I know, it's real pain. :\ I believe it has something to do with the copy protection that is present in the CD version. I really hoped that all users would be able to use the patch but it looks like it'll be just those with the eLicense or cracked versions (I don't advocate using the crack but I think I saw mention it worked - presumably because it is essentially the eLicense version).

I will continue experimenting with the CD version but I'm not holding my breath. :-(

Just curious, what caused the CHL Draft issue? That was strange.

It was just a value that needed to be changed from 2006 to whatever the start year is changed to. Wild guess, but I wonder whether it limits the ages of players available somehow - hence why only two showed up. :-? It could be anything I guess - when you start messing with the hex in the RAM then you can get all sorts of unexpected side effects.

That will come inthe next few days....but it could easily be an EPIC FAIL...if I am not precisely told how to get the other patch the heck out of there. I could easily mess up. Even if fully explained. Dementia is setting in at this ripe old age.

:chuckle:

It's pretty simple thankfully: Just delete the old CSD Patch.exe file and replace with the new one.

P.s. The next version is currently undergoing final testing. Assuming everything is okay, I'll write the new readme file and will hopefully get the next version uploaded within the next few days.

Archi, how does the draft editor work towards a possible historical db? There isn't a way to remove the drafts, is there?
For example, say someone wants to do a db that starts in 1992. With that tool you can edit the 1993 draft(and onward) but can you remove that info?

I could add this feature to the Draft Editor. It wouldn't be too difficult to add. I cannot promise how soon I could do this because I've got other bits to do first. But it's certainly something I could add in the future.

I think such a feature could be a real asset (with the 1974 db I'd love to be able to clear the draft info!)

When you say clear the draft info, do you mean remove the draft info for every single player in the database (rather than just those drafted after 1974)? If so, I'm fairly certain that can be done quite easily.

I've completed testing of the next patch without any issues. Jetwing13 has kindly been testing it on Windows XP and has confirmed that it is compatible. I just need to rewrite the readme and it'll be ready to go.

I've been taking a look at the different international/continental competitions to see whether any hosts are missing from competition history screens. Seems the hosts aren't recorded for the first season for the WJC U-20 Div 1. I'll see if I can fix this for a future version.

Interestingly, although there is a hosts section in the histories for the Continental Cup and Euro Champions Cup, no data is ever recorded in game for this.

I want to take a second look with regards to the team/competition records. I know that many of the records usually start off blank in EHM, but it does feel that there are an awful lot of league records set/broken at the beginning of the first season. I will double-check this at some point in the future.

As for a CD version of the patch, it's not looking good. I can change the start date but cannot prevent the usual 1st October crash. I need to move on to other things for the time being, but I will revisit this in the near future. This is a shame because it kind of forces the CD users to use the elicense cracked exe if they want to use a custom start date. :dunno:

Wow, you guys are doing a great job on the CSD! Having a 3 year-old, a newborn and home renovations underway, I can totally appreciate the time sacrificed in such a large undertaking.

Cheers!

Yes, I was thinking of removing every draft (though I suspect removinng all drafts after 1974 would do the same thing, as I don't think there's any players at the start of 2006 that were drafted 32 years before).

Viking - I've moved our posts about your problem to the Patch Questions Thread: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 34#p130634 . I'll find time tomorrow to post some suggestions about what you could try in order to diagnose things.

When I tried to load CSD it say that a .DLL is missing ( MSVCP100.dll ). Does anyone knows where can I find this .DLL ?

Did you install the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable? This sort of error sounds like you're missing this.

If that doesn't solve it, then you can download the DLL here.

The instructions according the website are:
http://www.dll-files.com/ wrote:Extract msvcp100.dll to a location on your computer. We recommend you to unzip it to the directory of the program that is requesting msvcp100.dll.
If that doesn't work, you will have to extract msvcp100.dll to your system directory. By default, this is:

C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me)
C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000)
C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7)

If you use a 64-bit version of Windows, you should also place msvcp100.dll in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
Personally, I would recommend first trying it to the correct system directory rather than in the same folder as the CSD Patch. This is because you might need the dll for other programmes and so you'd need to place it in each programme folder whereas you could just put it in your system folder once and that's it.

Several users have reported problems with many missing team records when using the patch - i.e. when you start the season, lots of records are set to zero and so they all get broken after the first game. I've been looking at this but I cannot see any difference between using the Patch and not using the Patch. In fact, I cannot see anywhere in the database where any of these records are stored. The records that are stored in the database and the record_config.cfg file already show up in game. So these missing records are always going to be blank in game.

I guess this has always been an "issue" per se - it's just that I've never really noticed it before. Is that what everybody else thinks?

TBL does not in any way support the use of the cracked (illegal) version; it's a great game for a very reasonable price given the replay value...

Welcome to The Blue Line!

As Nino said, we don't offer support for the cracked version because it's illegal. The game is still is for sale and we only offer support for those who have legally purchased the game. Considering how well supported and maintained the game is, it still offers outstanding value - as Nino said.
