I started a save using the UUDB v5.5 and took over the team in my heart, Frölunda Indians. IRL they have had some really harsh years since the lockout 04-05 so I decided to change history. I've now played 20 seasons and have led the team to winning the Swedish Elite Leauge 13 times. Some players that have played for the team during the years that I belive you will recognize are Tuukka Rask (he's been the teams 1st keeper since 14/15 (except for 21/22) and is still going strong..), Mikael Backlund (who has been the leading center for 11 years), Joe Finley (the go-to guy of the defence for several seasons and played for the club between 15/16 and 25/26), Kevin Shattenkirk (did a big inpact), Seth Ambroz, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Tobias Enström (only one season, didn't find any better that offseason), David Krejci (played a key-role for some years), Alexander Steen, Viktor Stålberg, Dan Girardi, Jeff Schultz, Jhonas Enroth and John Grahame.

During the years I've been trying to find young talents and let them go through our junior-system and if they're good enough get a spot in the senior team. That has led to a rather home-grown team wich is fun. It has also led to a lot of players going from Frölunda to the NHL. Some of them has become regular NHLers or even big stars and some of them has come back home.

Now we're in the beggining of the 26-27 pre-season and we're once again aiming for the gold!

I'm managing Bruins in Nino's 74-75db. My team was almost unbeatable last season (07-08) I played 33 games in a row without losing. That season I won Stanley Cup. I've cheated a bit acquiring Tretjak, Zhluktov and Kapustin from Europe. I acquired also Balderis and Shalimov but traded them to weak teams. I’ve never had both goalies been Vezina-candidates. Both Gilbert and Tretjak has star-reputation. Orr wasn’t only defender having over 70-point season, Canadiens young Larry Robinson scored 75 points and was Norris runner-up.

My Stanley Cup winning team:
Goalies:
Gilles Gilbert 51, 41-6-3, 1.78, 92.9%, 7so Vezina Trophy/ 2nd All-Star Team / Jennings Trophy runner-up
Vladislav Tretjak 34, 30-2-0, 1.62, 92.8%, 5so Jennings Trophy / Rookie All-Star / Vezina Trophy 3rd place
Defense:
Bobby Orr 82 21+59=80, +63, 87pms Norris Trophy/ Hart Trophy/ Plus-minus Awars/ First All-Star Team / Masterton runner-up
Pekka Rautakallio 79 12+32=44, +47, 30pms Conn Smythe 3rd place
Jimmy Watson 79 2+21=23, +38, 30pms
Mike Milbury 82 1+8=9, +25, 175pms
Bob Plager 31, 2+10=12, +16, 16pms / STL/Houston stats: 69, 9+29=38, +28, 58pms
Pat Stapleton 72, 6+15=21, +16, 54pms
Offense:
Dave Forbes 54, 9+8=17, +12, 28pms
Sergei Kapustin 77, 18+24=42, +27, 71pms / Rookie All-Star Team
Don Marcotte 46, 31+25=56, +23, 14pms
Butch Goring 77, 21+31=52, +30, 14pms
Johnny Bucyk 82, 24+63=87, +21, 55pms
Phil Esposito 77, 48+84=132, +49, 100pms Conn Smythe Trophy/ Lester B. Pearson Award/First All-Star Team / Art Ross Trophy runner-up/Hart Trophy runner-up / Rocket Richard Trophy 3rd place
Viktor Zhluktov 78, 12+13=25, +18, 55pms Rookie All Star Team
Mike Bossy 45, 13+15=28, +3, 8pms
Wayne Cashman 78, 31+31=62, +23, 45pms
Ken Hodge 80, 48+88=136, +58, 84pms Art Ross Trophy/First All-Star Team / Rocket Richard Trophy runner-up/Plus-minus Award runner-up / Hart Trophy 3rd place
Terry O’Reilly 82, 6+16=22, +16, 58pms
Andre Savard 82, 13+15=28, +14, 58pms

