I can help with the SM-League teams, though should Artzi be PM'd? Is he still working on those?

Can't promise a fast pace so maybe I should take like 3-4 teams and do those, see what happens after that. I probably can do all the remaining teams, if the next update isn't coming anytime in the immediate future so that there's no hurry.

Furthermore, I can't get the editor export the csv. file so is it OK just to send the accde. file?

I sent a message to Artzi (and other researchers) to see how they're getting on. If I don't hear back before Sunday next week then I'll release those teams for other researchers. In the meantime, maybe you could take a couple of the SM-Liiga teams listed in red? If you're not sure how quickly you can do them, maybe just take two or three and see how you get on?

Yes, they're 2011-12 but they're only updated as much as we have volunteers for that region. If I can get the multi-editor up and running then it'll allow us to update more each season.

Updated list below. If you would like to research any teams then please state in this thread which teams you will research before you commence work. This is so that we ensure that users do not research the same teams.

Just to clarify: When researching player career histories for a team, you should go by the team's roster in Manimal v4.0 and not the current real life rosters. We are looking at all contracted players and not just those currently on the NHL 23 man active roster, etc.

To find all contracted players in the Editor, you will see them in the far right hand column in the Staff History Menu. If you're using the spreadsheet method, you will find the team's roster in the Player_list.xls file.

The reason for this is to avoid two users researching career history for the same player because this would result in duplicate entries in the game.

In order to ensure that we get each league complete, I think we should concentrate on teams based in the following leagues to start with: NHL, AHL, ECHL, OHL, QMJHL, German DEL, Russian KHL, Slovak Extraliga and Finnish SM-Liiga. Once we have covered all of those teams, we can decide whether we want to end the project or perhaps research a couple more leagues.


RED = This team is available for research.
GREEN = Data researched and/or entered into the Editor.
BLUE = Archi has received the data and imported into the Manimal Rosters.

If I haven't seen anything about an official retirement I follow the standard that if a player haven't played in any of the past two seasons(09-10 and 10-11) then he is retired

Hey Archi I'm pretty sure that I sent you all the AHL teams that I was doing in two seperate emails. I know that Springfield only has 1 defenseman (Brett Lebda), 7 forwards (Aaron Bogosian, Wade MacLeod, Tim Spencer, Chris D'Alvise, Ryan Garlock, Adam Mair, and Mike Thomas), and 2 goalies (Paul Dainton and Manny Legace) according to the Manimal 4.0 rosters that I downloaded.

If any of those are missing let me know, because I still have the spreadsheets and I'd just have to input them, but for now I can resend you those two emails.

I have imported Jh06's QMJHL teams as well as stone169's additional Springfield players (there is now just Darcy Campbell missing but I will sort that). As you will see from the list further up this thread, we have a heck of a lot complete.

The team records has turned out to be a bit of a dead end. The blank team records in EHM cannot be added via the database (so there is no way to add these). I will therefore work on adding some team league histories (i.e. position, games played, pts, etc for 2006/07+) as well as the SPHL competition history (to replace the UHL history) - and then I will get back to helping with the player career histories.

Just like the team records, the team league histories has also turned out to be a dead end (see here if you want more info). Therefore I'm going to put my name down for some more player career histories instead (along with finishing off something for Nino33). I'll take the remaining ECHL teams. I've also finished adding the SPHL competition history (didn't take long as it's a relatively new league).

On a side note, I tested out our research thus far just to quickly check it out. Just for the heck of it, here are a couple of screenshots below. Note that I haven't yet merged our database with the original pre 2006/07 history and so that's why the screenshots only show 2006/07 onwards.

And I have my first question with the UHL already. Matt Auffrey's built in history is erroneous. Mostly wrong teams from the league, but there are some stats that are incorrect as well. Example in 05-06 he played for Kitchener Rangers, however the game stats have him playing for Saginaw, as well as a few games in the AHL that are missing. Am I to add these as well or just leave the pre-06 history as is.

However could you tell me exactly which histories for the player you would like removed please (i.e. which seasons, which teams and whether it is for the playoffs or regular season). I will then make sure I delete those in preparation for receiving your corrected history for that player.

One is contracted to the Columbus Cottonmouths, and the other is a free agent, the Free agent has the proper history (only two years worth) while the one contracted to the Columbus Cottonmouths has a blank history. Do you want me to enter the proper history into the database? Or just leave it and have Manimal correct it in his next update?
