Your First line looks awesome !
So im in the playoffs and im 2-2 with the hurricanes . We need some kind of spark. Ovie-Backstrom-Samuelsson combined had about 330 points ( ovie had 134
) are not having that usual spark now. What can i do

Try some tactical changes, or benching players who're low on motivation. Or maybe give more icetime to your top line, give them a better chance to succeed. Or mix up the lines -- players from the first line to the second line, or bring players who have been playing well on third or fourth line up to the first and second line. Or you could check your last game's statistics, maybe you can find something that needs a change thru there. What is the area where you're getting beat by your opponent?
You never know what will turn your team around.

*dusts off thread*
Hey guys I am playing as the Flyers, and needless to say my depth in the net is rediculous to say the least. I am playing with the newest update btw.
I got Bryzgalov as my starter because he is clearly one of my franchise pieces and pretty much undisputed in net.
But I also got Bobrovsky and Hovinen who both are huge talents and both are able to be a very solid backup piece for Bryz.
In the time being I got Hovinen assigned to the Phantoms where he is simply owning the competition and is easily one of the best goalies in the AHL.
Bob is the 2nd guy on my NHL bench behind Bryz, and he is also performing quite well in the games he gets to play when Bryz needs a breather.
Of course the AHL coaches are pressing me to call up Hovinen because he is clearly too talented for the AHL and probably doesn't learn as much over there as he can in the NHL, but if I call him up he will only end up playing behind Bryz and Bob which will hurt his development more.
So right now I am wondering what to do, I think I might be best off trading either Bobrovsky or Hovinen so that I can spend all my effort on that guy and help him become the future leader of my Flyers.
I am going to post screenshots of both guys and maybe guys with experience with both guys can tell me who will probably turn out the best and I can trade the other guy for some valuable players or draft picks.
Maybe guys who are in the future can show me screenies of how both guys ended up being.

Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Have you thought about bringing them up and down from the NHL/AHL? There are a lot of back-to-back games in the AHL and you could let Bobrovsky play those, and bring on/both back up (alternating of course) to let them get some NHL minutes too. Honestly, its a good dilema to have. My suggestion is a little extreme, and it takes quite a bit of micro-management, but it might help you decide which one to trade down the road.

Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Sadly it isn't as easy as that Timmy.
Due to Bobrovsky's NHL experience (2 seasons accrued) I can't freely move him around between the NHL and the AHL, and the chance is way too high he would get snatched through waivers if I try it that way.
Hovinen on the other side does not have any NHL experience he could go between AHL/NHL, but again it wouldn't have much reason because he would still be behind Bobrovsky due to my Head Coach calling the shots in the line-up department.
It would be great if I could move Bob up and down because your idea is pretty good, but sadly enough my hands are tied and to gamble through waivers would be foolish.
It's really a nice Dilemma because both Bobrosky and Hovinen look to become great goalies and even if one doesn't make my cut, he can still be a very valuable trade piece.
In defense I got such a dilemma too, a lot of talented kids with Gustafsson looking to become the next big thing in D, but with Timonen, Pronger, Coburn, Meszaros, Carle AND Kubina in the team there is 0 space for the guy to strut his stuff. Gustafsson had 25 games when Pronger and Timonen where still both injured, and his average rating was clear ROTY quality, but with Pronger back in action and Timonen d2d he will most likely get booted back to the AHL before he accrues another season and loses his easy 2-way eligibility.
The depth of the Flyers in defense is really staggering, the future is really bright for my team... Now just gotta deal my cards right with the veterans and maybe end up turning Pronger etc. into trades for great forwards.

Ahhh, I understand now. Can you trade for a reasonable backup to Bryzgalov and then play both youngsters in the AHL up to the trade deadline? (Or the end of the season) Maybe you could move one of them then.