It’s December-08 and Orr is having incredible season. After 31 games, he has scored 8+27=35 with +41 and 24 penalty minutes. :joy:

batdad wrote:I started a game awhile back. I started as unemployed. In Feb 2007 I was hired by Almtuna in Swedish Allskevan. I stayed in the Allskevan one more year, and then was promoted to Elitserien, IN 07-08 I was promoted, and managed to keep the team going in the Elitserien. November 08 (08-09) I was hired by the Regina Pats of the WHL. The Pats were in dead last place...and I somehow got them into the playoffs, while still following my rule of only 1 trade, and 2 signings per season. That year I managed to get to the WHL Final, where I lost. Staying in Regina for 09-10 I finished 1st, won the President's Trophy and finished as Mem Cup Runner up. I applied for 2 NHL jobs, but did not get either, which was fine because I was just doing it to see what would happen. I was going to stay in Regina.
2010-11. Finished 1st again in Regina, won Pres Cup again...and lost Mem Cup final again. 11-12 Finally! 1st, Pres Cup, Mem Cup Champions. Great year.
At this point it was clear I had set up Regina for a dynasty...and was attempting to get NHL jobs for real. Did not get three (Carolina, Edmonton, Philadelphia)...

So...finally in July of 2012 I decided to move to the AHL and took a job with the previous season's 2nd worst team the Manitoba Moose. This was a naff job. The AHL is horrible to work in, especially when you get a bunch of Canuck scrubs who are 30 years old. I got the team into a playoff position for the first time in 4 years, but then a job came up I could not refuse to apply for.

The Anaheim Ducks were stuggling mightily...27th overall, 5th in their division. I had to take it. So March 3, 2013 I finally made it to the NHL. Not much I could do about that season, post trade deadline. But at least I had some time to scout for what would turn out to be a horrible draft year.

The team was old and slow, so we let a couple of guys go, but there were 3 players who had played with the Ducks all the way through their careers (Well at least since 06-07) either in Syracuse or Anaheim...and I had to keep them, and will until they retire. Cannot say who they are as I played the game with the setting of not having real player names.

Made a couple of moves to get younger, and signed some undrafted Free Agents to play in Syracuse. One of them...Hank Brown...had played for me in Regina, and Manitoba and was doing real well with Syracuse...so in 2013-14 he got called up to the the big club. He played 2 years for me, and then could not make the team anymore.

2013-14...I finished 3rd in the Conference and managed to win one round in the playoffs.
2014-15 I finished 5th in the Conference, 2nd in the division...and managed to get to the Stanley Cup final where I lost to Boston in 7 games.
2015-16 Just completed this season, and again finished 5th, 2nd in the divison to LA...and lost to LA in the Semi finals in 7 games in double OT. Boston went on to win their 2nd straight Stanley Cup in 7 games, this time over the KIngs.

So...

Almtuna-Regina-Manitoba-Anaheim. Now I am also GM of Team Canada for 2016 Deutchland Cup....will see how that goes, since I know none of the guys in Europe that are Canadian all that well.

I will be applying for all Team Canada jobs because I want the 2018 Olympics.

I have built this team through the draft, and still have the 3 original Ducks on my roster. One is my captain, and is 36. The others are both 32 and will be with me a bit longer I think. Both are very good players. I have signed only 2 UFAs in the time period, and this season I will finally have a strong goalie with me, as I have not made any moves to bring one in.

The last two seasons I have made 1 move at the Trade deadline for a rental player, and have let both go to FA after the season was complete.

Interestingly my 50 man roster consists of:
20 Canadians (up about 10 from when hired--all 10 were drafts)
4 Czechs
1 Finn
1 Brit (one of the UFAs I signed for minor league team...although he is now challenging for a spot)
1 Nigerian (one of the 2 main team UFAs I signed..was team player of the year 2015-16...I love it!!!)
1 Pole (2015 6th round pick...scouts out as a 3rd line potential)
5 Russians (down about 5 from when I started with the team...let 3 go to UFA, one retired)
7 Swedes (including my captain, and 6 of them played for me last season and will again this year...all drafted by Ducks 5 by me)
6 Americans

I have 3 spots open currently...for my 2015 draft picks who have to make the team at camp. All are in the CHL so not an issue. I may sign and send to Syracuse if they show well at camp, as all will be 20 year olds.

NOTE: I am really enjoying this game, and it has delayed my start into the new rosters, and CSD patch. The Ducks were a real financial mess when I took over as well...and not knowing ANY of the players because things were so mixed up by the time I took the job has been great.

