How's it going in FHM 2014? What team Are You? [HISTORIC]

Post by archibalduk »

No Franchise Hockey Manager forum on TBL would be complete without the obligatory how's it going in FHM thread! The EHM 2007 one has been going since 6 and a half years now and so let's see how long we can keep this one going! :D

Note that this thread is for the HISTORIC game only (i.e. any seasons prior to the normal starting season in FHM). Any posts about the modern game should go here instead: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 13&t=10670

1947 Detroit Red Wings. Since I don't have a clue what I'm doing I let my assistant do everything. Just beat the Hawks in the first game of the season. Kinda weird playing in front of 20,000+ at the United Center. I presume things will eventually get corrected and the Red Wings will play at the Olympia and the other teams at their correct buildings for the era.

I hope it will be as in OOTP where teams are programmed to move to new arenas in respective season.

I think I saw Jeff mention somewhere in the public forums that it was hoped that arena moves and historic arenas will eventually be added.

He did, and he more than said hoped. He said they will be in eventually.

That game crashed on September 24th 1957. All other teams but Montreal just disappeared and game can't continue to pre-season.

Started from 1947 with Bruins and finished four seasons until game crashed.
Won two Stanley Cups during that time.

Team in 50-51 season (age/ability stars):

P.Babando (25/4) - P.Ronty (22/4) - B.Geoffrion (19/3½)
E.Sandford (22/3½) - M.Schmidt (32/5) - P.Lund (24/3)
K.Smith (26/2½) - J.McGill (30/3) - G.Armstrong (20/3)

H.Buller (24/3) - F.Flaman (23/5)
A.Stanley (24/3½)- C.Martin (28/3)
J.Evans (22/3) - P.Egan (32/2½)

G.Worsley (21/3) - G.Henry (24/2½)

It's going to be fun to play historic game, but currently it is pretty much unplayable. They really should fix player salaries.. I lost lot of good players because they were asking 15,000,000 US$ per season and I only could offer max 10,000,000 US$ contracts.

Those screenshots remind me how the old black and orange logo is so much better than the new silver NHL logo.

Still trying to guide the Penguins from 1967 on to the new century ..... As cool as the historic mode is, due to many many bugs (player ratings not working properl, etc.....) it´s not really playable atm - hope this changes with the new patch =D>
