Not sure if just playing 500 games for one team should mean a guy gets that team as a favorite, let alone a personnel member as his friend. Example: Not sure that David Poile and Nashville would really be Vokoun's favorites. Or Mr Tootoo in particular . Shuhei Kuji and Lundqvist? How on earth do those guys link up. Just googled him and see nothing in top hits that relates him to Lundquist in any way.

Jackman and the Blues? Why really?

Sure Daniel and Henrik to Vancouver...but Kesler is not happy right now with the organization made clear when he was chirped by AV last year for having no vision on the ice.

Ron Tugnutt and SPezza? What is their relationship? Sure they played together...but what is the back up to say they love each other.

Hemsky and Oilers--Highly unlikely since he is constantly being rumoured to be dealt and where there is smoke there is fire.

Who are CHelios and Seabrook friends? Especially since CHelios and the Blackhawk fan base hate each other for him taking off for Detoilet and wanting out of Chicago? Where is this based? Because they both payed for the Hawks. See no reason they are buddies really. Googled names together and not a hit.

Vanek\'s fave is Buffalo? Then why would he want to leave and sign an offer sheet with the Oilers. he could care less. Just play for the $

Horcoff loves the Oliers? really? He is on the verge of having his C ripped off. Got a few bucks, played like rubbish and became the only person on the rumour mill out of Edmonton more likely than Hemsky and Gagner.

Perry and Getzlaff are both UFA....I bet at least one of them does not sign with Anaheim. And I bet one gets moved this year. I am not sure this is accurate at all. They are somewhat friends, but not really.

How are Briere and VAnek tied together in any way?

Just many examples...I really don't care all that much but am curious how these relationships really work. I would hate to see them put into the game and have it affect the game when they really do not make any logical sense. Or do they? These relationships in real life are more ...hey I played with that guy, or I played alot for that team because I had a contract...not an I really love that team or dude.

Now...Henrik, Daniel, Burrows, Bieksa...a bit different story.

But really not sure about some of these other ones. They seem actually not at all...like would be indifferent.

Exactly.

Of course all players do not love their team where they have played for years like you stated batdad. But this is little complicated.. does Horcoff hate team or does he hate coaches/office members for ripping that C off.. it's quessing unless you go and ask it from (drunken) Horcoff himself. That list is more like succestion so if there is anything that someone doesn't like then leave it.

If it helps, the Favourite Teams section is used for: The team he supports or a team where he aspires to play or a team where he is likely to return to towards the end of his career. For example:

- A prospect may have mentioned his favourite NHL team in an interview;
- If a player has been with an NHL team for a number of years and re-signs a contract with that team even though he was eligible to become a free agent;
- For European players in North America, it should be the last Euro team they played for before they moved over to North America. The reason for this is because it increases the likelihood in game of the player returning to that team to finish his career (rather than any other random Euro team).

For Favourite Staff: Players and non-players he would be likely to work with again if the opportunity arose.

I think we should be careful when adding favourite teams to players.
It severely affects Free Agency.
I remember that Crosby used to have Montreal as favourite team and he ended up signing there when he was due for UFA. I think it is pretty clear that he likes it in Pittsburgh and should have that(or nothing ) as favourite team.

I agree with Batdad on several of the guys mentioned but I do not have the time rght now to list them

Speaking of that:

Maxim Tretiak (Krasnaïa Armia) have himself as favourite staff. I guess it should be his grandfather Vladislav instead, except if he is a very egotistical person :-D

Well I guess you have something to work on then. I don't really expect anyone to go back and change all the existing facepacks, but future facepacks will probably have the new spellings, it all depends on who makes them. If they are not using the updated rosters I don't expect them to use the updated spellings. For anyone that wants a current facepacks to work, they will just have to edit the names themselves. It's really not all that hard, just time-consuming.

Again just to be clear here....I am very appreciative of all the work you guys do on the db. I am just pointing out things that could cause the db to not be as accurate. I mean having Vokoun list Nashville and Poile as his favorite would definitely make him more likely to go to the Preds. And I highly doubt he will. To do that would be like having Gretzky name Phoenix as his favorite because he coached there in the past. I highly doubt that would be Wayne's choice since they owe him millions of $, and he left the organization. See what I mean? If Wayne got offered jobs in EHM..it is highly likely the least desirable, not the most desirable would be Phoenix. Vokoun would be the same towards Nashville, since he was unceremoniously left without an offer from them. Crosby and Montreal was insane at the time, and is even more insane today. Kesler will go where the money is for him.