Also..only making moves at deadline, or start of UFA season has really made it fun. And only adressing one need at at time. Just slow and develop players. My first from 2013 still is not on the team. He is a great RW who spent 2013-14 in the Juniors and won Rookie of the Year in the AHL in 2014. Interestingly, my third round pick from 2013 ( A Swede LW) won rookie of the year in AHL in 2013-14, and was Calder Trophy winner for the Ducks in 2014-15. Kid scored 40 goals in first NHL season, and had 74 points.Mostly 3rd and 4th line duty and 2nd Unit PP doing that. Playoffs? Moved him up to 1st line PP and 2nd Line LW--3-13-16 in 19 games and leading scorer. ratings huge. Attached to these players and none of them have a real life counterpart that I can tell who they are regens of (or real life who they are)

So career:

Unemployed Aug 06-Feb 07
GM Almtuna-Swedish Allskevan Feb 07-April 08
GM Almtuna Swedish Elitserien April 08-Nov 08
GM Regina Pats WHL Nov 08-Jul 2012. Won 3 Presidents Cups, and 1 Mem Cup
GM Manitoba Moose AHL Jul 2012-Mar 2013 (HATED THIS STAY, and broke rule and got out)
GM Anaheim Ducks NHL March 2013-Present. (ONe SC Final appearance)

I will stay with the Ducks at least until I win one wup there. Then the plan is to move on to a team that is a bottom feeder and build them up as well.

Here is what has gone on in Regina since I left (Totally set up for dynasty).
2013..won the League Champ trophy (Scotty Munro), lost Pres Cup final
2014..Won the Presidents Trophy (Playoff champ), and finished 3rd at Mem Cup
2015..lost in Presidents Cup final for WHL
2016-Won Scotty Munro, Presidents Cup, and finished 2nd at Mem Cup.

So 4 years out the team has won hardware each and every season! And I have stolen 2 coaches, 3 scouts, and brought in 3 former players...

BTW THere is this one player I have a total attachment to: Hank Brown (RD/LD) was undrafted in the WHL, I signed him as a UFA there. He won WHL rookie of the year he was then drafted by Detroit in the 6th round of NHL draft. They let him go. When I moved to Manitoba brought him with me,where he averaged7.5 game ratings for me when I moved to Anaheim brought him to Syracuse, and then Anaheim. He was a decent performer there too. Unfortunately, now he is 23 and an AHL Vet..who won't make my team and is only 3rd dman there so I let him go.
He just signed with ST Louis, so he still has NHL career ahead. Why did I get attached? His attributes are ALL orange save strength. But he is not a fighter. Just 6'6 and 265. :-D

An update on this game.

The Ducks have been back to back Stanley Cup Champions in 2020 and 2021 under my leadership. The roster is full of players who are winning individual awards and the team has won the Presidents Trophy 2018 2020 2021. THey have been Stanley Cup Runner up three times since I joined the team 2015, 2017, 2019.

So in the last 6 years of my reign in Anaheim there has been a trophy of some kind every year except 2016.

I figured it was time to start looking around the league, and I did. The Western Conference has three really BAD teams. Phoenix (1 playoff appearance since 2012, and 3 last in the WC finishes. Columbus 3 playoff appearances since game start up 2006, and St Louis...with only 2 playoff appearances in the last 10 years.)
Of those three teams CBJ and Phx had just fired and hired a new GM in the last season or two. But ST lOuis......Well their GM had been there for at least 10 years (as far back as the GM history goes in the game)....

Then in the East...2 bad teams.

1. CArolina--Same GM for entire history. 4 playoff appearances in the history of the game ...so since 2006. All of those were prior to 2011 in the game. So 10 years without making it at all.

2. Boston- 6 playoff appearances in entire game history. All of them prior to 2015.

So....I said I would move from Anaheim once I had made them a force, and they are....

I go through the draft and July 1 as Anaheim Gm....because I am not going to manually fire a GM and take over a team. I am waiting for the job to become vacant.

July 23 rolls around (2021) and the GM of the Carolina Hurricanes retires. The entire state of Carolina rejoices as Jim "Super geezer" Rutherford (Well actually fake name game so not him....but ....its him)....packs it in. Think he is 120 years old.

July 23 I apply for the job. July 25th I get it. So I am now the GM of one of the worst teams in the NHL. I only assume this was a massive pay raise for what I was getting from the Ducks.

I have two players on my roster who used to play for me in Anaheim, 1 who played for me in Manitoba, and 1 who played for me way back when in Regina. However...the Manitoba player will not make the team. And the Regina kid is really just a prospect who is unsigned...27 and playing in Europe.

I took over and hired immediately the Syracuse goalie coach and one other assistant. I hired several scouts...THE CANES HAD ZERO SCOUTS IN EUROPE AND ONLY ONE IN CANADA. They had 9 USA scouts. Ugh.

