Players leaving midway through a season

Post by Tiger Tom »

Hi, was wondering if anyone knows of any way I can use the Pre-Game Editor to fix a bug I'm having.

In the English Premier League each team is allowed 4 'import' players. Naturally these players are much better than the majority of British players on the EPL rosters. The problem is that come October/November time clubs in Europe (often Czech Rep/Slovakia) come and nick/buy the import players off the EPL teams! I've tried increasing each teams Reputation and the league Reputation but this has led to Elite League (top British division) Brits dropping down to EPL clubs.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can stop this from happening?

Many thanks,
Tom.

I've have just finished updating and re-rating all of the players in the EIHL, EPL and NIHL-1 for the next Manimal Roster Update and have come across the same problem (it is essentially a bug which apparently affects a fair few leagues). There's a thread on a similar topic here which relates to players refusing to renew contracts: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 33#p146533

I have found setting a player's Loyalty to 17 helps (any lower and it doesn't seem to be so effective). This at least keeps them on the roster until their contract expiry. You can also try setting his present team as one of his favourite teams (on the Likes/Dislikes tab of the Pre Game Editor). However, I expect raising Loyalty to 17 will do the trick - it has been very successful with my roster updating work.

This then just leaves the problem of players refusing to re-sign contracts (mentioned in the other thread). One possible solution might be to reduce a player's Current, Home and World Reputation attributes. As a general rule for North America, we usually set the Home Rep as equal to his Current Ability, Current Rep is 5 lower than his Current Ability and World Rep is 20 less than his Current Ability. E.g. if a player had a Current Ability of 50, we set his reputation attributes as follows: Home Rep: 50, Current Rep: 45, World Rep: 30.

However, it seems this method of setting Reputations outside of North America doesn't work very well. My brother mentioned that if you set Reps low enough, you can attract bigger players. So it sounds like a possible solution to players not re-signing is to further reduce their Reputation attributes. You may want to try this if you run into the contract re-signing bug.
