I took a look at your patch yesterday and it did not seem to work. I just tried using the unmodified default exe and with the Swedish leagues. The shoot-out rule was not listed in the League Overview screen for either.

When I loaded the AMT file, it asked if I wanted to convert to 32-bit (I selected "yes"). I think the issue relates to the bit format of the offsets you have saved. It looks like the offsets are not saved as 32-bit. If you open the AMT in Notepad you'll see that the offsets are eleven digits long (=44-bits?!?!). I would have expected them to be 32-bits (eight digits long).

I haven't tried this yet, but it might be worth going through the offsets and converting them to 32-bit. You can do this by removing the first three zeros from each offset. For example 000006502F4 would become 006502F4.

Yeah it's certainly weird that it works for you and no-one else - and that the offsets are a strange number of digits.

My suggestion of converting the digits to 32-bit via Notepad might not work (I think ArtMoney throws an error if you make certain changes outside of ArtMoney - presumably it uses MD5 checking, etc). It might be better to use ArtMoney itself to make the changes. I'll try and take a further look tonight or later this week.

Perhaps the problem is that I have a 64-bit windows. If you can do something, let us know. I'll try and find some time next week. It's a pity it doesn't work, because this patch is a must have for Euro leagues, just the shoot-outs alone are awesome and so up-to-date, the game really feels a bit "new" with it.

Something has certainly gone wrong somewhere along the way. I don't think it's because you have 64-bit Windows because I do too - also, it switches to 32-bit mode when you load EHM (unless you first clicked on "yes" if it asked whether you wanted to change to 64-bit mode).

I'll do my best.

I've been trying to use the values from your table to update the Swedish Elitserien but without success. I made the change to 28 for the offset labelled 'Elitserien' and I updated those four offsets to 9999 and the single offset to 2099. However, when I start a new game, I don't get the shoot-out rule added to the League Overview screen. ](*,)

Alessandro - Could you post a screenshot of ArtMoney showing what the values are for each of the offsets prior to modification by your patch? I'm curious to see whether your un-modified values match mine.

The shoot-out: check under the league's standings, not the League Overview screen.

Sorry for the late reply.

So the League Overview screen doesn't get updated when you change the shoot-out rules? I noticed the shoot-out rules appear on this screen for the default leagues (e.g. NHL) - but your patch doesn't make that change then?

I tested this about a week or so ago but haven't found the time to post what I found. Now that I have looked at the Standings screen, I can see the O/SW and O/SL headings rather than the OTW and OTL headings that are normally there:

Image

Here's a screenshot of a league game that was decided by a shoot-out (i.e. showing that it isn't merely the headings that changed):

Now, I've only tested the SEL, but the patch seems to work okay for me... :dunno:

With regards to when to load the patch, is it simply at the beginning of the season? I tried reloading my patched saved game in October (October in game date) without the patch and there continued to be shootouts in the SEL.

With that being said, I ask other people to try and use the patch again and report here any feedback.

Ok Archi, I did some further research with my friends, and this patch seems to work with Windows 7 only. Any suggestion to make it compatible with Windows older versions?

Hmm that's strange. The CSD Patch works across different Windows versions and so I don't see why your patch should be any different.

I'll try putting your patch into an exe to see if it is a problem specific to ArtMoney.

My brother told me (he also has Windows 7) that when he first installed this patch, the game crashed. But when he uninstalled Art Money and tried to start a new game, thinking the patch had been removed, for some reason it had not. Now he's playing Finnish SM-liiga with the new foreign-player rules and no crashes have happened so far. I can't remember what year he's in, but well past the usual crash dates, nonetheless.

Here is version 0.1 of the EHM MemPatch: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?ci ... 29C5C5!280

This is still a work in progress. At the moment it has Alessandro's League Patch settings hardcoded into the file. I'm going to work on allowing custom offsets/values to be altered using some sort of config file (in a similar way in which you can use an AMT file with ArtMoney).

To use the MemPatch, load EHM (using the CSD Patch if you want to change the start date). When you are at the opening main menu screen (the one with the buttons for Start New Game, Load Last Game, etc), load the MemPatch. Once the MemPatch has applied, press ENTER to close the patch window. Then play EHM as normal (either by starting a new game or loading an existing saved game).

I have only given it a quick test, but it seems to work fine (e.g. the Eliterserien now has shoot-outs).

So, it does not cause problems if you load an existing save where you do not have the correct number of teams in the Austrian EBEL?

This patch doesn't include (for now) anything related to the Austrian and Finnish leagues