They have a decent young goalie, and a way overpaid defenseman. But they are below the cap floor so an overpaid dman is okay. Going to have to figure that out. Don't think I have ever managed a team below cap floor.

This team has 2 guys over the age of 38. Yes 2...and both are paid very well. Keeping re cap.

The draft the last few years for this team is HORRIBLE. Not one player is even a top line guy. But two will play there.

So...not expecting much in my first couple of years here.

Hired a Swede, and a Czech and a LIthuanian as scouts. Now at least I can get some Euros scouted properly.

Again...not trading draft picks, not making more than 1 deal per season until am way to good a team (Like the Ducks where I had to move a few guys for picks the last 2 years there....and I lost three one year to FA who were point per game players.

DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT. With the picks I have.

Wow. At the 2022 Olympic Break.

The teams in order of ranking after 4 games of prelim round

Group B

Russia
Slovakia
Sweden
Czech Rep
Hungary
Croatia

Group A

Canada
Great Britain
Finland
Germany
USA
Austria

Wow...the Brits are not only in the Olympics but are possibly going to move on to the next round. Beat Austria 5-2, beat the USA 5-3 (wow), tied Germany 1 all, and then got smoked by the Finns 11-2. They have 5 points and are up against Canada in their last game.

Germany with 3 points has Canada and USA left to play. 2 games...but two tough ones.
USA with 2 points has Austria and Germany left to play...may pass the Brits
Austria with 0 points has USA and Finland left to play...DONE. Will not pass the Brits. Can pass Germany and USA though...

Will update the Olympics as move along. This is cool.

Brits finish 4th in Group A. They lost their final game to Canada 3-0. They have one player playing in the NHL a 6'6 LW/C who is 30 years old and is a real good player. Averaging 30 goals per season. Hmmm.....wonder who he is.

The 2022 Olympic QF

Russia vs Great Britain
Czech vs Canada
SLovakia vs USA
Finland vs Sweden

Maybe the Brits can repeat their 1936 Olympic glory. I wonder how the heck the Brits became so strong. Beating the US (and Austria) is a big result - as it tying with Germany. Heck, even losing to Canada 3-0 is a good result!

Do regens inherit player height? I cannot remember...

Was waiting for that.....

And the answer is ...... NO

Russia 6 Great Britain 1
Canada wins
Sweden wins
USA wins

Semi finals

Canada 3 USA 1
Russia 4 Sweden 2

But hey....Britain has one of the top 8 teams in the league...as for height inherit....I don't think so...they just grow on their own. But if I had a guess.....wanna shake my Hand???? I dunno for sure, maybe it is one of those players Manimal put in (or Lidas) as a surprise. I do have a Nigerian on the ducks in this game and a Korean on my Hurricanes who is definitely not Richard Park.

So first season in Carolina...

Finished 1st in the conference, not dominant first though I was 7 points out of 8th and 12 out of 9th.
I made two deals...one with my former Ducks---which proved to be a bigger steal than I thought. I got a guy with a career high of 21 goals and 42 points. A Swede LW, who in Anaheim was only playing 3rd line. He played 1st in Carolina and scored 35 goals and 75 points.
I then made a bigger deal with Detroit and brought in a good RW and he scored 35 for me in 60 games.

I have three ex Ducks on my roster. One I dealt to Carolina a year before I took the job. He was my 2nd line C.
The other was a Free Agent RW who I signed cheap. His best year in Anaheim was 10 goals as a 3-4 line RW. For me as 2nd line RW in Carolina 25 goals.
BTW--not posting names because they do not matter since I am using fake names in this game.

Lost in the first round in 7 games to the Ottawa Senators. GUess what teams are in the Stanley Cup final? Ottawa vs Anaheim.

Heading to the draft. I have all my picks, plus a 2nd rounder that the ex GM in Carolina got out of Toronto before I got the job. Not much in the draft this season, and I only have 1 unsigned prospect. The other guys....were useless and released. BAD DRAFTING before I came in.

So 1 year in CArolina already made playoffs. Maybe this is going to be too easy. Nashville was 30th overall and by 9 points to the 29th overall Laffs. The Laffs went from 2nd to 29th in one year.

Currently in my third year as GM with the Florida Panthers. Year one was terrible, but I managed to trade away a couple veterans for a few younger players plus draft picks. Second year, we were off to a slow start, but after the trade deadline, the team went on a 10 game winning streak, and clinched a spot in the playoffs as a 3rd seed, the team dealt with the Carolina Hurricanes in six games, but lost to the New York Rangers in seven games after Marc Staal scored in double overtime in the Eastern Conference Semi Finals.

