After the NHL-Season 2005-06, the League were in much Financial Problems, so Commisoner Gary Bettman decided to close down the NHL and every Player was released by their Teams(I used the Eastside Free Agents Utility)!
After some Months, the remaining 17 Club-Owners decided to build a new Organisation for professional Hockey - The North American Hockey Association (NAHA). The League consisting of 8 Canadian Teams and 22 American Teams, are separated in 2 Conference (West and East) and 6 Divisions (North East, Atlantic, South East – North West, Central and South West).
The Divisons with Teams:
North East: Buffalo Americans, Maine Whalers, Ontario Bulls, Quebec Nationales, Toronto Thunder
Atlantic: Boston IceMen, Indiana Generals, New Jersey Rattlers, New York Metropolitans, Philadelphia Revolution
South East: Florida Spartans, Nashville IceBreakers, Ohio Stars, Pittsburgh Surge, Washington Patriots
North West: Alaska Oil Kings, Alberta Grizzlies, Edmonton Rush, Portland Lumberjackx, Vancouver Millionaires
Central: Chicago Night Hawks, Michigan Pirates, Minnesota Wildcats, Saskatoon Buzzsaws, Winnipeg Turbos
South West: Alabama Slammers, California Eagles, Nevada Gamblers, San Jose Hammerheads, Texas Outlaws
The Alaska Oil Kings struggled all Season long and ended it with 25 Points(11 Wins, 68 Loss and 3 OT-Loss/95 Goals(last in League), 291 GA, 4,7% Powerplay and 82,6 % Penalty-Killing(both last in League). So their President Scott Potter released GM Lance Nethery from his Duties on April,3rd. After 5 Days of Searching, they found in 36 Year old-Canadian Dean Scott their new General Manager. He only played some Years in Junior Hockey and coached his Son´s Hockey Team.
Now his Duties are to build up a new Team, that have slightly the Chance to make the Playoffs in 2 or 3 Years and develop some of newer acquired Talents into NHL Players.
April/May/June Recap
The Day after the Season ended, new GM Dean Scott began to select the Players he wants to keep for the 2007-08 Campaign and who have to leave the Team! Fortunately, the former GM signed some good Players, who couldn´t make the Rosters in 2006 and played in Europe, College or Juniors.

Round 2 #31 C Zach Hamill of Red Deer Rebels/WHL, Age: 18 Height: 5´11 Weight: 189lbs
Last Season: 66 Games, 4 Goals, 7 Assists, +8, 48 PiM
Expectation: Hamill had a tough Year, with Jonathan Toews-Bryan Little-Gilbert Brule, Zach Boychuk and Darren Helm in front of him, he saw only little Time on 4th Line. Has all Potential to be a future Top Center.
Round 3 #61 RD Thomas Hickey of Lake Superior Lakers/CCHA, Age: 18 Height: 5´11 Weight: 174lbs
Last Season: 49 Games, 4 Goals, 35 Assists, -1, 62 PiM

Last Season: 69 Games, 31 Goals, 32 Assists, +19, 73 PiM

Round 4 #115 LD Keith Aulie of Llyodminster Bobcats/AJHL, Age:18 Height: 6´6 Weight: 211lbs
Last Season: 51 Games, 13 Goals, 30 Assists, +4, 92 PiM

Last Season: 57 Games, 27 Goals, 54 Assists, +36, 83 PiM
Expectation: The Scouts sees him as a possible 1st Line Player, but realistic he is a Star in the AHL and could be a good 3rd Line Center. Has good Speed, is creative and is a Workhorse, should work on his Shot.

Last Season: 70 Games, 51 Goals, 44 Assists, +30, 64 PiM

Trainingscamp & Pre-Season
September Recap
Trainingscamp started at September,14th until 22nd
Every Player came in top Shape on first Day, also every invited Guestplayers. So we are prepared on fitness Level for a long Season
We had a very medicore Camp, with nearly no One being supreme or absolute disappointing. Only 19 Yr.old RW Cal Clutterbuck (Kitchener Rangers) had Effort to convince the Coaches to get signed from the Team, he was 3rd best Scorer of the whole Camp.
Our first Home-Pre-Season Game came on September,17th against Chicago Night Hawks(9288 Visitors). Lost a decent Game 2-5, Goals came from RW C.Clutterbuck and LD Paul Kurceba(PPG). Good Game from G Joanathan Bernier(allowing only 2 Goals in 30 Mins.)
On September,18th & 19th the NAHA Season Preview & Player Rating were released. None of my Players or Prospects made it on the List. On Team Ratings, the Oil Kings were set on 29th Position, before the Texas Outlaws. Best Teams for the Championship are defending Champs Ontario Bulls, New York Metropolitans, San Jose Hammerheads, New Jersey Rattlers & Michigan Pirates.
2nd Game was a Road Game at Ohio Stars on September,22nd(9668 Visitors). Loosing a good Game 3-2 after a good Effort of our 3rd & 4th Line this Night. Goals by C Dominic Moore and RW Aaron Voros.
Next up was a horroable Game at Home(8323 Visitors) against Alabama Slammers on September,24th. After a disaster of a Game,we were beaten with 0-7. Even all Lines were shaken and everybody played on diffrent Lines, everybody was rated under 7!!
4th Game was in Maine at the Whalers.(9142 Visitors) Another bad Performance by our Teams, loosing 6-2. Had Goals from RD Zbynek Michalek & RW Jean-Pierre Dumont(+1 Assist).
Our last Pre-Season Game was at Home against the Nevada Gamblers(8578 Visitors). Really good Game from our Team, but no Goal-luck on even Strenght. Loosing 2-4 after 2 PP-Goals form C Patrick Sharp and LW Dustin Penner
So the Oil Kings went 0-5 through Pre-Season with 8 Goals and 25 GA. Still some work left for the Manager and Coaches to find the right Tactic and Lineformations.
