I don't generally read these forums, so keep talking about Finnish goalies all you want, misspelling their names horribly and all that.

Just happened to look here now, cause I was bored. :nerd:

Another ridiculously tight match for me. Thank god for wins for Niemi Hiller and Markstrom. What are they doing all winning a game in the same week?

batdad wrote:Well...that could be partly on you. You have not set your lineup this week again. Not active in making moves that much to pick up guys off waivers.(I have 3x the moves)

Plus I sent you a trade request last week that you just ignored or did not bother with. I was willing to work on that one, but I heard nothing back. You could have got a goalie out of it. (I mean...Markkanen is now a starter full time for the rest of the season...could have had him for nothing not that long ago), you could have had Emery when Crawford was out, you could have had the guys in Carolina, and you could have one that is still out there right now...but you have not made the move.
Ya, TBH I havent had the time i was hoping to have for this team, missing the draft was the key here, not having a goalie was just me getting on a day or 2 late, ive missed a bunch of days lineups. Although with that trade you offered it was wierd, cause i saw the email for it the day you sent it, but it wasnt on my team page :S.

I've fallen to 4 wins 5 losses with another loss this past week...tied HC Franzen 5-5-2 but lost the "tie-breaker"
IIRC the first tie-breaker is Goals, and HC Franzen outscored me 14-10...
We tied at 19 for Assists; I've never had lower than 19, and usually am higher (if I'd just had one more Assist!)

I even picked up Briere and Kuba to try and help on the last day...and a few hours after adding him the ESPN site then noted Briere was hurt in practice and not playing Sunday! HaHa

I was sweating it all day yesterday Nino!!! You're right, one assist (or a SHP) would have won it for you!

I dodged a bullet with Briere! He sucked for me for the last couple of weeks so you can have him, he doesn't even shoot much anymore and gave me a whooping -13.
I like Enström better and he is already outperforming Briere. =D>

My goalies secured my win an I must say that my team had a good week. I seem to get exactly the stats needed every week to get wins, I can't complain now. Another tough week ahead as I got huge respect for Corinthians, I think they are a really good team, just under-performing.

And you were all grumpy when I offered you someone pretty darn good in Briere trade. LOL.

First time all year I have not made all 4 of my moves. Kind of happy with my team...at least potential right now. I keep thinking ...yeah I should do something...I go in and look, and think...no I cannot do that.

Even today...was thinking about going for a goon for a couple days...but need to give Ruutu a chance.

batdad wrote: In the aggregate form, for those who were not here when we started, it was based on the total standings---when you look at the standings page, not the win-loss record we do in the week to week. 14 points are given to each team that leads a category, 13 to 2nd place, 12 to 3rd....all the way down to 1 for 14th place. Ties are added up and averaged. SO if three people are tied for 1st 14+13+12/3 gives you what each team gets which is 13 points. This is the same at each tie level.

SO I took the liberty of doing this for the totals after the 2nd week. It gives you a brief glimpse at where your team stands in a different way. And how close you really are to teams you say you are as good as.

1st place===Corinthians Red Army 137.5 (add up the totals of each category--12 categories)
2nd place===Sancouver Senitals... 131
3rd place=== WIld Boars..............120.5
4th place=== Surahammer Slippers.107.5
5th place====Black Bears.............99
6th place====GLasgow Goons.......91.5
7th place====Cammalleri/Meatbal..91
8th place===West Can Canucks....89.5
9th place====Vasteras Vikings....83.5
10th place===Don't Toews Me....82
11th place===HC Franzen..........76.5
12th place===Prague Dead P......66.5
13th place===Minnesota TItans..56.5
14th place===Concussin Jxn......35.5

So as you can see Glasgow Goons have had a pretty tough schedule, Vasteras Vikings a pretty easy schedule so far. There seems to be a bit of separation already at least from 2nd/3rd-4th/5th and in the bottom 4-5 teams.
ALRIGHTY then....aggregate standings after last night games....was going to do at start of week, but had no time.

1. Wild Boars....132
2. Sancouver ....119
3. Black Bears...113.5
4. West Can.....106.5
5. Surahammer.105
6. Glas Goons...103.5
7. Corinthian... 99.5
8. Vasteras ... . 92
9. Don't Toews..81.5
10 HC Franzen..81
11 Dead Parrot.76.5
12 Minnesota...61.5
13 Cammaleri..56
14 Concussion..32.5
#s after week 10

1. Black Bears....131
2. Sancouver...... 127.5
3. Wild Boars....114
4. Surahammer....109
5. Vasteras........107.5
6. Corinthians...100.5
7. West Can.....99
8. Glasgow......90.5
9. HC Franzen..87.5
10. Dont Toews..81.5
11. Prague......66
12. Minnesota...63
13. Cammalleri..42.5
14 Concussion .. 37.5
What is showing? Wild Boars have had a difficult couple of weeks, and have dropped off. Sancouver...steady and up. Black Bears have taken over from Wild Boars, moving up 18 points. West Can drops in points and standing, Surahammer up a bit. Glasgow goons take a hit big time this last bit. Corinthians holding steady just over the century mark.

Vasteras is scaring the daylights out of me. With a goalie...look out...with Brodeur back and Bob in COlumbus winning games, they could prove to be big trouble if they make the playoffs.

My favorite though is Black Bears, unless they are unlucky enough to meet one of the two teams that have beat them. Me in the 2nd week. Wild Boars in the 3rd week. Scary. We are into week 10 and the Bears two losses were way way back in January. At one point that team was 1-2.

Was I grumpy? If I was I'll eat crow now. :-p
I also more often than not have a tough time finding new additions.

For me to keep on winning I need to put my faith into a 21 year old Lehner, I wonder how long this will work out.

Back to .500 (5 wins 5 losses) with my biggest win of the season, 10-2-0!

But I've got two more players on IR (three in total now), and another day-to-day...it'll be even tougher to beat the (8 wins 2 losses) Black Bears FHC this next week - if I'd played them this past week I would have lost 1-10-1!

Bit of a struggle last week for me. But this week so far has been a little better for my boys. Will see how weekend goes. Need to win and knock Timmy out of playoff contention, and to keep ahead of the freaking Vikings.

BTW--If this were a full regular season in real life NHL, we would have been in the 2nd round of the playoffs last week. I am not going to do all the work to see who would have plaed who and who would be in and out...but I bet I would have lost....AGAIN.

Of course the one week where I need my guys to play well they completely lay down and let batdad practically sweep me. ](*,)

To make matters worse I now have to face a red-hot Alex Ovechkin. Why did I get impatient and trade him??? :dunno:

What a total beatdown. Smoked you so bad. Wow. Wow Wow.

Now here is the scoop guys...Wild Boars vs Vasteras...only thing that matters. Winner in playoffs...loser out. Unless Manimal loses and scores 400 goals.....

So that being said...I have clinched a spot based on that match up, and so have Black Bears and Surahammer.

Good luck to all...and Manimal beat him...his team is scary good.
