Just me the newbie again guys...

Hello! So here's the scoop, I applied for and was given the role as team canada GM. But I could not figure out how to select the players i wanted on my roster. Auto fill roster gave me a naff team that won bronze. Then I got fired. haha. Just wondering how to do that, if I ever get the job again. I had a shot and I blew it!! hahah. Yeah, every time I went to my Canada Gm screen, then clicked "rosters" it brought up my oilers roster. Then I tried player search, but it gave no options to put them on the team either. :S On the plus side my Oil are 5th in West so far, and I have so much depth at center and on D that its ridiculous. I'm running 3 scoring lines, and a fourth line with Dave Bolland, Brian Boyle and some other big dude. So Its ok too.

If you guys care, I don't know, but here are my lines:::

Hall--RNH--Eberle
Ladd--Carter--Seguin
Pajarrvi--Strome--Doan( was out for 3months injury, and put on 3rd line upon return...was on 1st..)
Some guy--Boyle--Bolland


Mezaros--Doughty
Smid--Suter
D.Hamilton--Klefbom

Mezaros is by far my best D right now. All sorts of accolades and praise from the press.

Dubnyk(whos pretty good in this game actually)
Pavelec(meh, good backup)

Some good trades, and lucky FA signings got me that. Still have Galchenyuk, Yakupov,Faksa,Maata,Musil and a couple others in the minors. I've been trying to swing a deal with Columbus who has the rights to Seth Jones, but we haven't been able to come to a deal yet. They wanted RNH,Strome and a 1st round pick for Jones and a 2nd. Thats crazy!! Hopefully I can make it work. I can afford to trade some forwards, but I'd rather trade the older guys like Ladd or Doan, but the coach report on those guys say that they are having an incredibly positive impact on the team, so I don't want to wreck that. "team has a good locker room atmosphere" "proud to be playing for the Oilers" So they're happy too I guess.

Worst trade I made so far was when Nathan Mackinnon wanted a trade from my team, and I granted his request and dealt him to Minnesota for a couple rookies I thought would pan out, but didn't Assistant GM Bob Hartley said that we would win in that trade too. Dang!...

However I did get Olli Maata (rights) for Jake Gardiner straight up when he requested a trade. Then the fans and the board were extremely happy with me for getting that deal.

Anyway, Not sure if you guys care about my life story in EHM here, but thanks in advance for any help you have, and open to advice about my rosters/lines and trades, if you want!

Go to the player search.
Go to the "Filters" dropdown at the upper right.
Click "Configure".
Tick the box at the bottom that says "Exclude players ineligible for the national team".
Click "Ok".

The resulting list will be players that are eligible for the National team that you're in charge of. Right click them to add them to the roster.

Oh! hahaha!! You know, it seems like such an old game, that I had never though of right clicking this whole time! ahahaha....thanks man, appreciate it. Team Canada gave me another chance and I didn't even get bronze with my naff team with like 1 star player on it. Well my Oilers finally won the cup 7 games against Montreal. Who would've thought a SCF with 2 Canadian teams....unreal. I am going to apply for the next WJC and hopefully with the help here, I can win gold!! thanks again!
