I loaded Lidas 3.1 (which I believe is the database you are using) and my guess is Cam Neely:

You really should try it yourself too. I think that once you try my way and find a regen you will feel confident in finding any regen. ;)

Looks like you hit the nail on the head. The only other player I would think it MIGHT be is Shanahan. AT first i thought it might have been Graves but his aggression was too low. Bother Shanahan and Neely fit this player best. Thanks for your help.

I believe you are correct on all three. Your goalie will gain a few more pounds when he turns 22, bringing him closer to Toskala's adult weight. Good job on finding out who they are!

I also drafted this guy who I THINK is Brodeur, as he's the only person with close enough potential of 196

EDIT
Actually you can sorta see the Player/Staff total...when you load the saved game into the SavedGame Editor the total is shown growing in the bottom left corner as it loads...It occurs at supersonic speed, but I could see that it didn't reach 49000
I took a look through the visible ID numbers for a bit and the highest I saw was 48628.
In the database at start-up there were 44588 Players/Staff.......so the database, by year 15 of play, HAD GROWN by over 4000
I assume this is because 4000 players retired and became coaches

but this begs the question...what happens to coaches when they retire?

I don't think it's because players retire and become coaches (the game ADDS over 4000 names at game start-up...a player who's already in the database and becomes a coach does not add to the total number of players/staff)

Alessandro explained why this occurs...
Alessandro wrote:This is mostly because the game at the startup creates some players to fill vacations in a number of teams/leagues

I did some significant testing (http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 110&t=8146) and found that players can just retire (when looked up in the SavedGame Editor their "Job" is Retired), they can become Staff (where their "Classification" changes to Non-Player and their "Job" to Assistant GM, Head Coach, Scout, etc), or they simply disappear from the database (when you look them up using the SavedGame Editor they can no longer be found) - IMO it's those that "disappear" from the database that become regens...

Regards :-)

^^^ Every player regens the year he retires, regardless of whether he goes on to become a scout/coach/etc.

Which is good, allows me to have Koivu coach while his regen plays, to achieve the maximum level of Koivu-ness possible.

I saw here that Lemieux retired on June 24th, do most retirements happen during June? Is there any info on when exactly a player regens? Is it a certain day of the year or is it right around his retirement date?

There is a batch of retirements after each seasons end mostly after the draft. You can have some players retiring during the season due to injuries. Regen appears at random dates in a year. North-American regen 2 years after the retirement and for Europe it's 4 years later.

Great info thanks! Any idea what day/month the batch of regens are created? Also what age are the regens when they are created.

Well their age is depending on the year they'll get drafted. So 2 years for N-A players is 16 and for EU players it's 14-15 I think. Their birthday date is random though and honestly I don't remember when they appear. :-k

Backwards Philou. Jan 1 I believe is date of regeneration. And....North Americans regen for Junior draft at 14 years old. Euros regen at 16.

One quick question...if a player has two nationalities and he become a regen will he only get the one that he has played for national team or the one he was born...i read about kolzig born in SA that his regan is German only. But in other cases? Must add that i play ehm 2005 and that i added to some of the regens im interested and will retire soon a double citizenship with save game editor..

Is it possible that Hasek regen wasn't drafted in 2009 and isn't eligible for 2010 draft? I looked for him in 2009, now it's November 2009 and I can't find any Czech goalie with flair that high. In fact, there are only two Czech goalies with flair higher than 14 in the whole game - Prusek (33 years old, 15 flair) and Duba (28 years old, 16 flair). I used the player search for that - is there any other way to find the regen (if he's there somewhere)? Or will he just emerge next year? I use the Updated Unfaked DB and in my previous game with this DB there was Hasek regen in 2010 draft.

No worries. If you post in an old thread, it becomes "undead". :-)

So as it turns out, Junior Preference is apparently not generated for regens

im in 2022 of a 60 player database, all of them with definded preferences. (ignoring random spawns) Of all of the players in the 2022 game, and the only players without "None" (according to the scout tool) are the players originally in the game at the start

You posted that question in the totally wrong forum. It should be here.
You also should tell what db you are using

Pretty sure it's Hasek, but I'm a little confused because of the number. Using the standard db used in the latest patch of EHM 2007.

EDIT: No doubt, it's Hasek. The full report says "plays with a complete disregard for goaltending technique", which the Dominator obviously did. :D

And does anybody have any idea who this could be?:

The only Slovakian LW/RW I can think of would be Marcel Hossa. Gaborik is RW/LW, at least in standard database.
