Re: How is FHM compared to EHM 07? [Screenshots Inside]

There are team/league logo instructions here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 24&t=10698
Player pic instructions are here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 21&t=10631

Note that there is a bug with the latest version of the game whereby the player pics don't work.

Ok, I understand! Thanks alot for the help!

Do you know if it is possible to use the pics from ehm (I understand if I have to re-name the file names) for this game to?

As I have over 20000 player pictures inplanted for ehm and if it is possible to use them I could upload a BIG complementing facepack to your already made facepack!

Thanks again for the fast answer!

Yes you can! The file names are the same as the EHM facepack file names and so there is no problem there. All you have to do is resize them correctly. The correct image dimensions are here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 19&t=10675

I use Faststone Image Resizer to resize images because it is free and easy to use.

Thanks alot for this. What a smooth way to convert all the pictures at one time. Only dilemma is I have most of my pictures "In Action Pictures" like this (but smaller of course);

Image & Image

So the problem will be that the pictures will be kind a small, I will look further on how it looks IG and then I upload a megapack in the next couple of days!

Edit: I saw in the other thread that the full game will include facegen pictures. Does this mean we can't use the ehm pictures anymore in the full game?

And how about news and background pictures, are we able to use them in FHM in some kind of way?

I guess perhaps you could crop them a little before you resize them?

IIRC I don't think Facegen is guaranteed, but it is hoped to be included. Even if Facegen is included, you will still be able to use normal pictures too.

No, not at this stage. The user interface is going to be overhauled soon and so we'll have to wait and see what changes they make to how things work. This is why it is not worth trying to customise the game's skin right now; things could change quite substantially (whereas logos and player pics will be fine).

Thanks for the fast answers, Archie!

I am converting my ehm pictures right now (It takes alot of time) and I will be back with some screenshots assuming the pics works with version 31. And if you like it I upload the megapack for download. Also I have a great amount of logos to complement your pack and I will resize them also and make them availible for download to if someone is intrested.

Yeah, any new logos would be great! I have a lot of new ones to add to the pack. Hopefully at the end of the month once my exams are over.

Now to my next problem when I try to implant the pictures the way you show in the other thread I have a problem; my quickstart_games is under default_data, like this

D:\Spel\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 2014\default_data\quickstart_games\Majors.quick\graphics

...and under data I have only fonts & skins. Is it suppose to be this way?

I have even tried to copy the whole quick_start folder to the data folder, like this

D:\Spel\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 2014\data\quickstart_games\Majors.quick\graphics

Sooo...right now I have two quickstart_games folders but none of my inplanted pictures appear in the game. My guess is this is because I have version beta 31 and the bug you talked about is there. But then why do all the default logos appear in the game. I deleted everyone of them before I inplanted my ehm pictures?

And last wich of the default_data or data folder are this quickstart_games folder suppose to be under?By default as said I had it under the default_data folder.

Thanks for all the help!

Edit; I forgot to mention that the quickstart_games folder came by default under the default_data folder when I had installed the game.

I think you're looking at the wrong folders. I don't know why, but FHM creates duplicate sets of "quickstart_games" folders. One set is in the installation folder (i.e. D:\Spel\Out of the Park Developments\... in your case) and another in your "My Documents" folder. It is the set in your "My Documents" folder where you should be adding your graphics too. Try finding this folder:

Code: Select all

\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 2014\data\quickstart_games\Majors.quick\graphics
This is where you should be putting logos and player pics.

Note that the images added to the quickstart games folders only appear for new games. If you want to add images to your existing saved games, you must also add them to here:

Code: Select all

\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 2014\data\saved_games\<<YOUR SAVED GAME NAME>>.lg\graphics
This is something I find a little bit annoying with FHM. I can see that by having a game-by-game graphics folder you can have different logos for different games. However, it does make your saved games become really large. I'm sure there's a good reason for it because they've been using this same system with OOTP for years.

Again thanks for all the help. I managed to get the logos visible in my game now at least. Have to wait for future updates so we can see the player pics also.

One thing taht bothers me is that the game needs to copy all logos/players pics when starting a new game into that saved games folder. It took approx 25 minutes to load a new game after I inplanted all 18078 player pics and I even thought the game was corrupt before I realized that copy thing. I really wish they can come up with a faster way to do this.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I reported this as a bug with OOTP a couple of months ago. They said there's nothing they can do to speed it up and that the game is no slower copying the images than manually copying them in Windows. However, I find it much quicker to copy the images in Windows than the game (but I had assumed at the time that it was due hard disk caching, etc speeding up the copying in Windows). If you're encountering the same issue, it sounds like maybe FHM could actually do things faster...

You may want to raise the point over on the Official Bugs Forum: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/f ... g-reports/