The Sedins/Burrows...that would be accurate as I said before with Vancouver. They love it here and are loyal.

As for the Horcoff comment...I think if he does not like the Oiler management and staff (BTW I believe he still has the C)....that would pretty much be the same as not loving the organization. Nowhere near the Patrick Roy Montreal stuff but still..just the same.

With Vokoun he is an arrow to DAvid Poile in club favorite staff list. And Tootoo is arrowed to Trotz. Assume you are replacing Vokoun with Poile and Tootoo with Trotz which makes more sense for the moment. But at the time, I was not sure and thought it was linking the two together as buddies.

Just my two cents:

> Michael Sauer of the NYR shouldn't be playing hockey. He's been sidelined with a concussion he got from a hit by Dion Phaneuf for over a year now, and may never even play again.
> For some reason, the Colorado Avalanche don't own Ryan O'Reilly's rights. He's an RFA right now, and hasn't gotten a contract done.
> Cody McLeod of the Colorado Avalanche has a 1 for stickhandling. I know he's got bad hands, but come on. I figure it's a typo and supposed to be 11.
> Jesper Fasth, prospect of the NYR, now goes by "Jesper Fast." Lame name, but yeah. He also has had an entry-level contract signed with the NYR since May of 2012. It's a two-way, 3 year deal with a cap hit of $900,000. http://capgeek.com/player/2278

These are all edits I can just make myself, but I'd thought I'd make ya'll aware of them. Good job, keep up the good work. =D>

For Michael Sauer, he is still listed on the New York Rangers roster page on thier webiste, so I have a feeling that is why he is still in the game. As far as being out with a concussion I don't know if the guys doing the roster updates start the players off with any injuries.

With Ryan O'Reilly, I know I haven't played with the new DB yet, but i also know that there is a glitch with the main game that for some unsigned RFA's thier rights get released within a week (I think) of the game starting.

And kudos to saying you can do them for your own DB!

:dunno: His brother, Kurt Sauer, who's dealing with the same concussion problems (and has been for a while) starts the game off out 5 months with a concussion. I don't really know how any of the injury things work, I think it's in the extra config files which I'm still sketchy at best with. As for O'Reilly, the database doesn't have any info for his rights. He's signed the Metallurg, where he played over the lockout.

And of course, people whine for the TBL staff to make a lot of easy changes they can make themselves. There's very clearly guided info available on how to do it.

Yeah, injuries can be added via extra_config. Like this:

Code: Select all

"INJURY" "Chris" "Pronger" "Philadelphia Flyers" "PERMANENT_CONCUSSION_3" -1
If it's not permanent, you can remove the PERMANENT_ bit. IIRC there are three types of concussion (CONCUSSION_1, CONCUSSION_2 and CONCUSSION_3). I can't remember which one is the most severe and which is the least severe (but I'm sure someone else can clarify it). The number afterwards (i.e. the -1) in the example above is the number of months the player is out with the injury.

Any and all posts in here will be picked up by Alessandro in time for the next release. So keep on posting those mistakes.

As for McLeod's stickhandling, we'll be re-rating the entire NHL shortly (probably in March once I've finished my exams). My plan is to make the changes, release it to everybody for testing/feedback and then make any necessary further changes. Then once we're happy with it, I will import the changes into the TBL Rosters.

CONCUSSION_3 is the most severe.

In permanent and in future permanent injuries -1 means that he has high proneness to suffer that injury again, while -15 means that he is not that prone to suffer same injury again. I'm not 100% sure if it is like that or vice versa.
In normal injuries number after inury shows months out due to injury.

These are all edits I can just make myself, but I'd thought I'd make ya'll aware of them. Good job, keep up the good work. =D>

<we missed O'reilly's rights. I posted this earlier in this thread.
<Jesper Fasth does not go by the name Fast here in Sweden. The whole Euro-loan things does not work well in EHM, so we have placed the players with their European teams as that is where they are playing

Hm, I tried the LOAN command in the extra config and Fasth did spend the whole season with HV71. So maybe it will work this way. Do we have other players to be set this way? I am tempted to release a very small update today/tomorrow (KHL deadline!), maybe we can do it.

Yeah it works if the players were drafted in 2011 or 2012. If drafted earlier then they loose their NHL-rights

I'm not sure if this is a mistake but I was looking at all of the players eligible for the first draft in the newest rosters and notices that there are a lot of extremely small British Juniors.

I mean SMALL!!