That would still subject Bobrovsky to having to go through waivers, which will most likely result in him getting stolen by another team.timmy_t wrote:Ahhh, I understand now. EDIT: I have decided to bite the bullet and just shop Bobrovsky around looking to trade him for big prospects who are still waiver exempt, and quite honestly there are a lot of interested teams in getting Bobrovsky and I have even managed to find some interesting trades that should help me.
EDIT2: And a trade has been made, I have traded Bobrovsky to the Ducks (no idea why they want another goalie) for Brandon McMillan and a 4th round pick of the 2012 draft.
I am really glad to get McMillan, who my head scout is calling a 1st line prospect. And the great thing is that he can play all three forward positions very well, and he is still exempt from waivers. A great prospect to add to the forwards...
And to keep Novinen in the AHL for the time being I have signed Pascal Leclaire on a cheap 2 year deal to become the backup goalie for Bryzgalov.

I would have traded Novinen, but hope it works out for you. To me, Bobrovsky looked to be the better goalie.deknegt wrote:That would still subject Bobrovsky to having to go through waivers, which will most likely result in him getting stolen by another team.timmy_t wrote:Ahhh, I understand now. Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Hello dears!
I need advice about roster's development politics. I think that there's no need to start new topic so I'll ask my question here.
It's not my first time when I playing EHM 2007: I play this game about 2 years and I have won several Stanley Cup for various teams, from Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers to Detroit Red Wings. Earlier there's wasn't any troubles to create the good team that will be a Stanley Cup contender for several years in row. But now I have big troubles with it. Often I can't get further than second playoff round.
Does anyone have any recommendations how to create a strong team? Which roster's politics is better? Get few stars (about 30 years old) players and rest of young and talented or get only veterans players to the roster?
Is there some principles or every situation is individual?

Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Guys, i have a question for you.
I'm playing on Manimal 5.0 with the Jets, 2014/15 right now. I have a strong forward lines (1st is Gaborik - M. Richards - Oshie, 2nd is Mueller - Little - Wheeler, 3rd Upshall - Goc - Thorburn, 4th Prince - Jenner - Zaborsky ), no problems with scoring but my defence sucks ass an I have no idea why. I'm curretnly playing with Enstrom - Streit on first, Oduya - Byfuglien on second and Gunnarson - Bogosian on third. It looks very cool but I'm losing a lot of goals on even strenght. So maybe you guys know who should i pick up to somehow improve my D?

Could be goalie but your d is all skewed to offense. Some are at least good at that. You need stay at home guys and none of your dimensions are that type. Some suck as offensive guys too--like Oduya. Big sting and mean. Need at least three. Only one close is Buffy the dough boy.

Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Philou, I have Hiller as starter and Pavelec as his backup but they both have good ratings, Hiller around 8,5 and Pavelec around 8,0 so i don't think that it's the problem.
I just got Keith Aulie, he shows some promise as he's a big guy with good strenght and hitting. I'll see how he will turn out. I have one more question, how should I pair d-men, I mean should offensive one be paired with defensive, or is it better to have offensive line and defensive line?

Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Depends on the players Staz. I tend to go 1-1 but sometimes play two defensive guys together. I never play two offensive together, except on PP. And I find sometimes I give up too many SHG...when I only have average or worse ones, such as Mr Oduya wonder why I am in the NHL? I am good in China, but not so much here.

Re: Help! I need advice for my team/roster (Official Thread)
Hey guys! I'm a newbie and need some advice.
I am in my 3rd season with Rangers, started in 12-13 with latest roster updates. In my 1st season I lost in finals and in 2nd I didn't make it through first PO round.
In the offseason I couldn't resist on signing Henrik Sedin. That brings me to my problem...how to set up lines and roster?
My vision was:
Gaborik - Sedin - Nash
Hagelin - Richards - Callahan
Eager - Boyle - Torres (checking line, defensive)
Kreider - Stepan - Brouwer
I am reluctant to demote Stepan to 4th line and garbage ice time cause he performed very very well last season. What do you think I should do? Rotate them through the season or trade away someone?
edit: Is checking line mandatory? maybe if I make 3rd line more offensive and 4th line defensive? I don't know...I am just thinking out loud
Please help
