I'm curious how licensing is going to work.
Do I get a single license for use on a single PC? Do I get multiple uses (could use it on a desktop and a laptop)? And furthermore (this is actually a pretty big deal for me personally) can I remote desktop to play it (because I know some games refuse to run in Remote Desktop, and that's actually how I often play EHM 2007 through my laptop is by remoting in to my desktop...)?
Can anyone shed some light on this? This ultimately is probably going to be the biggest decision on if I take the plunge on it or not. I've checked the OOTP forums and here, and haven't seen details yet as to the licensing.

but nobody has asked about remoting it and I don't have a clue about that part.

I went over, registered, and asked directly at OOTP. I searched the entire forum for "remote" and the search came up empty, so I started a new thread. We'll see what happens.

Yeah, that sounds like a question for the developers themselves. I can't say I've ever seen anyone else discuss such a way to play a game

I have played the game through Teamviewer free on my Android phone, this seemed to work fine!

Re: Game License
I don't think it'll be a problem. I don't see how using a remote desktop will invalidate your licence. You're still using it one a single computer. It's surely no different to hooking up your PC to your TV and using a remote keyboard and mouse.
You can install the game on up to two machines at once. As far as I'm aware, the only limitation is that you cannot share a licence with a friend (i.e. you couldn't install one of your licensed copies on your friend's computer).

That sounds like good news possibly then.dplanty91 wrote:I have played the game through Teamviewer free on my Android phone, this seemed to work fine!
I use Splashtop Remote Desktop for mine (mainly because Splashtop because of the Android verison), because even though it's a huge security risk if you use it outside your LAN... I don't. Heh.
I know it sounds like a dumb thing but... when you have 5 kids and your desktop is normally located in a room away form everyone else it tends to not be popular if you go hole up to use it. However if you can use a laptop in the living room to remote in while staying with everyone else... everyone is happy.

There should be no problem, as i said i use team viewer regularly as i cannot be bothered to go into other room. As archi said, you are only controlling the computer using remote control, so should not be a problem!Primis wrote:That sounds like good news possibly then.dplanty91 wrote:I have played the game through Teamviewer free on my Android phone, this seemed to work fine!

Re: Game License
FYI - OOTP has okayed this:
