Would be good trade draft picks, but I assume we have time. Timmy send e a proposal for Green, I made another offer but trading for a pick would be easier to do.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Who has Concussion? They were an active owner at one point? Who has Minnesota? I know Stinson is Philly owner....
Maybe we should look at contracting Concussion and Minnesota? Find an owner for Philly?
Then have a draft (not the actual draft but another draft--Contraction draft) to pull from the two teams? Reverse order of standings. Last to first (playoffs not included--regular season standings)
My guess is there are only a few good keepers on the two teams.
Actually I look at Concussion...inactive maybe because have decent team. They made 3 trades this year. Good players. Brad Richards, Jerome Iginla, Lidstrom, Bryz, Kunitz, Pacioretty,RNH, Gagne, Ryan Whitney, Fowler, Corey Schneider.
This team should not be contracted...they will be a credible team next year for sure. Were decent this year.
Now Minnesota-Getzlaf, Filpulla, Lundqvist, Franzen Marc Staal, Ladd...not bad but not very good. Zero trades, few transactions. Finished 2nd from bottom. Yep Definite candidate.
Our commisioners team is not very good either and he really put no time in. But to boot him we need someone to step up. Wont be me.
As for trading...Draft picks are good deals but valuing them is difficult.
And Timmy--My goalie may have to go back in the draft ...but I will get him or another top one back right away...so the devaluation you put on my goalie is not good. I could easily steal one in the draft, just as I lose Niemi if I keep Luongo. So...the value is still the same. Make a deal...we are so close.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
If we were to replace Philly the logical thing to do would be to promote someone from Octavian but I posted on their thread last week and I think they're league was pretty inactive. The contraction draft is a good idea, but would you want to increase the number of keepers this off season to compensate or just leave it the same?
Hey Batdad, I really don't want Luongo that bad. All of those trades have been awful for me. (I think I even added up all of the fantasy points I would be giving up just to get him and it was a little sad) I might just take a chance and see how the rest of the off season goes and then the draft.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Problem with contracting Philly is that is the commish's team. Need someone to step up and run the league.
Ok on not wanting Roberto that bad. But wherever he plays next year he will get 65 games. Toronto, Tampa, Florida, Vancouver, Columbus...all will need him a ton and he will get 35 wins for whatever team he plays for. He is worth a ton, because goaltending position is the make or break in a win or a loss in about 70% of the games, regardless of fantasy points accrued. Fantasy points do not mean that much in the week to week format, They are calculated funny....Sure they can put you over the top, but since week to week category. 22 goals and no goalie means nothing. You win one category but lose the 3 goalie ones....does you no good.

I can potentially be a volunteer for commissioner but I'll have to think about it. I'm at least one of the more active GM's.

You're right there, I bet if I looked back through my games I would have done better if I would have had someone like Roberto.batdad wrote:Problem with contracting Philly is that is the commish's team. Need someone to step up and run the league.

I like this league and do not wish it to fade away. Let's make an effort to revive it.

I have taken over the reigns from Stinson and I will pull the plug on the Octavian league for now.
It is better to move any willing GMs to the MHL. The OHL had very little activity last year anyway
