2006 Non-Patched Manimal Rosters: Questions & Errors

Post by kiLzeD »

This thread is for any questions or difficulties relating to the 2006 Non-Patched edition of the Manimal Rosters. From Manimal version 4 and onwards, the rosters have been designed for use with the Custom Start Date Patch. However, for those unable or unwilling to use the Patch, we have a converter that converts the Manimal Rosters for use without the Patch. This is done by pushing back all of the years in the database so that the current season can be simulated using the 2006 hardcoded start date. - Archi

Have you tried using the non-patched 2006 rosters? Here's the link: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =77&t=8690

You don't need the CSD Patch for the non-patched rosters.

Yeah I have tried that one too, and I get the same error. The last lidas one works perfectly fine though so it is not something to do with the game files it is the Manimal database.

I will try re-downloading after work tonight and see if that fixes it

Did you put the Manimal database in a new folder? People have run into problems when they have overwritten the old rosters with new ones (because not all of the files are overwritten).

Do you have the v3.0.4 patch installed?

Are you using the crack?

I just went and uninstalled the game and reinstalled then re patched and it seems to be working now but only with the CSD patch and that database. I cannot get the 2006 one to work so maybe that is the issue.

I am also having issues.

One Pc is Windows 7 where I have installed the 4.0 rosters and applied the date patch. Game crashes on Oct 1st.

On another Pc with Windows XP I installed the non patched rosters and did not apply the patch. The game crashes when trying to create a new game from the new database. Specifically when I select the leagues to be included. It wont go past that. If I try the Lidas 3.2 database I have no issue creating a game.

Ideas?

The non-patched rosters are slightly buggy because it looks like there is a minor issue/mistake in my converter. I'll be trying to fix this once I've finished the history updating.

With regards to the CSD Patch: Try starting a new game using the Patch and the patched rosters. Don't exit the game but instead put your GM on vacation so that you can sim quickly to the 2nd October. A crash on the 1st October is normally indicative of the Patch not being correctly applied. If you have any further difficulties then let me know via this thread: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... &start=300 :)

I am having problems with the Manimal 4.0 - 2006 Adjusted "Non-Patched Roster", I get an error when I try to edit the database with the Pre-game Editor. I had absolutely no problems editing and playing the "Non-Patched Roster" Manimal uploaded on Thu Dec 08, 2011 but last week I decided to freshen things up by replacing my edited Manimal 4.0 database with the exact same database I downloaded on Thu Dec 08, 2011 but it seems the "Non-Patched Roster" has been updated on Fri Dec 30, 2011 and I believe something tweaked between the old and new roster is the reason I can't save any changes I make with the Pre-game Editor. I have tried many things, even loading Manimal 4.0 in the Pre-game Editor and saving the database right away without making any edits but I still get the Error.

Here is the error I get: "Error re-indexing forenames at index 44", my only option at this point is to press OK and a new box pops up and says "Database has NOT been saved!"

Can someone help me out here?

You can't edit the current version of the non-patched rosters...Archi wrote a program/converter to turn the patched version of the rosters into a non-patched version, and it's a little buggy; I think Archi hopes to fix this after the History Editing is completed...

I see what is happening now, is it possible for Manimal or archibalduk re-upload the roster they originally posted on Thursday December 08, 2011? That version also reflected the player's ages just like this new Manimal 4.0 - 2006 Adjusted

Edit: I can't even start a new game with the Manimal 4.0 - 2006 Adjusted database, the game crashes at the menu where I choose what NHL team I want to manage.

I hope to fix the bug very soon (the history project is nearly complete and fixing the bug is then my top priority). In the mean time, below is a link to the previous 2006 non-patched rosters. These are more like the original Manimal/Lidas Rosters prior to version 4 in that the only dates adjusted are the DOBs, draft dates, date joined dates, etc.

The "re-indexing forenames at index 44" error seems to be caused by the club_records.dat file. If I replace this file with the original unconverted file, the error no longer appears and the Editor is able to save.

I'm looking into fixing the error right now...

I think I've fixed the error. I don't have time to test it with EHM but it does now save okay with the Editor. It was the tiniest mistake - I'd typed '256' instead of '257' in the code! :D

If anybody is interested in trying it out, here it is: <SNIP>

Hi, I'm not sure where to post so I'll post here.

Just installed the new 2006 adjust rosters, however after I select the leagues the game crashes at the "Initializing Game Data" phase

Without the new rosters it loaded fine. I am patched to 3.0.4 or whatever, and i have installed the rosters before without any problem, seems to be a new problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. First post, long time player and forum reader.

Thanks for that. I solved the issue late last night and so didn't have a chance to test it myself (but thought I'd get it online for others to test). I'll take a look later today.

Thanks for the quick reply, i knew it was gonna be you :p

I wasn't aware that you had uploaded a new one since I last played over a month ago. If there's any log or error report that I can post to help I'll be happy to do so, although I'm pretty sure EHM doesn't generate them.

EDIT: I just realized I installed the one posted in the downloads section and not the v1.2 you uploaded on your skydrive. I'll give that a spin and report back when I can.

Aha I see! I have now tested the one I uploaded last night (version 1.2) and it doesn't crash for me. However, I did notice that there is another small issue with the team records which means that not many of the years are pushed back (but it shouldn't cause a crash) - but I've fixed this now (I will upload it later today once I have done some more testing).

Let me know how you get along with v1.2 because hopefully you shouldn't see any crashes with that one (but there is the aforementioned issue with the team records not all being correctly updated).

It all seems to be working okay and so I've uploaded a new version (newer than the one I uploaded yesterday).

Thanks a lot archibalduk, I'm already using the previous 2006 non-patched rosters but I'll update the roster to that new version after a few more in-game seasons. Thanks for the upload once again
