Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.0 Discussion Thread
Exactly my point Primis. Could careless about jersey numbers when the interface is clunky and not efficient, and when the game crashes all over the place. Sure editable jersey numbers will be nice.....but they do not need to waste their time on that until the main parts of the game work.
Tactics are way more important than those things, so is AI. Small things make the game cool, when the game works. When it is like it is right now.....those things do not matter. And I mean quite frankly (not directed at Loosie or anyone in particular)....they have told us just about EVERYTHING in the game will be editable when it comes to league structure, rules, teams, players and staff...so why would they not include jersey numbers (EXAMPLE...not a pick on point).....
Way more concerned that they listen to issues around AI, UI etc than I am around anything else.

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.0 Discussion Thread
I'm pretty much in agreement with everything batdad has said so far. I've purchased the game knowing it's a beta, and after trying it in short sessions, I'm going to leave it as-is until an update is done.
At this point, there's way too much work to be done to consider it playable, and the navigation is absolutely horrendous (finding the scoreboard for the daily game is one example).
That said, I'd be more worried about the products development being cut down. I'm not entirely sure how the business works, but they must have seen how much orders/interest was generated by now with hard numbers, compared to speculation before hand, and I'd be interested in knowing if there was/is enough interest for this game to be supported, or left alone like EHM was.
I know a lot of work was put into it so far, but is there any possibility that the game was released as a test/soft launch to gauge interest before putting too much work into it? I don't mean to be overly critical of the game, as it does have great potential, just being curious.

No, I can assure you 100% that's not the case.squadz wrote:I know a lot of work was put into it so far, but is there any possibility that the game was released as a test/soft launch to gauge interest before putting too much work into it? I think perhaps FHM is in a stronger position that EHM in terms of profitability. SI spent a huge proportion of their budget on licensing. Sebastian has stated in the public forum before that this isn't a problem for OOTP. If I understood correctly, OOTP are of the view they don't need licences if they don't use logos. That's actually incorrect - but in any event the lack of licensing will save them a fortune no doubt.

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.0 Discussion Thread
I'm posting this here 'cos this is done quickly.
I had some problems with FHM's font in few areas, so I decided to crate fix pack which changes font style.
With new font everything doesn't fit in like salaries in screenshot below.. it is fixable, but I'm not interested to do it yet.

Installation:
Export file in FHM/data/skins/default
Take backup from old default.qss file just in case!

Stupid questions.

2. Is somewhere list of playable leagues? (Sm-league, Finnish Mestis, KHL, Allsvenskans?)
Sorry my english..

Well there's almost all the leagues you want in the game, not a problem I guess! If you buy it BETA you're going to have the updates later when the game will be release.

And also in the whole version in September, I guess you can make your own leagues since everything will be made editable

Yes. In fact, you're actually buying (pre-ordering) the game, not the beta. Getting access to the beta is really just a pre-order bonus.Tonait wrote:1. If I buy "beta". Can I play complete game too same price (Sep 2013)?
You can find a list of playable beta leagues here. And don't be afraid to read the rest of that post - it should tell you a lot more about what to expect from this version of the beta.2. Is somewhere list of playable leagues? (Sm-league, Finnish Mestis, KHL, Allsvenskans?)

HAHA! It seems like Mcgsports found his way to the OOTP boards. under the name mgom27. His thread 'Things that aren't working' is gold. He's going to make an all-time Blues team and want the 2012-2013 season to be the current 48 game season.

And realign the league - no classic is missing. The surprise is the amount of posts under his belt over there...Loosie wrote:HAHA! There isn't really much to make a video about, it's just a text-based management sim. It's also still very early in development, so it still lacks most of its features.Vendo wrote:hello guys... can someone make a video of the game??? because i want to buy this game but i wanto to know what i am buying.. thx
You can find a few screenshots here (and many more if you have a look around the community). What you see there in those shots is pretty much all there is - lots of text, numbers, and menus.
If you're unfamiliar with this type of game, you can check out a nice set of videos from Cody8200, here. They're for OOTP Baseball, but FHM is the exact same type of game.

OMG...OMG..I am in heaven. This is going to be EPIC. And someone else (that we know is very very logical and has a ton in common with mgsports) has responded in his thread. I really really want the boys at FHM to rename the thread "The official mgsports thread"
And No Alessandro...Fear not you have NOTHING in common with mgsports. Except maybe Tarasenko love.

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.0 Discussion Thread
There will be a demo most likely when they officially release the game. THere are screen shots of the in game screen all over the bug reporting thread in....the crash thread and a few other places.
