 over the Avalanche. Ryan had 2 goals and 2 assists while Semin and Getzlaf each had a goal and an assist.

Dec 23rd: Huberdeau was named the QMJHL Offensive Player of the Week. Christmas came early in a battle of who can have the worst goaltender of the game Edmonton beat St Louis 6-4. First star Ryan had 2 goals and an assist. Fehr (2 goals) and Getzlaf (2 assists) were the second and third star respectively. Surprisingly not a star, Semin had 2 goals and 3 assists.

Dec 27th: Rejuvenated from their Christmas vacation, Edmonton beat Dallas 5-3. G. Moore was the first star with two goals.

Dec 29th: After watching from the end of the bench for the last several games Garon came back and helped Edmonton win 4-2 against Nashville. The second line comprised the three stars with Fehr (1 goal, 1 assist) was first, Horcoff (2 assist) was second, and Omark (1goal, 1 assist) was third.

Dec 30th: Edmonton ends the year on a losing note as they were beaten 4-2 by Nashville in the tail-end of a home-and-home.

Dec 31st: Edmonton finished the month with a record of 9-4-1 and 5th place.

Looks like I forgot to turn human sackings on which means I should have probably been fired for how things had gone so far. I'm abandoning this thread and will start a new one with another team. I'll be choosing a lower tier team, setting a few ground rules, and try to not get fired.