Year three started off great, but in late January it start to trail off a bit. We did manage to clinch the playoff spot once again as the 7th seed. The team was again facing the New York Rangers, the Rangers took a 3 - 0 series lead, surprisingly the Panthers were able to come back and win three straight overtime games to tie the series, however the Rangers came together as a unit in game seven and won with a shutout 2 - 0, Milan Michalek made it 1 - 0 late in the second, and Brandon Dubinsky scored the empty netter to seal the deal.

Needless to say, I hate the New York Rangers...

I'm playing with the Oilers right now and I have some goals with the save:
Win two President Trophys.
Win the Art Ross Trophy.
Win five Stanley Cups within ten years after the first SC win.

This is how it has gone so far:
12/13: 12th in WC.
13/14: 2nd in WC. Lost 3-4 to Calgary in the Conference-final.
14/15: 4th in WC. Lost 2-4 to Detroit in the Conference-final.
15/16: 1st in WC. Presidents Trophy. Lost 2-4 to Los Angeles in the Conference-final.
16/17: 1st in WC. Presidents Trophy. Won Stanley Cup with 4-1 against Washington.
17/18: 2nd in WC. Won Stanley Cup with 4-3 against Washington.
18/19: 1st in WC. Presidents Trophy. Lost 3-4 to Minnesota in the Conference-semifinal.
19/20: 1st in WC. Presidents Trophy. Nugent-Hopkins won the Art Ross Trophy. Lost 0-4 to Vancouver in the Conference-semifinal.

The last two playoffs has been really disappointing. The performance against Vancouver was pathetic. Got six years to win three more Cups.

The team that failed the last playoffs:
Maxim Tretyak - Dominic Vargas

Phil Baltisberger - Seth Jones
Ryan Whitney - Ian McCoshen
Brayden McNabb - Jeff Petry
Sergei Stetsenko

Taylor Hall - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Jordan Eberle
Nail Yakupov - Anton Lander - Sam Gagner
Magnus Pääjärvi - Daniel Bogdziul - Cal Clutterbuck
Nick Foligno - Brandon Sutter - Nate Thompson
Scottie Upshall - Philippe Dupuis

No, I'm afraid not. However, you could try swapping the Swiss teams with a league of playable teams. That's the best we have at the moment.

Started the 3rd season with Penguins (Manimal 4.0, adjusted salary cap to current $70.2 million).

Have won two President's Trophys but fell short in playoffs. ](*,)

For third season I try a hit or miss tactic. The team will play with three lines.

Ilya Kovalchuk - Sidney Crosby - Evgeni Malkin
Bobby Ryan - Ryan Kesler - Dustin Brown
Sven Bärtschi - Brian Sutherby - Patrick Kaleta

Erik Johnson - Keith Yandle
Duncan Keith - Kris Letang
Andrej Meszaros - Dougie Hamilton

Pekka Rinne
Dan Ellis

I also try to break some records in the process. 15 games into season and it's going quite well.

Here are the best scorers:

Sidney Crosby - GP 15, 18+21=39
Ilya Kovalchuk - GP 15, 9+30=39
Evgeni Malkin - GP 15, 17+20=37

Dustin Brown - GP 15, 9+11=20
Ryan Kesler - GP 15, 6+14=20
Bobby Ryan - GP 15, 6+10=16

Keith Yandle - GP 15, 7+9=16
Kris Letang - GP 15, 3+9=12

If Crosby, Kovalchuk or Malkin can keep up the pace and stay healthy, they would score more than 200 points.

With the superpatch you will have Austria with 12 teams and u can swap austrian teams with NLA ones, but you'll lose the Austrian league and will have 9 foreigners to be dressed. A thing I once did was to create a Swiss-German league over the DEL, it was fun.

Update!

42 games played in the season. Malkin got injured for 2 months (still away about a month) and Crosby was away couple of games.

Kovalchuk and Crosby still going strong though. Put Kesler to 1st line.

Kovalchuk: 42 GP, 36+76=112 -> 82 GP, 70+148=218 :notworthy:
Crosby: 39 GP, 39+60=99 -> 79 GP, 79+121=200 :notworthy:

Malkin got 32+48 in 34 games before he injured.

