Welcome to Flyers Rehab Wing of Philly General Hospital!

Post by Minstrel »

Basically in this offseason everyone on the team is going to have surgery.

Forsberg is set for major surgeries to both ankles; the first of which he recently completed. He now had to rehab that injury and then undergo the other surgery and rehab that injury. The believe he'll be out until at least January.

Hip surgeries are the "In Thing" to do apparently. Both Esche and Nittymaki are scheduled for similar surgeries. Desjardins, Rathje and Gagne have hip injuries requiring surgery and two months of rehab; Gagne and Rathje have had theirs but Desjardins claims he's just going to try and rehab and deal with the constant pain all year w/o surgery; I'm sure the team will be happy with that decision

The hottest offseason surgery for the non-star player in the upcoming surgery season are surgeries of the shoulder and chest area. To repair torn labrum Denis Gauthier and Bryan Savage both set to go under the knife with recovery time/schedule unknown. Both Branko Radivojivic (torn posterior labrum) and Donald Brashear (torn rotator cuff) are expected to be rehabbing for 8-9 weeks following their surgies. Sami Kapanen can look forward to about a month of rehab after having a portion of his right clavical removed. Not to be beaten Tuner Stevenson proclaimed "I'll see you that torn labrum surgery and raise you a knee surgery to correct a torn miniscus!"

D. Hathcher is having minor knee surgery and Keith Primeau is having a minor surgery to realign the bones of his nose due to an old break while continuing to recover from the serious concussion that ended his season early. Speaking of concussion troubles the latest is that RJ Umberger has withdrawn from the World Championships due to post-consussion issues.

Believe or not those are just the surgeries annnounced on the 12th by the team; in all the team is set to have around 19 total surgeries this offseason. I sure hope they have a good health plan!

Maybe if they didn't get hurt so often they could win a few cups :dunno:
