Challenge 24 Interest
Hi folks! We're not seeing much activity in the current challenge with the Swift Current Broncos. I'm just trying to gauge interest in this Challenge to see if we should end the challenge early or continue on. Please choose the appropriate response...

Re: Challenge 24 Interest
As usual, I do not have the time to play the challenge. Started it a little but I haven't gone further than the 1st segment.
I probably won't have the time to finish even a season as I spend most my time editing the rosters plus my computer is super-slow so the actual playing takes forever

Lack of time. Had a vacation, and also had my Kitchen and Bathroom renovaed. Still working on getting the house back in order. Also will be heading out for a weekend again next weekend.
Yeah lack of time.

Re: Challenge 24 Interest
My EHM editing work continues to take up all my time/attention...I played a bit of the Dallas Stars Challenge, and since then I'd looked forward to the idea of playing in the WHL challenge - but instead I'm focusing on getting version 1 of the 1974 database out by summer's end, and thus not playing in the challenge...

Re: Challenge 24 Interest
I didnt start up this challenge knowing game time in the summer is low.I am slowly continuing on with my 3rd season with Columbus from challenge 23.
I am following what is going on with this one. I have never used a junior team and would like to do so , Maybe run another one in October ?

I'm out guys. I have one whole season completed but I haven't posted my stats or screenshots. I'll get them up asap though.

Re: Challenge 24 Interest
I wanted to play as Seattle and the Swift Current team was just so bad I didn't have any interest in playing with the team. I have continued my Challenge 23 team until the 5 season and I will keep going with it.
I know it might be too much to ask, but the Red Wings for Challenge 25 would be interesting. They completely struck out with Free Agents this season even though they had 28 million in salary cap room.. and they lost Lidstrom and Stuart. Just saying, it would be a challenge.

Oh, we've got something all set to roll out for 25. We'll kick it off after this challenge and before the next set of rosters kick off. This one will be tough!

No, that does not qualify as a challenge.bestrafer7 wrote: I know it might be too much to ask, but the Red Wings for Challenge 25 would be interesting. The Wings are still a solid team. Too many good players to count as a challenge

Re: Challenge 24 Interest
I began playing but have had to give up due to persistent lack of time. It's a shame, since I missed the previous two CHL challenges and was looking forward to this one.

I'm playing but I can see that a lot of people could be put off by this brutal team, and it's so little you can do with the team. But I like the challenge as I'm not used to being in the last place and trying to gain at least on spot and this challenge doesn't end with half the participants winning the PO's after only one season.

Re: Challenge 24 Interest
The problem seems to be that for the first two seasons the prospect pool is very poor, so you have to play at least three seasons before there's any decent talent available, which means there's simply too many important roster spots to fill when entering the third season to even sustain the limited amount of talent on the roster. I think it takes at least four seasons before proper drafting etc can really start making a difference, and by then it's four seasons of watching a bad group playing bad hockey.
This challenge would've been far more interesting if trading was allowed, or if there was even the possibility to sign UFA's. This is more like a waiting game up until season 4. I still think I'll continue on to season 3 to see if I'm at least able to improve my defense. For the first time I actually have a decent backup goalie next season.

It's just to skip the first seasons fast forward style. Just set the basic stuff, do scouting and training.

Yeah, some games I did just that, but it's also fun trying to make in-game tactical changes to see if there's a chance of turning things around.visualdarkness wrote:It's just to skip the first seasons fast forward style. Just set the basic stuff, do scouting and training.

after all the losses I've given up turning things around in the first season, one more or less loss means nothing anymore.smokey wrote:Yeah, some games I did just that, but it's also fun trying to make in-game tactical changes to see if there's a chance of turning things around.visualdarkness wrote:It's just to skip the first seasons fast forward style. Re: Challenge 24 Interest
My team was terrible in that first season but they really turned it around in the second season. Now that I'm in the third season I'm kind of in the middle. I lost some of the key players we started with (due to their age) and I've got some other guys I'm working with. It's very challenging!