The whole thread's worth reading, but I think the May 6/2012 post by archibalduk on page 2 of the thread has the link to the latest/greatest version of the superpatch

Finally won the Stanley Cup in my seventh year as GM for the Florida Panthers!

We got into the playoffs as the 7th seed, and went up against the one team I HATED playing against, the 2nd seeded New York Rangers. We took a commanding 3 - 0 lead in the series, however they were able to win the next two games, and had the opportunity to force a decisive Game 7, but we were able to shut them down and win the game with a score of 3 - 0.

In the second round, we ended up facing the 1st seeded Montreal Canadiens who had also won the President's Trophy. Now this was a brutal series, Carey Price was a brick wall, stealing both game 1 and 2 for the Habs. Obviously going into Game 3 trailing the series by 2 - 0, I was pretty certain the series was over, until Matt Duchene scored with 6:11 left in overtime, to make it 2 - 1, after that we won the next two series as well to take a 3 - 2 series lead. The Habs however forced a game 7 after destroying us in the 6th game with a score of 8 - 0. Game 7 went to sudden death overtime with a score of 3 - 3, in the third overtime period with only 9:01 left, Dion Phaneuf scored on the powerplay from the point to win the series for the Florida Panthers.

We were now in the Eastern Conference Finals against the 6th seeded New Jersey Devils, and the series was pretty easy. The Devils didn't have anything going for them and fell in five games, and for the first time since 1996, the Florida Panthers would play for the Stanley Cup.

In the Stanley Cup Final, we were up against the first seeded St Louis Blues, a team that dominated the west for three back to back seasons, but always failed to make it to the finals. Last year, they lost to the Coyotes in the Western Conference Finals, but only because Halak was injured. The Coyotes ended up winning the Stanley Cup by steamrolling the Carolina Hurricanes in 5 games.

The St Louis Blues fell in seven games as the Panthers raised the Stanley Cup for the first time in their history.

Game 1: Blues won (3 - 2 OT) TJ Oshie scored with 16:19 left in overtime.

Game 2: Panthers won (4 - 0)

Game 3: Panthers won (1 - 0 OT2) Jonathan Huberdeau scored on a breakaway.

Game 4: Blues won (4 - 2)

Game 5: Blues won (3 - 1) Kyle Quincey sealed the deal with an empty net goal with 37 seconds left in the third.

Game 6: Panthers won (7 - 1) Not much to say except the Blues had nothing going for them, the only managed 23 shots on net, Huberdeau got a hattrick.

Game 7: Panthers won (4 - 3) The Blues were leading 3 - 2 midway through the second period, but Halak got injured. The Panthers scored twice on the powerplay in the third period to win the Stanley Cup!

It was a terrific season, but there are some cap issues that need to be resolved in the offseason. I'll also have to resign Huberdeau and Markstrom, and both will want a lot. The NHL Draft is coming up as well and we're slightly low on defensemen, so I'll be looking into that quite a bit.

2018-19 season with my long-term Ranger team, this year was a struggle breaking in new goalie and two rookie defensemen, ended up in sixth. First round matchup versus Leafs - my 4th line center gets hurt in game 6 (which i win to tie series at 3), my best option for a sub (with hartford also played that day) is a good faceoff guy i drafted 210th in 2015 who has played 1 other nhl game in his career, he ends up scoring the overtime winner to take the series.

I just finished my first season where I'm managing Phoenix and NYR.

Both teams qualified for the playoff, but NYR got knocked out in the quarter-finals by Boston Bruins, who then lost to Stanley Cup runners up Washington Capitals.
Phoenix beat Chicago in the quarter-finals in seven games, but got knocked out by Stanley Cup winners Vancouver Canucks (as if that could happen IRL...).

The most weird thing was when I saw the nominations for the Vezina Trophy, NYR got one goalie there, but not Lundqvist but Scott Stajcer who had played most season in ECHL where he dominated so I moved him to AHL, where he was okay in a team that sucked. I even called him up to the main team when Lundqvist was injured. I let Stajcer play one game which we won and he got a rating of 10.
But somehow, with one game played, Stajcer got nominated and also won(!!!) the Vezina Trophy beating NHL regulars/veterans like Miller and Luongo.

LOL at the Canucks and the Vezina. The Vezina goes to the team I believe...at least the team of goalies. But to have your name in there when you are clearly an injury replacement. Classic. Scott Stacjer is the new Rory Fitzpatrick.

That Vezina win might have been the best thing that have happened in my gaming career, so far. :-p
